@@jw0ng23 Oneworld + Star Alliance are tops in my book. I wouldn't even bother with SkyTeam. We fly all three and, based on our travel, 🥇American 🥈United 🥉Delta.
I’m lucky enough to be on a status challenge for as right now but even though they are not my favorite airline I do like the simplicity of their program
Reference the 5 miles per dollar at $100,000 perk. The way this works is if you get to that dollar, instead of earning one mile per dollar on anything you use the card for, you instead get 5 miles. This is different than the flight park where the 12 miles per dollar is only on money spent on flights. So one is 5 miles per every dollar on the card and the other is 12 miles per dollar spent on flights.
I’ve never really sought status but since the craziness with Delta, my favorite airline, happened, AA is looking more enticing since there are so many ways you can earn miles with them. Probably not going to be getting any airline branded cards though.
I understand what you are saying. Delta is my home airline, but with the new rules, it sucks for ppl who fly with them. I would only get branded cards for the perks such as checked bags and priority boarding and of course, miles, which u would use to redeem for award flights. Thanks for watching!
Not necessarily true about 10k miles equals 10k LPs. If you earn 2x per dollar on gas as with the citi platinum AA card, you still only earn 1 LP per dollar spent even while earning 2 miles per dollar. Very important distinction
@w0ngwaytravels yeah because I originally thought I could spend my way to status with as little as 20k just on gas and restaurants. Unfortunately that's not the case.
Well, depending on what status you are trying to achieve. u can definitely earn Gold (40K) with not crazy spend. I just got 5000 AA miles for $80 spend thru the shopping portal. As you know, status for these airlines is more catered to business travelers. @@ac41510
@w0ngwaytravels curious how it works in terms of LPs though with those miles earned thru the shopping portal. I'll have to investigate more but definitely intriguing if those 5k miles also equate to LPs! Thanks!
Hey Michael, great content! Oh btw, I will reply back to your email soon, business partner from Japan just flows back to HND. I would love to get the citi AA master elite card, the $595 card. Questions, does this card allows 2 more people (guess) to access the admiral lounge and oneworld partner lounge like Sakura lounge. Also, is there a fee to add authorized users? Thanks buddy. 😊
We can chat on the Japan info on the side. On the AA credit card; I actually re-read the terms for the card. It will actually cost you an additional $175 for up to three (3x) AU users. Sadly, only the primary cardholder will have access to Admirals & partner lounges from OneWorld Partners. AU(s) will only have access to the Admirals club lounge.
Just a note but for partners, the base miles percentage is based on the miles flown, not purchase price of ticket.
Thanks for the clarification!
💯 AA definitely makes it easier to earn status with the million different ways you can earn loyalty pts. Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks for watching! AA is a really good program. Whats your favorite airline program?

I currently have platinum pro status bc of my hyatt status. How are you gaining status?
@@jw0ng23 I got mine on a status challenge email
What hyatt status do you need to get plat pro?@@jw0ng23
Did you pay for status challenge or was selected?
@@merciaguerra9507 no it was free as I had gold delta status at the time

Thank you for watching and clarifying. Alot of spend to reach that 5x multiplier on that card.

All these Airlines Status has been pretty confusing and makes no sense. never had a problem understanding but now these Loyalty Points are disgusting
I agree! Airlines do not cater to leisure travelers.

@@ac41510 my understanding is those miles earned are the same as LPs. The purchase is pending and will confirm once the points are in place

AA miles and loyalty miles are so easy to earn
Yep, i think the AA program is one of the easiest program to earn airline status
Do you also get loyalty points for flying with transfer partners or only miles?
If it is a one world partner such Japan Airlines, you would earn miles and earn loyalty points towards AAdvantage Status, Thanks for watching!
Not a fan of chasing airline status but great video and information Michael! Keep up the great work 🫵
