This song is a time travel machine. I hear it and I am young again, feeling those feelings I had when I first heard it..... He never got the attention he deserved!
If you write it, you sing it”. All terrific musicians. Henley introduced Linda Ronsteadt to r & B a Hall of Fame. He did great*. Everyone loves Linda. I think Willie Nelson said something like- In a group of ❤one hundred men, 50 love her, the other 50 are dead
Glenn, Timothy and Randy were always my favorites of the Eagles, you cannot beat Timothy voice and although Don and Joe were usually front and center on guitar, I always preferred Glenn and his style of play which is why I loved his solo career, he kept that bluesy sound in much of his music. This particular song is probably my favorite Eagles song, wonderful bass line and chill drum give it that chill laid back feel, Timothy's vocals are perfect and Glenn's playing of the guitar sets it over the top. As once stated by one of the band members, "it was like Glenn was making love with the guitar". This one of those songs that you just don't want to end.
One of my favorite Eagles songs. So pretty. The lush strings way in the back. The great lyrics. Timothy's angelic voice. The perfect backing harmonies. And, of course, that gorgeous extended guitar outro. They were so amazing. Thanks for this.
should be a whole crowd of people wanting to comment on this fantastic track. The Eagles, once heard, never forgotten. Thanks for bringing this one back to the waiting world!!
There was never a bad lineup of the Eagles. Such a consistent brand of talent. I do feel bad for Randy Meisner. He was a gentle soul and wasn't treated the best by his bandmates but his contributions especially for Take It to the Limit can't be understated
It's pronounced "Fry" as in fry an egg. This song, along with another Eagles song "The Best of My Love" are my tied for first place favorite songs of all time. Simply beautiful beyond words.
This song came off an album called "The Long Run". Give that LP a listen and I promise you won't be disappointed. These guys were always on the soundtrack when I was growing up back in the 70's.
I have seen them twice and their harmonies and they play multiple instruments. Each time, they blow you away. ❤ Every girl in the late 1970s had a crush on Timothy Schmitt with his long black hair. He is older in this video but his voice melts you. Love Don Felder on guitar.
50+ years on, I still have a crush on Timothy B Schmit! He has the voice of an angel with his beautiful spirit shining through, and that gorgeous hair looks just as good gray. 😍😉
Another great song by Timothy b Schmidt in the eagles was Love Will keep Us alive they didn't let him sing so low very much but it's just as good as I can't Tell you why
I've seen them twice both times with Timothy. Their harmonies and abilities to play multiple instruments is unmatched. I've been to many concerts and Eagles are in the top favorite. Graduated in 77 and every girl had a crush on Timothy. Goosebumps for their 3 hour concerts. ❤
1973. Driving with my ex-girlfriend. Best of my love plays on the tape and she says This song reminds me of you. Then I can't tell you why comes on. Great drive!
Eagles one of my fav bands...but it's like they have 2 catalogues of music to me....the hokey psuedo-country genre stuff, new kid in town/etc., then the slick and refined adult-contemporary that seems more polished and high-rent, like this.
Funny you mention the Bee Gees, they wrote the song "In the city" performed by the Eagles and featured in the movie The Warriors. The Bee Gees also wrote the song Grease for the movie Grease.
Ahhhh, The Eagles! Some great music! Wish we had some of this now! Great reaction! You point out so many reasons why the music of yesterday is so much better than the phony 7/11 music they make today. (7/11 music is seven lyrics repeated eleven times 🤣). Enjoy hearing your perspective!
One thing about The Eagles, you will always be able to sing along at their concerts, because they sound the same live as they do in the studio, and I absolutely love that kind of consistency. There are a phenomenal band, with amazing harmonies, and timeless songs.
The Eagles' style was not my taste, but the quality of what they did - music, harmonies, lyrics, soulful quality. I always enjoy hearing it very much. I wish more songs had Bernie Leadon as lead, and several of my favorites are sung by Meisner.
You def have to react to Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry.” Incredible comment on the state of journalism that’s even truer today than it was when it was first released.
Hmmm…didn’t realize this was an Eagle tune because I was really young in their prime. They have so many sounds and singers. Schmidt is good on this song. I don’t like him or Frye doing Take it to the Limit because I like Randy Meisner on that one. Good band to explore. Great review!
Written by Henley and Danny Kortchmar, lately of The Immediate Family, who has played with an incredible array of the best - like the other members of TIF.
Another great reaction to a great band! Glenn Frey use to say Timothy B. Schmidt was the “icing on the cake….the bow on the present”, as he added something extra special when he joined them in 1977. This is from their Farewell 1 Tour: Live from Melbourne in Nov 2004….which was 175 minutes recorded video. Timothy is from the band Poco…..who had a several great hits. Btw….the guitarist who played with them on this tour that you were eyeing is Steuart Smith, who is just an excellent musician & who usually plays with them since this tour.
I was about to talk about Steuart Smith. He rarely gets a mention but he's been an integral member of the Eagles touring band since 2001. Like all the others he's a very talented musician (on several instruments). He deserves some credit.
OMG I love the eagles & this song. Please react to the cover of an R&B group called Brownstone (from Michael Jackson's label). Beautiful rendition. I loved w/the instrumental, but I love the acapella. Amazing
This song is a time travel machine. I hear it and I am young again, feeling those feelings I had when I first heard it..... He never got the attention he deserved!
Timothy has the voice of an angel.
"He can sing baby." He wouldn't be a member of the Eagles if he couldn't. They only allowed top notch singers, songwriters and musicians in the group.
Super arrangement, song, singer, terrific record!

Timmy came from POCO....who were formed out of Buffalo Springfield.....keep diving
Love them remember them long ago. Music back then was the best. Brings back memories.
Not only can they all sing but they can also all play every instrument. There will never be another band like them
What about The Band? They were pretty good multi instrument musicians and most of them sang too
Haunting song. The Eagles had several.
One of my favorite Eagles songs. So pretty. The lush strings way in the back. The great lyrics. Timothy's angelic voice. The perfect backing harmonies. And, of course, that gorgeous extended guitar outro. They were so amazing. Thanks for this.
The Eagles have a powerhouse of singers. Great choice.
I don’t know of a better band, vocals, musicality and the Quality of their live shows. just amazing.
It makes me so happy to see a younger person appreciate this beautiful music. This song is soulful. 🥰
His first and one of, if not, their very best!
should be a whole crowd of people wanting to comment on this fantastic track. The Eagles, once heard, never forgotten. Thanks for bringing this one back to the waiting world!!

They treated Dan Felder like shit too
@@SciTrekMan yes I think I saw him tell the story on Howard Stern. It was unbelievable.
Randy had his problems and was not able to carry on. I think many people underestimate the pressures of fame and singing.
@Randy marsh wtf?????????
Stuart Smith is the new guitarist check hotel california from the same concert
Evocative. Beautiful.
It's pronounced "Fry" as in fry an egg. This song, along with another Eagles song "The Best of My Love" are my tied for first place favorite songs of all time. Simply beautiful beyond words.
One band who was just as good live as in the studio. I remember a lot of slow dances to this song.
Have ALWAYS loved this song. Great vocals, great lyrics, great music PERIOD. Blue-eye soul at it's best.
Funny you mention The Bee Gees, the guitarist who does the solo is Stuart Smith, who was the guitarist for The Bee Gees
This song came off an album called "The Long Run". Give that LP a listen and I promise you won't be disappointed. These guys were always on the soundtrack when I was growing up back in the 70's.
Hello from Cody Wyoming! Timothy B Schmidt. Enough said... you're awesome dude keep it up☺
This was really good but I prefer the version from "The Hell Freezes Over" tour. But a beautiful either way. 🙂
I have seen them twice and their harmonies and they play multiple instruments. Each time, they blow you away. ❤ Every girl in the late 1970s had a crush on Timothy Schmitt with his long black hair. He is older in this video but his voice melts you. Love Don Felder on guitar.
That's not Don Felder in this video.
I agree
Love Will keep us alive is one of my favorites that Timothy sings.

a beautiful ballad
TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT! Gotta do it! Timothy B Schmidt’s voice and this signature song is just the best. ❤
Take It To The Limit was always sung by Randy Meisner. Deacon Frey, Glenn's son, has sung the lead on the last tour and at the Sphere.
Funny you mention the Bee Gees, they wrote the song "In the city" performed by the Eagles and featured in the movie The Warriors. The Bee Gees also wrote the song Grease for the movie Grease.
Love this song, this is one of their best. If you want to hear the harmonies, you should check out Seven Bridges Road.
I agree. Seven Bridges Road is excellent
Amazing song. Timeless.
Hello 1 of the most beautiful love Song for me!!!..smooth..lots of love..good job..🔥💓
70s Baby ! You can't touch that!
You could melt a girl with this song
Brings back memories of great music!
I love the way he sings this song. I love the Eagles n this song
Amazing Eagles! 🇧🇷❤️ Timothy B. Schmit Beautiful Voice!
I agree
Beautiful voice and beautiful man
Ear candy and eye candy. 😍
Always thought Glen Frey was the lead on Vocals. Thanks for letting me know it was Timothy. Schmidt
Unless your a Bassist or had tried to sing while playing the Bass, IT’S FREAKING HARD!!!
Ask that little known bloke what's his name er McCartney was it I think
Luke close to tears.
One thing about The Eagles, you will always be able to sing along at their concerts, because they sound the same live as they do in the studio, and I absolutely love that kind of consistency. There are a phenomenal band, with amazing harmonies, and timeless songs.
BEST GROUP EVER!!!
So happy someone did a reaction to this song!
My fave Eagles song....and Stuart on that guitar is amazing
Prefer him or Don Felder playing this song?
Fantastic song and performance. Your facial expressions say it all.
Stewart Smith still plays with them, and ROCKS!!
It’s “Steuart” Smith
One of my all time favorite songs!!!
Magical song indeed.
Luke you're great podcast with your music videos and love you giving us great delicious music
My favorite Eagles song. such a smooth groove.
Always a great song, but replacing Felder on lead is something that never should have happened.
There's a lot to like here, but I'll point out Don Felder's beautifully understated guitar work.
This is a great version, but the Hell Freezes Over version hits better in terms of Timothy's voice plus Don Felder's solo
Now that damn song!!!
Well said 😁
My favorite eagles song, favorite eagles ALBUM
The Eagles' style was not my taste, but the quality of what they did - music, harmonies, lyrics, soulful quality. I always enjoy hearing it very much. I wish more songs had Bernie Leadon as lead, and several of my favorites are sung by Meisner.
Hear this remember who you with.
Now's a good time to let you know Glenn pronounces his name f r y, the e is slient
I love this song so much, hope you can tell me why❤️❤️❤️
That guitarist is ok but Felder was so much better
You def have to react to Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry.” Incredible comment on the state of journalism that’s even truer today than it was when it was first released.
great reaction little brother
I love this hit much more than Hotel California.
You were feeling it right along with me 💜💜💜💜💜
Here's one from when he was in the band Poco, you'll like this one too! "Keep On Tryin" ua-cam.com/video/iU-koApbClU/v-deo.html
Enjoyed your reaction to brother!!!
It also has country in it big time! That’s what’s makes the eagles such a outstanding unique band!
Haha I read the number you are way over 100k congrats to you
Timothy has been with the band since 1977. He wrote this song. He also just released a new solo record and its great.
Nice one....can u react to spandau ballet-true? Its a great classic song...
Great reaction great song incredible band you should have minimum 100k scribes
STILL Brilliant 2021
Love your reaction to Timothy B Schmidt
Yes
I am wondering how British love the Eagles and musicians from the 🇺🇸 USA
Hmmm…didn’t realize this was an Eagle tune because I was really young in their prime. They have so many sounds and singers. Schmidt is good on this song. I don’t like him or Frye doing Take it to the Limit because I like Randy Meisner on that one. Good band to explore. Great review!
"New York minute" is also a great song by the Eagles.
Written by Henley and Danny Kortchmar, lately of The Immediate Family, who has played with an incredible array of the best - like the other members of TIF.
Hear it live in oerson.Great vocals.
If this doesn't get you in the mood there is something wrong with you!😘

@@BoingBB No doubt👍!
Thank you for spelling Steuart's name right. But it's Schmit, no D, not Schmidt.
OMG I love the eagles & this song. Please react to the cover of an R&B group called Brownstone (from Michael Jackson's label). Beautiful rendition. I loved w/the instrumental, but I love the acapella. Amazing
i though bee gees and then you said it.
Listen to "Rose of Cimmaron"
For something a little faster, try - Life in the Fast Lane
Awesome song
There will be peeace forever
You should have watched the original video from 1979
😀
❤
Someone please tell me who the guitar player is? I don't recognize him.
Steuart Smith
Henley just struck Black Pegasus twice for copyright. You might not want to react to the eagles any more
I love British musicians and their 🎶
Me too.
Glenn Frey pronounced Fry.
same time as the beegees. the eagles are harder
I think we have all worked out the simple message of the song Mr Freud.
You’re not really qualified to judge because you didn’t know the competition or feel the times. But nice try.
Hes very knowledgeable. Speak for yourself
The point of these videos is for people who weren't at a listening age back then to appreciate the song and spread the word.
