@@cavalierfan1995 so very true we always talk about the old days how we enjoy our lives and we had no technology just a dime and a pay telephone and a beeper being black and growing up in government projects and we didn’t realize we were poor but we had the village and we all looked out for each other
Man, these telecasts bring back so many memories for me. Used to bowl in a junior league on Saturday mornings and when I got home would always watch the pros to try and improve my game. I was 12 in 1987. Was using a Hammer and a Columbia 300 Yellow Dot lol. Always loved Pete Weber, WRW, Parker Bohn and Marshall Holman
@Reality He did? Amazing he almost won a tournament last year! He must have tendons made of steel to last as long as he did! Bowling as much as these guys do is very hard on the tendons and wrists! Amazing longevity! Topped by only Tom Brady in sports!
The fact he is still competing at 60 is amazing! Pete could bowl in any Era. That power combined with roll he definitely could've kept up with his dad in his prime.
Really cool coming out of a commercial break just before the Mark Roth pre game interview with Earth 🌍 Wind and Fire's In the Stone playing as background music 🎼 Way cool 😎👍
Even though Norm Duke is my favorite bowler, Pete Weber had the most gorgeous swing in bowling. Everything was picture-perfect except when he had an error on release
@Jesse That was all for show. Pete is a really nice person in real life. There was a reason he got the way he did: Professional Bowling began dying as a sport when Earl Anthony retired. The TV ratings were crashing. The PBA asked Pete if he could save it. He said (quote): "I can; but, you're going to let me do it my way." That's why in the 90s; the crowds made noise the entire time, the bowlers trash talked each other, ect. It made it very entertaining for spectators. But it was all in the name of saving pro bowling
@@XenoGuru think about it proves my point. Pete brought the trash in the house. Just like when Steve Largent left football, so too when Anthony left bowling.
I remember this... I watched it live with my dad... side note: short people make the best bowlers... they have such a low center of balance... its easier to post... and easier to repeat
@Reality you’re dumb as fuck. Great bowlers are great bowlers. If you don’t think Belmonte could adjust to yesterday’s game or tomorrow’s game, you’re a real idiot. There’s a reason guys like PDW were great in the 80s, 90s, and into the 2010s with MUCH improved technology. If Web can go forward with the times, a great bowler in today’s game would be able to adjust to a plastic or urethane ball on shitty outdated oil patterns.
@@DuvalRypr Belmonte sucks. I don't care, can't stand the guy. 1980s PBA was the bestn in my opinion. And yes, I am sure I am smarter than you, which isn't saying much, but I am much smarter than you, dumbfuck. Lolol. Idiot.
When they were doing the rundown of the top 24 finishers, it said that Guppy Troup was from Edmond, OK. I thought he lived in Neptune Beach, FL during the late 80’s.

Bowling on tv will never be the same without Chris and no miss those Saturdays watching bowling on ABC with Bo and Chris
saturdays as a kid in the 80s was super
cartoons in the morning bowling in the afternoon
didnt get any better than that

bowled against Murtishaw in so cal in the early 80's Great stuff!
If the resin era had never come and Pete could have kept throwing urethane, he would have 80 titles by now.
8:35....NBC used that same music for Earl Anthony's "Beyond the Foul Line" segments in the fall of 1990!!!

Pete’s got more side roll while bowling against mark roth,, he’s throwing the ball different every frame.and he still wins

Webba is 62

Hey veggie--you don't know jack squat.
the second match was exciting and very close
Andrew Phillips
Mark Roth and Earl Anthony have bowled some exciting matches
George N. Pappas and Ernie Schlegel have bowled some awesome matches
Andrew Phillips the second match had a thirty pin differential, that’s not close

Mark Roth is the goat

Weber always blamed a bad shot on someone else. I think it was the coke.

Mike Aulby: 205
