  • Trying another cheap option for a steering servo on the SCX6. You may be surprised like I was by the end result!

I understand the reasoning not using the balance port adapters due to the size of the wire. I was hesitant at first, but when I bought a Reefs servo they had the cables and I realized the balance port wires and servo wires are the same or very similar in size anyway. I've been running 3s on a Smart 1100 and Smart 900 with no issues. Granted they aren't 1/5th scale.

My scx6 is stock running 3s can I upgrade to this 150KG and be ok? Do I need to change anything else? Thanks

You can upgrade to this servo with the adapter that comes with the truck. If the servo has already been changed to a 1/5 scale servo it’s a direct bolt on. Make sure you get the aluminum servo arm that goes with the 150kg servo because the axial servo arm is an odd spline and won’t fit any aftermarket servos. To get the full potential out of the 150kg you should run direct 3s power to it. The specs on Amazon show what you get for kg only running off of the stock esc which only puts out 6volts.

@@silverrick90 is there a a better solution not running a servo with a battery but to plug in and go all this bec upgrades etc is confusing my head. I just want to put in a good servo instead of the stock and be good to go

@@sunnyv1281 I don’t think the 150kg will run with less than 10volts according to the specs. I’d go with the 80kg version. The specs claim 85kg at 6volts so it would be plug and play for you.
