Randy, I have to say my favorite tip from you is to break up the salt in the plastic by rubbing it to the surface. I fish a tube quite a bit in the spring with a rattle inserted in the tube, but I’m going to try the bead this year. Thanks for all the tips, keep them coming. I believe that there is something to learn everyday. Whether you think you know it or not, there are little things a person can learn if you pay close attention to details.
I just bought a bunch of tubes and cannot wait to fish them. This is in my top 3 best channels on bass fishing!! Randy, your advice is priceless! Stunning!!
Man o man. This dude is just a library of knowledge. To still be giving new tips daily.. imagine what all he knows. Surely he has some good ones he won't ever reveal
Thanks for the tip about breaking up the salt and cutting the slit. I struggle hooking up when I fish Texas rig because of the reasons you state. I do cut the slit when fishing a tube jig to make it fit better, but I never thought about it for the Texas rig. Going to give it a shot next time.
I always have a 4 1/2 to 5 inch flipping tube tied on. The bait flat out gets over looked these days but will catch giants and gets bit when they dont want anything else. Thanks for the tip Randy, you are the man and I Pray you have the best fishing year you have had. God Bless and keep casting!
I've watch a lot of video's about tubes because I didn't know how to properly rig and fish them but since watching your video yours is the only one that makes sense to me. You are the only one who rubs the tube up and cuts a slit in it and let me tell you the next time I go out I'm going to take your tip and do mine that way. Thanks Randy!
I saw a previous video where you worked the plastic to loosen it up and I tried it. I use a lot of Zoom baits and the difference is crazy! Thanks for the helpful content.
I can tell you this. While diving we find lures we usually tease the fish to get their attention. Nothing got the attention more than a silver tube w glitter . Every trout & bass emptied the shipwreck following us, each taking several nips. Approx 17 followed. Also, crayfish make bass go nuts, they will take it right of your hand as you pick it off the bottom.
Thanks Randy, I love fishing tubes in Pittsburgh for our giant 10 to 12” average smallmouth! Pretty deadly here. I’ll give that a try besides exposed hook.
Randy man sell me some of those gambler flippin tubes from the late 90s!!!!! Loved using a real thick 5/0 wide gap. What a great fall it has. Center loaded with a ball head will have the real thin walled tubes falling in big circles.
Randy I know you still have somewhere in your tackle stash hand poured tubes that the Rod & Real on the hill sold on the way to Collierville bay. I found a bunch of em that dad had, man are they rhin as paper and soft too!
Great tips man. I use die on my tubs 99percent of the time. One thing I would tell everyone that use the bead MAKE SURE ITS NOT GLASS. I learned that the hard way. Those tungsten weights will crack the glass beads and you will break off an the hook set just about every time. The baits can be used in other ways to, I've caught a lot of fish on a carolina rig. It's funny that you used a smoke red tube! That's my buddy's favorite color, mine is smoke purple. Anyways safe safe. Tight lines and Semper Fi.
For years, I did not have one tube in my boat, but with your tips, I am gong to try once again to use them this coming season. Thanks for giving up your tips for us.
@@riclindsey329 my pb is 4.13 but I’m on the fence about claiming it. Was caught on a live lizard about 15 years ago. I just started fishing again last year after close to 10 years so I’m kind of resetting myself. My “new pb” so to speak was last year on a pear super fluke jr at 3.3. I feel like I’m stating fresh as a “new” fisherman using only artificial lures for bass. It feels more like fishing to me rather than setting out live bait catfishing or something that I do at night.
After watching for about a month it seems that every presentation is you all time favorite. It, to me, can be overwhelming at times. I'm a weekend angler and am starting to think I am overthinking all my ideas on how to fish.
Your down to earth approach to all your videos and the ability to teach and relate to people is what makes your channel. Recently I watched another video with KVD and that guy comes across as an arrogant self centered tool for his sponsors. Keep doing you. We all appreciate your videos.
I really like Randy and this channel, I don’t even live in the great USA or fish for bass (I wish I did) but there are always great ideas and tips. Likes and subscribed from the UK.
I love the tube up north here. Most people use it for smallmouth, but they catch big largemouth bass to. They really are a great goby imitation on the great lakes, and a craw imitation. Thanks for that tip, I am definitely going to try that when the ice comes off up north. I usually just used a tube jig that is weighted, but I like the Carolina rig bead it gives it a great sound with the led weight.
Great video though, you got the best instructional videos I've found yet. Tactical bassin used to be my #1 instructional videos, but yours goes into detail more. I love tactical bassin but I think Tim, and Matt trying sell products now instead of just fishing and explaining what there doing and why. Now it's you gotta have this 300 dollar rod and this 300 dollar reel and if you really want catch them gotta get this lure it's a great deal today they have them marked down under 100 dollars at 89.99. so randy I know I vented a little on this comment, it started out just to tell you thanks alot you do great videos and please keep up the good work!!!!!
Man I really appreciate that Danny. I don’t really pay much attention to the other UA-cam channels out there. I just try to do my own thing and help people like it and can learn something from it
@@randyblaukatintuitive you are a national treasure! It’s a blessing to have someone like you who loves the sport of fishing so much that you share all these amazing secrets to help us all succeed! And keep the sport of fishing alive and going so we like you can pass it down to our children and grandchildren! Thank you so very much for you being you
My favorite flipping bait and I do everything the exact same down to the same hook and never ever pegged except the bead never thought of it but do stick a rattle up in the tube sometimes. The bead is a great idea. You are giving great info and I love the channel.
I first read about flippin' a tube in Bassmaster when Doug Garrett won MegaBucks at High Rock Lake. I ordered some of his tubes, and started catching 'em. It was something not a lot of other guys did. I got away from it for a long time, because it lost its effectiveness. But, I am trying to work it back into my arsenal.
I appreciate how you explain the origins of your staple baits of choice. I honestly only use tubes for Small mouth fishing & the "stupid" tube works best for me cuz of it's weedless presentation. I know you're a scent guy, do you use those markers that have garlic scent in ink?
Great tips heres another that I do to a tube .I take a small amount of a cotton ball and shove it up into the head of the tube then add sent that cotton will hold your sent untill the bass tear it up that you cant use it anymore. Tight lines!
I’d add one more VERY important tip to this vid. If you guys wanna catch even more fish when they bite and avoid more snags then use a snell knot to connect the hook. It adds the cam action like from a punching rig and keeps the hook riding upright in cover and the knot never slips around on the eye since its through it. And its a damn strong knot when tied correctly. And when you’re in wood, peg the weight and ditch the bead. The tube is the greatest single bass lure off all time by far. They can be jigged, flipped, skipped, used as a jerkbait, dropshotted, and more!!They catch fish all season long and in every depth. Enough said🤫
Next video, medium power or medium heavy rod? What’s the best weight range to keep in mind and the best line size to flip this with. I have always wanted to master the tube. Thanks Randy! You’re the GOAT!
Flipping tubes is by far my favorite way to fish,,,now I like your method of cutting one side AND adding that beed ...btw,,who is this Johnny I keep hearing about ? 😂
i use 2 use brass and glass only tubes but i got tired of losing all of them and now i use a naked tube or a split shot ...sometimes i would take a pc of chewed gum and shove into the tube for more weight
Man I love flipping a tube and have made a some money on it. It took a while to find the best rigging but I feel I figured it out several years ago now. It's completely different than how you do it though. May have to try both this spring when I am just out fun fishing.
You're top notch in my book high quality old pro old school thanks for the insight in hidden information about to vision I did know the things that you taught me tonight you're the bomb baby
I love your videos and probably watch them daily. Thanks for the knowledge!!! Have you ever used the bead with a Texas rig worm or creature bait? What were the results?
Ok,Randy, my friend invented the stupid tube and I would be interested in your thoughts on it vs your rigging. It is probably the rig of choice around here, and I feel like it has helped my tube fishing tremendously.
Just used a 4.2 inch flipping tube using Randy's setup for the first time and caught a 5 pound bass flipping it in the back of a ditch. It works!
Whenever Randy talks I feel like a sponge!New favorite youtuber
Dont sleep on the flippin tube... im glad ppl have kinda forgotten about it

PB largemouth on Lake Arthur in ‘91. Also caught some nice smallmouths around Kittaning back then.

Thank you for showing this tip on tube bait rigging. I do enjoy fishing with tunes and this will really help.
