Nice truck. I have a 77 GMC Seirra Grande long box with original cordoba brown paint and factory 305 w/ rochester 2 barrel and 3 on the tree. I'm getting ready to refresh my motor since my throwout bearing is shot. Figured a good time to pull the motor! Stay well brother.
Love your truck . I have a 1976 Suburban with a Dana 44 front end and a gm 14 bolt full float rear end . The body is solid but has a lot of patina and the interior is shot from sitting in the California sun since 1994 . it's back in Michigan now where it was born. I would love to have your Transfer case though , I have the NP203 .
I am preparing to swap engines in my k20 with sm465, I see you left the trans in. Is it hard to get the input shaft lined up when you reinstall?? Tips?
It can be tricky yes. With the engine out I would jack up the bell housing side of the transmission slightly to allow for better alignment as you're installing the engine. I've never done it without some sort of wiggling though. Best of luck and thanks for watching
Always check new camshafts lobes, should have .003 grind difference on each lobe, that is what makes lifters rotate camshaft failures are bad grinds not camshaft hardness, also grab 2 new lifters back to back should have wobble, you do not want a flat lifter.
Hi if you can reply to me that would be great I’m working on my SBC 305 small block and I live in Cali which means emissions problems like passing smog what line did you pull from your charcoal canister ? And also did you do an egr delete
@@bradsbuilds gotcha , I think the plan for mine is to keep all emissions but you have inspired me to try and rebuild my 305 really good video by the way keep them coming
@@bradsbuilds should of measured each camshaft lobes for at least .003 difference that is what makes lifters rotate, most camshaft failures are bad machining not metal hardness
That truck is fire. Love that color and stripes

My canister is basically just there as a placeholder. Most of the emissions junk was removed from the truck when I bought it.

I appreciate that! I'll do my best to keep rolling out content! Thank you for watching!
Did u use zink on break in ?
Yes.
One last thing aluminum intake is weak when pulling better to pull in take use head intake bolts.
Also run new engine at start up to 2000 rpm to polish new camshaft and lifters with zinc additive, set timing after startup.
Absolutely. I followed the recommended break in procedure with high zinc break in oil. Seems to have worked well.

I agree. Thanks for the tip
