Holy fuck bro! Your blew my mind highlighting Undead vs Mels Shadow demons. I'm reading The Legend of Drizzt and you can tell GRRM is a big fanboy from all the references like Daemons or the sword Blackfyre. But I'm up to the Neverwinter Saga where Neverwinter is fending off attack from both Necromancers and Shadow Devils who are both at war with each other. Another epic faction in this Song if Mel boosts her numbers, I always wondered where the shadow babies go, like never says they go away after their job is done. Dope when you seen the secret figuring GRRM commissioned which looks like a Ice version of Mel
I think that's a good catch about Stannis and stone dragons - I wouldn't have caught that on my own, but now that it's been pointed out, this is hardly the first time that Stannis has been linked to stone. In this setting, there certainly doesn't seem to be any one "right way" to do elemental magic - certainly we're pretty well aware of Fire and Ice, but the Children of the Forest and the Crannogmen seem skilled in "Green magic" with green dreams and great magical trees and such to work with... the Crannogmen also seem skilled in Water magic along with the Ironborn and others around the world, with hints of influences from or over strange aquatic monsters and Ironborn reborn as "Water Wights"... Melisandre seems to deal somewhat in Fire magic, but more precisely in the interplay between light and shadow, conjuring a shadow assassin to slay Stannis' enemies and deceiving those who look upon her will illusions of light to conceal her true age... Blood Magic makes its appearance over and over again. So why not Stone magic? What might "Stone Wights", for example, look like? Well, we probably don't need to think very hard about that, we already have some hints of that in the Stone Men, victims of the "Greyscale" disease, led by a Stone King. It's not hard, in light of those ice dragons and the TV show's icy Dragon Wight, to imagine a stone dragon, and Stannis imagines exactly that. Is it silly to suppose this is something of a "Stone Dream" for Stannis, his equivalent to Melisandra's visions from the fire, or Jojen's "Green Dreams", or whatever weird visions under the sea that Patchface utters to a deaf audience? And why wouldn't Stannis, an explicitly stone-cold and hard man for his supporters to love, be so intimately linked to "Stone Magic" in that way? Not only is Stannis a seemingly perfect embodiment of the element of stone in every way, but his very home is a cold, hard rock of a castle (a place literally called "Dragonstone", built/carved in stone to resemble great stone dragons), and even his daughter, Shireen, has been kissed by the Greyscale, a disease that should have turned her completely to stone, but yet she lives, with very little explanation for how that is possible when all the efforts of the Maesters and healers and magicians that Stannis and his wife could find to try to help seemed impotent to stop it. If ANYONE in the stories so far is capable of rousing a Stone Dragon - perhaps one turned to stone via Greyscale after exposure to the stuff in the land of the Stone Men near doomed Valyria, than surely it is Stannis the stone-hearted! But, I'm not so sure there's a literal stone dragon to be raised by Stannis - Dany's vision seems to be symbolic, allegorical, crafted in the veiled language of dreams, riddles, and prophecies... we might well imagine the Drum Tower of Dragonstone to be the birthplace of a "great stone beast" in the form of Stannis, breathing shadowy death upon the world thanks to Mellisandra's sinister powers!
The shadow fire is what gets me. I usually agree with the fandom about most of the common well known theories but a greyscale pandemic in Westeros is just insane. I have never, for a single second, thought that would happen. The greyscale is just to give Jon Connington a dire sense of urgency, nothing more, there will not be a greyscale plague in Westeros, that would be a ridiculous crysis to solve on top of a billion things we already have. I am not saying this because I think it would be a bad plot decision, I do think it would be bad but, for example, Tyrion being a Targaryen is something I hate with a passion but that unfortunately seems to be a given due to all the signs.
The first part is about young Giff, the mummer's dragon (Varys and Illyrio Mopatis), and the stone beast is 100% Jonh Connington grayscale outbreak. The shandoew fire is less clear. The stone tower could be storm's end. If they take Kings Landings, then maybe the bells and wildfire make sense with his mental health might push him to try and correct the battle of the bells. Slayer of Lies is revealing Aegon is a Blackfire. Like bride of Fire after talking about Jon Snow. Just my option but no one can know until winds!
Hey I just found your channel and will be binging your videos. I have heard a lot of theories about the stone beast but nothing seems to fit at all at least at this point. Do you think it could be related to the dragon bran sees rising out of Winterfell? Bran while in summer sees a shadow breathing flame rising from winterfell this could also be relating to Jon or that there was a dragon sleeping in winterfell as some think I would like to hear your thoughts on a possible correlation? Great vid btw
Thank you for stopping by the channel. I did not consider if the stone beast could be the possible dragon Summer saw. I have to check the text again to see if that serpent shape rose from a smoking tower or if a tower was visible nearby
I can't help thinking that bit was meant to be allegorical: Jon "Snow" Targaryan is theoretically a "dragon" sleeping at and arising from Winterfell, after all, in the round-about language of riddles and prophecies. Much like the Stone Dragon from Dany's dream sounds like it's running on the round-about language of riddles and prophecies more than it is a literal prediction of an actual stone dragon appearing. That said, the imagination is certainly fired by the picture of a literal stone dragon sleeping beneath Winterfell, to be raised up to fight for Jon and Dany against the Others... it's quite an irresistible idea!
We dont know how old dragons get. Balerion died but maybe also due to the wounds he got when he got back from Valyria and we dont know what maybe lived within him at that point. Remember the princess fate who went with him... And Balerion was Daenys dragon - so i reckon that he would be more than 300 years old.
I think the beast is a reference to Euron Grayjoy. He currently does the Seastone chair. If I'm not mistaken, the Seastone chair was the same from the Gray King mythology and is made from Nagga's bones. However, my argument does hinge on the theory that Nagga's bones are actually petrified weirwoods. I'm not here to debate anyone, but feel free to correct me if anything was incorrect or share your thoughts on general.
The thing is, not a single one of the characters is connected with multiple visions. That is, Jon is already connected with the vision of blue rose on the wall, therefore the stone beast vision cannot be something that is related to Jon. Think it this way, no more than one vision for any character or any events. That said, I think the stone beast vision can be of Euron and the tower might be Hightower, because Euron can't be matched up with any other visions of Dany.
The foreshadowing about th stone beats could be about Stannis. He's on Dragon Stone where there are literally gargoyles statues and dragon statues made of stone. He doesn't make his moves until he leaves Dragon stone and he has a red woman who's from Ashai which is known as the shadows lands that could be the shadow fire part. Stannis also has blue eyes unlike Jon who has Grey eyes....the prophecy or visions fit Stannis more than Jon to be honest
Probably get this a lot, but how do you contextualize the parallels and rhymes in the books? How much weight do you give them in predicting? Nice summary of the stone beast. There are a couple other options, honestly far less likely. Part of the triplet you mentioned recently shook out something I think might be interesting. "..a rose...filled the air with sweetness." Mentioned in relation to the translation of a ship as the "stinking steward" I noticed something interesting. Jon is a Steward on the Wall. If that rose is symbolic of Jon then we have a perfumed rose that's also a steward. Thought?
theres actually evidence the cannibal may not be a Valarian dragon but rather from a line of native westeroes dragons or a line from vishai and GRRM did say that native westeroes dragons aged and grew slower then valarian dragons meaning cannibal could still be alive as GRRM stated the native westeroes dragons could live for 1000+ years so if he is infact a different species of non valarian dragon then the 200-220 year age limit for valarian dragons would not apply to him.
The show is not accurate to the books concerning the ice dragon. They took Danys dragon and turned it to ice when they could’ve just had the WW’s find and ice dragon. Martin wrote about ice dragons in a short story as well so no reason they couldn’t have just given the WW’s one in the show. They already ride ice spiders and giants and giant polar bears
My guess is that it would have been too convenient to give the Night King a dragon. Having him kill one of Dany's and steal it from her makes for a more dramatic storyline (even if it doesn't work that well)
Melisandre knows there is power in blood. And that is common. But there is more power in King's blood.... So....how powerful would her magic be if she used Dragon blood? With Danaerys heading to the wall, it would put the Dragons close to Melisandre. And she might engineer an opportunity to get a sample of that. Cast a shadow dragon of some sort.
The great stone beast is a lie that Daenerys must slay. The Great Stone Beast will probably be Azor Ahai, but it will be revealed that he is not a hero but for the contrary the villain to be defeated. And it will be related to the Stone Kings in Winterfell. Now, If you read closely the Grey King from the Iron Islands was said to be the killer of a weirwood. Then the King of the First Men was said to be turned into a Grey cadaver-like after he killed his brother who was a Green Men. Then the epidemic of greyscale was a curse done by Garin after the valyrians burned with his blood magic dragons all his people and destroyed all his beautiful cities that were protected by nature Green magic. What I am trying to say is that, everytime that something or someone is turned into grey/ stone is due to the profanation of Green magic by Blood magic done through human sacrifices. What makes me think that the Starks also practiced blood magic, what Bran saw in his last chapter was the ritual done to achieve something, that something was probably related to the creation of those Stone Kings. Guys, GRRM is totally fooling us. Those damn Kings are not there to protect anyone, they probably are the freaking enemy.😂😂
I assumed it referred to Jon since he was born in northern dorne, making him a stoney dormishmen and since hes likely Targaryen, hes a stone dragon. Very literal I know 😂
Balerion likely died due to becoming weakened by the same red worm parasites that Princess Aerea became infested with, not old age. I daresay Cannibal could very much still be alive.
I think GRRM put a lot into the House of the Undying to firstly hide a massive clue about who is the offspring of R+l "Drink from the cup of ice, dri k from the cup of fire, Mother of Dragons", i mean come on GRRM. The blue flower in the wall isnt about this at all. Jons next chapter he learns about Bale the Bard and begins to sympathize with the wildlings and his relationship with Yigrette starts and it will eventually lead to his stabbing. Some of these visions will not come to pass, some will, and some already have, basically its GRRMs gardening style of writting.

I have not heard the Cannibal being a different species. I have heard theories the Cannibal is of a different bloodline than the rest of the dragons on Dragonstone. This might be worth making a video on
@@KevinPendragon Yea that is what I meant they say Cannibal was around before the Targaryens arrived and while everyone associates Dragons with Valyria there were said to be dragons in Westeros before the Targaryens arrived and of course Dragons around Asshai etc. Then there is Ice and sea dragon stories. The point is we shouldn't use the Targaryen Dragons to compare to Cannibal since there doesn't seem to be a connection. The only dragon known to have died of old age was Balerion and I don't think that means all dragons would die around the same age as him. Cannibal was likely the oldest dragon in Westeros but he was likely smaller than Vhagar despite being Older so there does appear to be differences.
@@rickyhunt4075But you forget that therr is NO RECORD of the Cannibal whatsoever until the Dance. And the rumors about the Cannibal were started by smallfolk. As well as the Cannibal despite his diet of eggs and dragons, nested near other bigger dragons and never tried to eat Vermithor for example. I think the history books would have some record of a dragon as big or near the size of Balerion or Vhagar.
@@Ashbrash1998 I never said Cannibal was bigger and it was recorded by the Maesters. The Smallfolk btw have been proven right a few times in the story.
I think it's Jon Con. I think we jump to dragon because of the wings but the grayscale causing madness and fire and blood makes sense
This author really has a lot of us going insane now. He has decided to lay down all this backdrop first before continuing with the next book. I'm really glad he has this success, it was overdue. But at least he made it.
Amazing quality bro please keep it up
Thank you!
Hey brother, fantastic video!
I just thought about the greyscale and those ending in fire, what if the grey plague will run rampant and the only way to stop it is to use dragonfire to burn away parts of some population,,,thus ending in fire?
Take care brother,

I forgot to include the Ice Melisandre figure in the video! Damn. She's literally the corpse queen
@@KevinPendragon Tricksy bish!! I love her
I think that's a good catch about Stannis and stone dragons - I wouldn't have caught that on my own, but now that it's been pointed out, this is hardly the first time that Stannis has been linked to stone.
@@KevinPendragon I have often thought there was a connection but I could be wrong of course
11:27 that was Salladhor Saan who said that, not Davos.
Yes. You're right.
We dont know how old dragons get. Balerion died but maybe also due to the wounds he got when he got back from Valyria and we dont know what maybe lived within him at that point. Remember the princess fate who went with him... And Balerion was Daenys dragon - so i reckon that he would be more than 300 years old.
The wolves in the crypt in Ned's chapter are described as having GREAT STONE HEADS.
There’s a lot still out there in Daeny’s visions, and who knows how it will all play out at this point, especially without the Winds of Winter
We will have to talk more about her other visions sometime in the future
@@KevinPendragonyes that would be great
Jon is the winged wolf
Wings from Targ
Wolf from Stark
Jon is the stone beast
Resurrected, for sure
Maybe stone from Shireen
It’s all about Jon
Thought?
Could Cannibal be an undead dragon? Maybe The Others will use a Wight Dragon to burn down the wall?
theres actually evidence the cannibal may not be a Valarian dragon but rather from a line of native westeroes dragons or a line from vishai and GRRM did say that native westeroes dragons aged and grew slower then valarian dragons meaning cannibal could still be alive as GRRM stated the native westeroes dragons could live for 1000+ years so if he is infact a different species of non valarian dragon then the 200-220 year age limit for valarian dragons would not apply to him.
Having him kill one of Dany's and steal it from her makes for a more dramatic storyline (even if it doesn't work that well)
One other possibility is that the "Great Stone Beast"is in fact Sir Robert Stone AKA The Mountain that Rides
I don't remember Alduin being in ASOIAF😊
Ragnar seems to be the most important character within this book series
Euron throwing rocks with catapults

Jon Con and the Lax Cleanliness standards casually going to cause a Gray Scale Plague that will put the Pale Mare to shame
Now,
If you read closely the Grey King from the Iron Islands was said to be the killer of a weirwood.
Very literal I know 😂
eek...Ice Dragons.
Would be a bad turning to have Ice Dragons after Martin says there's no such thing in interviews.
I also think the stone beast could have something to do with Gargoyles. No concrete reason. ;) just to a hunch.
Balerion likely died due to becoming weakened by the same red worm parasites that Princess Aerea became infested with, not old age. I daresay Cannibal could very much still be alive.
that background music is doing something with me after watching a video and just feels wrong that the music also stops
Nah, I don't believe she will go mad like in the show, as her whole arc is about giving up on Westerosi queenship

Isn't Drogon's fire blackish? Like a shadow...a shadow fire. It could be him
I think GRRM put a lot into the House of the Undying to firstly hide a massive clue about who is the offspring of R+l "Drink from the cup of ice, dri k from the cup of fire, Mother of Dragons", i mean come on GRRM.
