Correction (thanks Alex!): 1 base point = 1 Loyalty point = per dollar spent
Multipliers (i.e., 2X on gas) does NOT play a role so less play there :(

Still might be worth it for some businesses though!
Hi Sebby. Your video is incorrect. Spend on all AA credit cards only gives 1 Loyalty point per $ spent. Credit card bonus categories which give 2x or something else, give bonus AA miles but these do not count as Loyalty points. It's only $1 spend = 1 Loyalty point.
Very important distinction…
Good catch! Pinned a comment to correct it.
Also you only get free baggage for domestic flights ( you had something with the Caribbean )
I just got a mailed offer for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard and on the envelope it says "Earn 1 loyalty point for every 1 eligible mile earned from purchases" which I take to mean that (at least for this card/offer) the loyalty points are linked to the number of miles earned.
Not easy to get status on AA
Love the new channel. I’m at 2/24 and just picked up the Alaska Airlines card this week. Thx to you keep up the good work. Cheers to Mandy her editing is on point. Safe travels guys. 💚💚💚🥃🥃🥃
💎 Great video, as usual. Used to fly AA a lot (over 600K lifetime miles), but now I live in Denver which is dominated by UA and SW. Still considering moving away from UA and back to AA.
💎 Thanks for the video! Thinking about checking out Citi now.
💎 Love your biz channel. Very helpful!
Just got this card last week, already hit the bonus and excited to learn about it. Thanks for the content.
My wife and I used the SUB on this card to book a Qatar Qsuite business class flight from LAX to DOH for our honeymoon. Definitely made the 15 hour flight more pleasant!
💎 Good info as always Sebby!
💎nice video and explination. I actuall cuurently use the Citi AAdvantage Card, an have gotten Gold Status and I use this as my Primary card for most purchases.
I know this is an older video, but I just got the AAdvantage platinum business M/C. The rewards are pretty pedestrian, but there was 75k bonus and I expect to do a fair amount of traveling on Am Air the next couple of years. They deferred the annual fee the first year, which is a nice little spiff too.
Just received mine 2 days ago. The fact that the bags are covered for my flight is more than enough for me. The 50k bonus after $2,500 within the first 3 months makes me happy as well.
Thanks for breaking down all the AA cards on this as well! There’s a lot, with a lot of confusing names haha.
Might have to look into this card!
Very very good info. Thanks
💎great video! Any opinion on the jet blue business plus card?
Great card, and if you spend and fly you can't go wrong to get to Executive Platinum. Great overview.
💎 Very informative!
Thanks for watching!
Hi Sebby, does this specific business credit card report to personal credit?
To get the free check bag do you have to purchase the ticket on AA with the card or just have to have the car? I booked an AA ticket on capital one portal.
Can you deduct the annual fees, whether for personal or business cards, if your business is reviewing and recommending credit cards?
Will this card give a free seat choice selection into main if I booked basic economy?
💎 Hey, great content. Can you clarify if AmEx charge cards (personal plat, gold) count towards Chase 524 rule?
yes
Does the SUB counts towards loyalty points? I opened the Barclays and Citi personal cards to get 125k Aadvantage miles combined
Good stuff. Living in PHL, I do have EP status. Downside is that I have to fly AA. 💎
Do you miss US Airways by chance?
Sebby, I agree that AA has a better frequent flyer program, but the base service at American pales to Delta. I almost never have a problem with my flight getting somewhere within 15min of scheduled time and my checked bag too. AA, is hit or miss. Also Delta SkyClubs are better than Admiral clubs. Granted I have only been in 2 Admirals clubs, but I know where the awesome SkyClubs are. I did have a status match with AA from Hyatt so i got to test drive Platinum Pro for 4 months. On the otherhand, Delta's partnership with AMEX gets you into Centurion lounges and that's the best in America!! Thanks.
Agree! Really depends on your airport hub. I'm still team Delta :)
I'm a American Airlines shareholder and I don't have any of these cards.
I do fly them on my closet friend who has been employed by them for over 17 years and he just puts me on his buddy pass.
I went to Belgium earlier this year...flew first class. Never considered the card because I fly once or twice a year.
I have a big trip for next year.. Ireland.
Planning on getting this card.... just for that
Barclay and the AAdvantage Aviator card have no customer support. I disputed a charge and they were no help. They sided with the vendor even though the vendor had no proof or even a receipt of the charges. The Village at Breckenridge is the vendor, and from what I read online, has done this before. I told Barcaly this and they could care less.
Hi Sebby, would you put this in the same strategy as CSP/CSR? Re-applying for the card every 4 years. Here are the terms, American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® account in the past 48 months
Ok a note on LP earning, 2x categories are only for redeemable miles and all AA cards only get one LP per dollar spent correct?
It’ll be interesting to see if AA’s new language on no LP earning when booking thru “unauthorized” third parties…
💎
That's an interesting JetBlue livery at 7:14 🤔😅 🇷🇺
I went from platinum to platinum pro. Difference is night/day I’ve found there are a ridiculous amount of people with platinum status and far fewer with platinum pro. Small business owner so making status every year is easy. Definitely love that you can now earn status by spending. All the haters gonna hate no matter what but it makes sense if someone is spending $200k annually on your credit card to give them these upgrades.
whats the biggest difference?
💎 being PP with AA I get upgraded about 90% of the time flying out of AUS, 50% from LAS, and so far 100% MCO. Love the AA program
AA program seems super interesting (especially out of SFO - also a non-hub!)
The drawback with this card is the lack of travel protections that don't exist on this card (ie. trip cancelation, delayed and lost bags, car rental, emergency services, etc.)
💎 the only business card that meets my private practice needs is the Chase ink cash.
CIC is a soldi card :)
💎 I'm starting to really see the value in business hotel and airline cards, especially if you're someone hunting status. Being someone with a relatively low amount of spend, statuses are something I don't care to focus on yet, but I could see that changing in the future depending on how my spending and travel habits change. Great breakdown as always Sebby!
p.s. I felt that when you didn't want to say this card's full name... Citi and AA need to get some better names for their cards lol 🤣
Do you have to spend the $20,000 to reach the AAdvantage Gold every year, or is it a one time thing and then you have Gold status forever after that?
You'll need 40,000 Loyalty Points each year program year (March 1 - February 28/29) to get reach Gold status each year.
Does the reservation have to be booked on the card to get the free checked bags? Or do you only have to hold the card to get it? (For example: AMEX is 5 points per dollar for flights.) 💎
Nope, just has to be linked to your AA account.
@@AskSebbyBusinessI’m assuming the same is true for personal cards as well?
Yep!
Perfect!
This isn't correct. You only get 1x loyalty point per $ spent on this card regardless of multipliers.
💎
What do you think is the best credit card for earning free flights?
Dale's Bugs Credit Card. For most people, probably just either: Amex Gold, Capital One Venture X, or Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve. Intro bonuses drive most of the value unless you're a business owner or big spender.
Haha, thank you! Love the Dale's bug comment! We were going to try and get a capital venture x, but I know they are difficult to obtain.
Does it add to your 5/24??
Nope! Since Citi Biz cards don't show on your personal credit report.
@AskSebbyBusiness what if I book with Avios (British Airways/ Qatar Airways) do I still get free checked bags for having the card? If I do, how would that work? (Subscribed, your videos are great)
💎💎💎
💎 easiest way to book eithad residence ?
*Easiest*? Probably go to their search and book with cash.
💎 is the current 65,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus a good value?
No travel benefits or insurance , count me out
The key to airline status is to fly on that airline...a lot.
This Chinese guy knows a lot about western credit cards.
When everyone has status no one has status. AA hosed their customers.
