  • Danielle Belen works with a student to improve an important moment in the opening of the Brahms Violin Concerto. Spoiler alert - Blocking and vibrating are key, and are harder to come by than you'd think....
TRAIN TO BE AN OLYMPIAN Part II:
    Blocking!
Blocking is an efficiency tool that gives you that little bit of extra time to do more of the things you love! The increments of time saved by NOT placing two or more fingers separately and instead dropping them as a pair can be used to - you guessed it - VIBRATE in between the notes. Plus the reduction in separated, extraneous finger actions means less stress overall and more attention to the bow arm and use of the whole body.
    It's a win-win!!
