Great video I installed the Australian version dmx9720xds a couple of weeks ago, love how quick it connects wireless to apple car play and the sound quality is amazing also did a focal speaker upgrade.
I’m in Australia too (Sydney) and these HU has been spinning in my head for a while… Did you need a kit harness (to retain steering wheel controls) and a fascia to install these monster. I own a Mazda MPS BL with factory Bose system. Thanks in advance 🤙🏻
@@HeliMicky Finally I got it..!!! Also I’ve bought complete Aerpro harness kit (fascia included) to make connection plug n play. In the stereo bay I have 3 harness from the car (main harness, antenna & AUX Input harness). Aerpro complete kit came with AUX IN harness but no where to connect to the HU. Main harness & antenna are connected to HU thou.. Should I leave the the AUX IN harness from the car unplugged..??
@@juanpalomino7043 I assume the AUX in is a 3.5 mini jack on the front of the dash for audio connections, didn't use it in my install as I don't have anything anymore to plug into it. Make sure you test everything before the finial install.
@@HeliMicky Thanks mate, I did try it but was unsuccessful with the installation (I’m not a radio guy 😂). Once restrictions are lifted, I’ll take it to a car radio stereo shop for the job
@@quillen7659 no you can't. the camera only gets power when the backup lights are on, which also triggers the screen to switch to the camera. the cam button is more for the dash cam (which I now have). I don't think the auto switch would work if you gave power to the backup camera all the time.
Great video see your talented on the install. But to me I'm thinking it's a distraction when your driving mind you I like to listen to good music as well but that big screen at night might be a problem. Here in Ontario they have hands free driving and you would probably get ticketed for using it. One other thought you said you live good area where there are no thieves but you never know were idiots are. Great video thanks have a good day.
So at night you can turn the screen off if it is distracting. For me I don't mess with it after the car is moving except for the volume which is why I wanted a knob so I don't have to look at the screen. But to each his own. Thanks for watching!
1. how do you route a microphone to the unit? in newer cars could you use the factory microphone built into the vehicle? 2. could you use reverse cameras to wire in the other cameras inputs? it has 4 total: dash cam integration, reverse cam & two other ones for let's say blind spot cameras.
I don't know how it would work with the factory mic, there is an adapter you can get for oem functionality. and yes you could wire more cameras in up to 4.
@@HumbleAcres I finished installing mine yesterday. Great unit! This is going to sound stupid, but I can't figure out how to actually turn the HD radio off? Do you know how to do that? Thanks!
I didn't connect the speed wire. The first time you drive the car it will give you a message saying its not connected and that's it. Everything works fine without it.
