I'm the same way, and I think if you're a pro you shouldn't be using the sonar and need to set right up on top of them and watch your lure on the screen drop down and dangle is their face. That takes alot of the skillsets that us old guys have and use to find the fish, thats half the battle then to watch your bait on a screen and basicly try to land it right in their mouth. Heck might as well hire someone to swim down and hook them for you too, and they call themselves pros and half of them could fish and catch without them. Old schools have more skill sets to find them than the pros even know about !

I’ve been kicking butt with this technique for about 5 years now and don’t see a lot of people doing it, that’s probably why the fish absolutely love it

Damm Ike this is an old school trick that didnt need any videos. The spiral fall is what draws the strikes.
I havent seen anyone with a center loaded tube in 25 years

A tube has been my confidence bait for years. I can contest that Ikes method works and works well. Last week I fished this method at a heavily pressured 5 acre county park, I usually catch 12-14" lmb, this past week unknowingly I fished this method minus the heavy jig head. I try to mimic a crawdad under attack. I caught 6 bass 3-4lb and only 1 12" in less then 2 hours. If Your not fishing a tube jig your missing out!

I 've been fishing tube jigs and snapping them since the early 90s, but I didn't know about adjusting the spiral by the placement of the hook eye in the tube body. I really appreciate the tip, Mike!

“The closer you are to the nose of that bait with the eyelid, the tighter that spiral is going to be on that fall.”
This information was what I was looking for! I heard from BassResource that it was a 90 degree line-tie that made the spiral so, I shouldn’t be using a 60 degree line-tie tube jighead. But obviously this is not true! Thanks for helping me understand the spiral motion on the tube and not misleading me!!!

I am really looking forward to the elites fishing Wheeler but the TVA killed the grass. I had to focus on points and bluff walls and did pretty well, my 8 yr old son has so much fun, the fish weren’t big but we caught about 15 in 1.5 hours. I was really hoping the elites would fish the lake like it was 2 years ago. The grass had that lake producing quality but it’s back to the old wheeler now. I’ll be pulling for you Ike!!
