Hey Ty great tip another tip slice the bottom side of the tube so the hook is only going through one layer of the tube for better hook up similar to some soft swimbaits.tight lines bud
Shaw Grigsby HP hooks 2/0 with the metal clip. Looks just like the hook you mentioned except it doesn’t put the bigger hole in that your keeper on that hook does.
I just got a 10" Tube mold that is 1 3/8 in diameter. It's kind of like the old Tora tubes of the 90's. I'm having a hard time finding the right jig mold. I looked at all the Do-It molds, none seem to be the right fit. I might have to go with a smaller option of a jig hook and have a teaser treble hook connected to the main jig head. Most likely, I'll have to have a custom jig hook made. It's a monster tube that I'm spraying in a trout pattern.
The Shaw Grigsby hook is great, and so is the Gamakatsu Skipping hook. It really spins the tube to the hook. Never had a problem of the tube balling up with either of those hooks. I'll have to give the Trokar a try.
I've been throwing a weightless stupid style Kietech solid tube in white with sum success lately. Solid tubes weightless have a nice fall. They also can take a punch better than traditional hollow tubes.
Another great video! I just bought some Fat Ika's and gonna rig them backwards as another youtuber recommended. I'm gonna give these Trokar hooks a try!
If you prefer an EWG hook you can just take a bobber stop and thread it on the hook and slide it up to the ledge on the hook and it will eliminate the tube from slipping down the hook and also you can get the regular Eagle Claw tube hook and it is exactly like the Trokar TK190 tube hook just quite a bit cheaper only difference is the regular Eagle Claw has a regular needle point tip
I threw tubes 10 years ago and caught quite a few bass with them. I love rigging up a tube but haven't been able to get bit on the tubes for the last 2 years.
What size trokar tube hook did you use with that 4.5" stikeking tube? You like this set-up better than traditional insert tube jighead? or the stupid tube? What size trokar tube hook would you recommend for 3" long tube?
I like your info! I see that you peg your weight. What weight do you usually have the best luck with? I just finished a club tournament on Bull Shoals that was about 19" above normal pool and had at least 8' of visibility. I'm kicking myself for not pitching a tube!
Your channel really does deserve more attention. Some of the NH anglers say the same stuff you do. And up here might be the toughest bass fishing in the country.
I developed the hook that Denny Braur used to win classic using the tube primarily. Mustad's Mega-Bite. But I developed a better one primarily for Tubes. If you read this comment let me know and I will get some to you.
I fish a weighted hook that looks like that. I also rig it stupid tube style. There’s videos about stupid tubes rigging. Very good style hooks for tubes for sure.
Pretty sure you said your fav hook size is 5/0 or 6/0 around the 9:50 min mark....but doesn't sound like these hooks are even avail bigger than a 4/0....kinda confused....great content man - top fishing channel
Great! I think I saw you're using the hook at 2019 Open Harris Chain. Do you usually start using lighter sinker such as 3/4oz? I like lighter sinker for flipping. Let me know, Thanks!
@@BassFishingHQ Thank you very much. I just got 6/0 hook and I will try. I saw you're using it in Bassmaster Open Oneida Lake video. What was the ounce on that day? I am enjoying your video! MANY THANKS!
Wanna get away from the tube balling up on your hook? Get some Gamakatsu spring lock superline swimbait hook. Has the Trokar hook beat all to pieces. Ain't gonna ball up on your hook!
@@BassFishingHQ I'm in WV near Marietta,Ohio we can hook and talk shop. But the way that was handed down from top Pros beats anything I could have thought up.

Great video, u answered my question when you said that u use a 6/0 or 7/0 hook! Thanks for the tip! 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣
Thanks for the great tips. I fish a tube a lot. This gives me another option on tube fishing. ❤
Saw this hook in a video and bought some, love it. Never tried bending the hook, I intend to give it a try.
I use the wide gap hook, but I also bend the hook out a bit. This was a tip I saw from Bill Lowen on one of his videos.
I was just thinking about tube flipping. Seriously 😂😂 Thank you Ty for exactly what I was looking for. Excellent presentation as usual

I love to TR a tube for all the reasons you said... plus not alot of people are throwing it. Im gonna check out that hook 4 sure...thanks man!✌
Definitely do so. It works well!!

You should check out the Big Bites baits flipping tubes, they are the best tubes I have ever seen or used the skirts are awesome and the head is solid
I threw tubes 10 years ago and caught quite a few bass with them. I love rigging up a tube but haven't been able to get bit on the tubes for the last 2 years.
That’s interesting cause I think they still work great
I use a Gamakatsu 60 degree jig hook with their double down spring lock. You ought to try it!

Excellent tip. I just ordered some tubes, perfect timing. Will be getting some hooks now.
Dang just when I thought I had most techniques you show this one awesome thx
Great video. I can't wait to try it. Thanks for the tip!!!

It definitely is. If you can excell in the northern conditions, you can do great all around the country.
Im from Vermont and i slay smallies and largies here like crazy.
I developed the hook that Denny Braur used to win classic using the tube primarily. Mustad's Mega-Bite. But I developed a better one primarily for Tubes. If you read this comment let me know and I will get some to you.
I started flipping tube again this just it was something different. I am going get some of those hooks.
Love it Big B! Going out to get some trocar hooks today.
What size is that hook?
Great tip, I've been liking the vids latley with all the info.
I fish a weighted hook that looks like that. I also rig it stupid tube style. There’s videos about stupid tubes rigging. Very good style hooks for tubes for sure.
No, you had it right the first time, "Set it like a man." Good video.
Would you use a ned rig ? Also scent?
I use a 30 degree Gamakatsu hook and replace the screw lock with an Owner screwlock!
What size would you suggest on a 3.75 or 3.5". Or would you not use these hooks?
Owner twist lock for me
Pretty sure you said your fav hook size is 5/0 or 6/0 around the 9:50 min mark....but doesn't sound like these hooks are even avail bigger than a 4/0....kinda confused....great content man - top fishing channel
Shaped like the old Eagle Claw Shaw Grigsby High Performance Hook made for tubes.
Tyler what size Trokar tube hook do you use.
Looks like maybe a screw lock swimbait hook would work too?
6:21 mark is where he actually rigs it, for those who don't want to hear all the talking
Awesome what size hook you use?
Where do you get the lake maps you use in videos?
Good info. Thanks!
Thanks for watching

You are correct I was using that hook. I often feel like the lighter weight I can get away with the better. That day I was using a 3/8oz
@@BassFishingHQ Thank you very much. I just got 6/0 hook and I will try. I saw you're using it in Bassmaster Open Oneida Lake video. What was the ounce on that day? I am enjoying your video! MANY THANKS!
What size hook?
Great information
Ya know man, you should do a video comparing hooks like you have been doing with comparing line and knots. I think we need it
I called Trokar and they said the biggest size they make that hook in now is 5/0 so I bought some
You never said what size hook your using on that 4.5
Great tip
what size do you use for the 4" to 4.5" tube? Thanks. great info
5/0 if you can find them. 4/0 works as well
How well do tubes skip?
I just ordered some
What do you like better......Texas rigging it or stupid tube........
What size hook do you use ?
He said 6/0 or sometimes a 5/0.
Wanna get away from the tube balling up on your hook? Get some Gamakatsu spring lock superline swimbait hook. Has the Trokar hook beat all to pieces. Ain't gonna ball up on your hook!
You know it!
I still use a tube since 1998
Name of hook please?
4/0 or 5/0?
5/0 or even 6/0
Stop giving away my secrets, now they will be out of stock too! Haha
Sorry Jesse :)
The hook almost looks like “stupid style “ ever since I learn abt that style of hooking the tube my hook up ratio when up.
I misheard you, 6/0 or 5/0. 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣
I agree, I like this guys stuff but this video could be half as long and still get his point across.
I flip a tube a lot. And I use a screw lock hook.
I have never tried a screw lock in a tube before, that’s interesting
hey that was my secret I have been fishing that setup for about 1 year
Sorry Mike :)
This is not the best hook... or not the best way to rig vs the right hook
Everyone has their own opinions. I am always up for listening to them. However, this has been the best hook for me for years. Thanks for watching

Like your videos, but like this one you talk way to long.
Great lesson, however, why do you say the same things over and over. way to much talking and explaining on each of the points you want to make.
What size hook??
