Yes she basically became addicted to the sand, escaping into & living only in her dreams; her body wasted away as it was the sand the only thing keeping her alive. When she died, Dream gave her a dream of her being happy with Costantine. Dream isn't a sibling to Lucifer, he has siblings but they completely different from angels , they are called the Endless.
The Endless are the children of Time & Night.... and one thing that they have in common is that their names all start with a D.... Destiny, Death, Dream.... etc. 🙂 What you need to remember about Dream, is that he's a drama queen... lol! Even if his siblings helped back at the glass cage period, he may not have let them because of his pride. Even more so, the Endless don't meddle on each other's affairs.... usually 😏
Oooh! The next 3 episodes are HANDS DOWN some of the best episodes in any series that I've seen in the last 5+ years... I can't wait for you both to see them all (esp. #6) Until then, I'mma standby on ur notif gang 🔥
Cat's timing was absolutely on point in this episode, hit the cliffhanger ending and joined in on the "fuck it, let's go to hell" like a pro. I've literally never seen John's actor in something and not immediately thought that character is some kind of freak(good or bad), he just looks, moves, and talks weirdly.
Dream cares about humanity as a whole, less so about individual humans. He carries the entirety of human subconscious in his mind, and he is afraid that if he allowed himself to feel too much it would overwhelm him.
I love your reactions to this show. Thank you. My uncle gave me this comic to read when I was young, along with The Lord of the Rings and other epic fantasy lore. You can guess that he was my favorite family member. But I was so nervous about this adaptation. I didn’t need to be. This show is stunning. In my opinion, it’s the best thing to come from Netflix, ever. Looking forward to seeing you finish the series.
So glad you guys are reacting to this show! I read the comics when they started coming out in the late 80's. The comics were groundbreaking -- it took some DC Comics lore, and added history, myth and literature, legends and poetry ... and then freakin' swizzled it all in a huge blender. At its core, it's really a story about storytelling ... and how humanity is reflected in the stories we all tell ourselves. (That might sound cheesy but is true.) This Netflix adaptation is awesome; while some changes were made .. the spirit and heart of the story and characters are faithful to the source. Episodes 5 and 6 are some of the best "TV" that I've seen in recent memory. They say more about being human than most shows ever (pardon the pun) dream of saying. Anyway - looking forward to re-watching the rest of Season 1 with you guys. Later.
Be sure to look up John Constantine from DC. They took the character and swapped it so Jenna Coleman could play amazingly well done. The character interacts with it, a ton of others in DC one of my favorites.
God/Gods/Goddesses can die(if people stop to believe in them) the Endless(Destiny/Death/Dream/Destruction/Desire/Despair/Delirium) will always be there because people don't have to believe in their existence in order to exist. Angels/God are no relatives to the Endless
Hello JerzeyBoyz, Jenna Coleman is playing a female version of John Constantine. She is the first woman to play the role & the third actor to play the role in live action following in the footsteps of Keanu Reeves & John Ryan. I must say she nails the part & is one of the main highlights of the show. There has been talk of a spin-off focusing on her version of Constantine. If this is the case, I'm on board. What do you think? I also recommend that you watch "Wednesday."
The Lucifer you know and love first appeared in the Sandman series of comics. I don’t think the producers thought the comic book version would sit well with viewers so they changed the format loosely basing on the comic. They did take some elements from the comic. Tom Ellis’ version is not much different than in the comics. The biggest difference was Tom’s version learned to respect humans Sandman version does not. He is just as funny in his comics and he faces other worldly foes. There would be no point to fight a human and he almost never fights he uses intellect rather than brawn. This series you are watching is a pure masterpiece in my opinion.

Mad Hetty referred to Dream as "the Oneiromancer." It's an old Greek title.

It’s so faithful that even episode 2 is shorter than episode 1, just as issue 2 is several pages shorter than issue 1. 😉

I think the movie rights to John Constantine were held by someone else so they used a relative,Joanna Constantine.
It was something like that yes. I’m just saying the role in the comic was johns but swapped in the show
There are a ton of connections tot the greater DC continuity in the comics. I think it was a smart move to hide or remove those for the show.

As I like to put it, gods and The Endless are both facts of the universe. The Endless are more essential facts than gods are.
shoutout to the pigeon lady from home alone 2!!!! i thought the same thing lmao

haha for a few weeks now!!
Just sop you know, the Lucifer from that show is based on the lucifer from the Sandman comic.
You really need to make a habit of going back after you talk over stuff.
This is awesome. You need marketing, look into Promo-SM!!
