What a great telecast this was with ESPN commentator babe Holly Rowe, bowling greats Chris Barnes, Brian Voss, Walter Ray Williams and Pete Weber. Oksu Palermaa thank you for the two handed demonstration.
1:22:55 Brian Voss CONVERTS 4-6-7 SPLIT!!! The 4 pin comes out from the back and takes down the 6 pin! That is the most amazing split conversion I've ever seen from Brian Voss!!
At the 1:22:56 of this, Brian Voss converts the impossible 4-6-7 split out of the pit in the 4th frame of the title game vs. Pete Weber, when the 4-pin bounced out of the pit to take out the 6-pin while the ball took out the 7-pin, and that was so very exciting & crazy. The crowd went absolutely crazy when Voss converted that impossible split in the 4th frame of the Championship match, UNBELIEVABLE

Weber has always been good if he would of lifted a little bit and got stronger so he could of put some speed and strength on the ball without having to break his form he would been better than he was .
Here’s he deal, I hate it when Randy always says league play is easy, when I bowled on men’s league it was at 8 at night, by the second game there was no oil, at all, it wasn’t easy Randy believe me, and I still finished the year at 208 average, if anyone practices enough you can bowl good on the open oil pattern, I bowled on it in the PBA experience league and it’s not as hard as he makes it sound.

A real shit kicker. Dick Weber was real class, his son a spoiled brat. All my 8 uncles were bowlers and my dad. Two of them were pinsetter mechanics. My first job was a pinchaser at 15 years old in Burien Washington at High Line Lanes. I used to bowl 30 or more games a week. My first 300 game was when I was 16. I would work the colorama on Saturday night that ended early Sunday morning at 2:30. I would get off work go turn a machine on and bowl till 7:00 in the morning. My dad would come we would have breakfast and at 8:00 I would bowl pot games with the "old men". I remember my first game I rolled a 271 and won $70 in the pot. I was gifted natural bowler but I went another way in life. And I can still through a 200 game at 62.

And it was at fort Lewis and the Yakima firing range where most of "To Hell and Back" was made. The casting director looked at my dads record and looks and used him in many parts of the movie, as my dad put it "because I was a mean looking sob to make Audie look better." If you look at this utube video, you can see my dad next to Audie at the sand bags. Audie and my dad became good friends during the making of this film. My dad is featured in 21 different scenes with Audie. The utube video is " To Hell and Back Audie Murphy US most decorated." 5.43. This is a short movie clip. My sister has a picture of my dad and Audie on the movie set in black and white.

As much as I thought bowling was dying when this aired, by comparison to today it seems alive and well.
Bowling has been doing great since it moved to CBS and FS1. I just wish Fox would stick to sports.
