Congrats Kayla on the new card! It definitely has a very unique look to it, and is great to access those Admirals Clubs! Nice SUB and CL 👍!
I really like the look. Very unique. She was excited for the approval!!!!
Congrats on the CC! There's not a whole lot of benefits on it other than Admiral's Club and Alaska Lounge access. It is nice to add the AU's for free. Thanks for the info + video!
Agreed. Great sign up offer. Probably won’t keep it around for year two unless they make some changes to the benefits.
Great video as usual Brandon! I applied for this card on Sunday and was approved. I got it mainly for the lounge access. I’m based out of ORD and this is pretty much my only realistic option of lounge access at ORD. This is the 4th AA card that I’ve opened this year. I really like how much easier it is to open AA cards as opposed to United because of 5/24.
Agreed on the ease of getting approved. Really bummed with the lounge options at ORD. We fly through there frequently.
I just got this card a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are with the ORD lounges. Plus having the free checked bags and the priority check ins and boarding will be nice.
I heard that American lounges are getting packed. Do you feel like it’s getting too crowded
Congratulations on your approval! For myself, I think the 50k miles on the lower version that has the first year annual fee waved is better offer, but I travel alone and can see how getting this card could work out better for people with families.
You are 100% correct. Everyone has different needs and every card has its place.
Congrats on your new beautiful Citi Addvantage Executive Card. Welcome to our team (even if is just for one year) i guess you won’t need to worry about the rumors about the potential AF increase to $600 with potential new statements credits since your planning to have it potentially for just one year. Anyway, cheers 🥃
We’ll keep an eye on it. I’ll be curious to see if and when those rumors come to fruition. If the offer is good enough and the right credits are added, then I’ll have to reevaluate. We shall see!
@@thebrandonboydshow 😂. For me this card will stay with me till death do us apart regardless of the rumored changes. 👍
If you fly AA, this is definitely a keeper card. You can get authorized user cards for free, giving them AAdmirals club access as well... effectively splitting the fee amongst the users. Great video!
Great point. Right now we are using this card basically to earn a bunch of AA miles while we have companion pass for southwest. We use that primarily for the BOGO flights. We did need these AA miles for some trips in 2024.
Great video, Brandon. I personally don't value the Admirals Club access, so I've picked up the Barclays Biz Aviator 80k offer and waived AF for both P2 and myself. 160k AA miles for $0 AF, not a bad deal!
We picked up one of those as well. Great offer especially with that first year AF. Good call!
I have both the Citi Aadvantage Executive card and the Barclays Aadvantage Aviator Business card. I do plan on keeping the Citi Aadvantage card for AA lounge access as I do fly through ORD. I may keep both since one is personal and one is business, not sure on that yet though. I do like both of those cards. One great thing about the Barclays AAdvantage Business card is that it has Chip & Pin.
I’ve got the aviator business as well. Grabbed the 80k bonus.
I think your spot on. I'm disappointed that the AU doesn't have the same Membership as the primary card holder but I understand. You really need to be a American Airlines Frequent flyer to get your return on this card year over year. suppose the luggage with family could also make it worthy of keeping but for me I would need to PC after 1 year, if there is a decent retention offer then sure Ill always take that, but also interested in PCing to a second CCC
This card definitely makes sense for AA frequent flyers. The AF will make this card a hard sell for a lot of people, but that’s okay. Every card has its place.
We did the exact same thing. 80k was worth it since we will book a handful of AA flights in the next year for 4 people. Already received the 50k sign up bonus for the platinum card.
We’re happy with this one. Gotta rack up those AA miles. Lots of travel next year!
Brandon, are you able to access the Admirals Club WHEN FLYING JETBLUE using your Citi AA Executive World Elite Mastercard Credit Card if you are NOT the primary cardholder but an Authorized User?
Make sure you product change this card to something useful like a double cash after one year. 30k is a nice credit limit and Citi merchant offers have been fire lately for Sam's Club, Uber, Uber Eats and more.
Good tip. Love the double cash I. The spot as well. Great catch all card!
FYI...I've seen signs for this card in airports near the AAdmirals Clubs with an 85K offer.
I’ve seen varying offers hovering around that mark. I’ll keep an eye out for the airport offers! Thanks!
For the Admiral's Club access. Are you able to enter if you are flying on another airline or do you have to have a boarding pass with American Airlines or one of their Oneworld partners? Is the card sufficient enough?
You never told us the difference between Admirals Club membership and just access. Can you clarify?
Hello
would you happen to know if your spouse can enter a partner lounge (One world such as Qatar or British Lounge) with the primary cardholder?
Does it offer travel protections? Any "travel" card that doesn't offer travel protections is not worth applying for, let alone paying a hefty annual fee of nearly $500. The only card I would consider is the Citi Premier, and even that is only to harvest its $800 SUB.
When did the 80,000 miles welcome offer start? I am waiting to apply since it is currently 50,000 miles and do not want to miss out on any additional bonus offers.
I would have to research and find the date. From previous experience they run this promo at least twice per year. If you can, just wait for it to come back around.
Do you know if this was shipped next day air like most premium cards? I know the approval page said something like 7-10 days.
They told us it was but it took forever to arrive.
This card is kind of a wash. It’s a premium credit card without the premium perks, other than admirals club. $450 should provide much more than what this looks to skate by on. Congrats on the approval and even more, happy flights!
I can’t argue with that. That’s why we don’t plan on keeping it after the first year. We’ll take the admirals club and a boatload of AA miles.
I don’t think the card is worth it but thats just me. Congrats on the approval
It won’t be worth it for a lot of people. No doubt.
Why not keep the card to have to the extra $30k added the her overall available line of credit? That’s will help keep the utilization down.
That’s a consideration. We have plenty of available credit now though and pay our balances so they stay pretty low as is. That’s a great point though. Heck of a credit limit.
Southwest current offer is 50K bonus, do you think there will be a better offer coming in the next months?
If they stay on the same pace as last year then there will be roughly 2 big promotional periods in the year. One of those is almost always around November. My guess is one could come again within 3-4 months. However, Southwest has had some issues this year which means they may operate on a different timeline with promotions to garner business. If you’re going for companion pass, I would wait until the end of next year if they don’t have a promo period coming by the end of Q1.
Apparently Citibank is not a bankruptcy friendly because I have had applied for this card 2 times already and I always get denied I have 680 CS now and 3 years after bankrupt. 😢😢😢 Congrats for you guys beautiful credit limit.
That’s stinks. Hey, I’ve been denied for cards when I was thought I wouldn’t have any problems. Happens to all of us.
Can you downgrade this card to the Citi Custom Cash card after the first year?
I’ve heard varying degrees on product change options from Citi and it changes depending on what they are offering at the time. I’ll have to dig into what is available right now.
