With the cibc aeroplane visa card, I found out that if you look at the specific card page for multiple days and keep coming back to it, they’ll sometimes give you a digital offer of another 5,000 aeroplan points if you spend 1,000 in the first 3 months. That’s what I just got, they’re sending the card now. 15,000 points with no fee isn’t bad.
Great vid as usual. Since HSBC World Elite has stop giving 3 points (or 1.5 %) on every purchase and RBC is possibly about to ruin it, I've decided to renew my wallet for those 3 cars : Amex Cobalt, CIBC Aeroplan Infinite and Brim regular Mastercard (for no fx). I'll collect the bonuses and see what's better next year :P
I rewatched this and have recently got the HSBC WE Card. It took me a few months to realize how good of a card it is. But one of the best things, I think Walmart codes as GROCERIES where I am cause I keep getting 4x the points there. It's my goto for Walmart, Foreign transactions and alot of stuff recently.
Does anyone expect Aeroplan to "fix" their dynamic pricing? Looking at a random flight to London in January 2024 comes out to 215k points. Not sure how they can claim dynamic pricing due to demand when not a single seat is booked on the flight
Curious how the points systems work when travelling... IE, we travel full-time, rarely in Canada, yet the majority of the points systems seem to only offer point earning opportunities with purchases made within Canada. Would you give any suggestions for Canadian citizens/residence, who travel and make the majority of their purchases outside of Canada?
Buying a new car but the dealership will only allow $3000.00 max to be put on credit.. trying to think of a work around to not miss out on points.. any smart folks with ideas?
I have an amazing credit score and a decent income. However, I´m still an student and I do not meet most of the income requirements for the cards. I got the cobalt, but the scotiabank advisor jut told me not to lose my time trying to ask for the visa infinite passport. Is there a way around the income requirements? Should I take my chances still?
HSBC's WE card, how do you apply the $100 credit to the purchase purchase? Do we have to call or they automatically detect travel spending and waive those charge? Thanks
I don't mind the high annual fee for most Amex cards. Ive been using my credit card to pay rent so I just like to know what card offer the most cashabck and recurring bills.
I use the Cobalt on grocery stores. One thing to keep in mind, not all grocery stores accept it. But if you have Super C or local Indian stores that accept AMEX, you can earn 5 points per dollar. Also you can order 5 points if you order grocery from Uber Eats.
Walmart doesn’t count, costsco doesn’t count, no-frills doesn’t accept. So you can try sobeys, food basics, because they don’t sell anything but food. Those other chains doesn qualify because you can buy other things there other than food
@@kathryngalajda3553 yes we don’t have Sobeys in Quebec. Here we have Provigo of Loblaws but surprisingly they don’t accept AMEX. Even Canadian Tire / Jean Coutu / Pharmaprix don’t accept AMEX. My major earnings from the Cobalt Card are from Uber eats, restaurants and bars. And the grove ties i know who accept AMEX
@@AmitSharma-lh3pm What do you think about the new ion+ rbc card? It gets 3x the avion points compared to the regular avion card which is only 1 point for everything.

In my opinion, in order to avoid annual fees and international use fees.
Home Trust Visa or
Brim Mastercard

Did the bonus offer show up on the webpage itself, or only after you attempted to sign up? Also was this the base card or the student version?
@@rotatorcuffs8140 web page itself, regular base card.

I got the BRIM as well for no annual fee and my internet subscriptions that are in USD pricing to save some money, and where AMEX is not accepted.
My not the Scotiabank Passport instead of the Brim? You’ll get the lounge passes that way

They've stopped issuing it. Also they've rejected me twice 😢
On the MasterCard network. Walmart codes as groceries.
What are your thoughts on the TD First Class Visa Infinite card?
Very informative and concise videos… thanks for guiding me in getting my cobalt amex🥳🥳🥳
prince of travel videos always teaches me something new, while Ricky's channel videos always makes me wonder how can I get there lol

they wouldn't

what job do you have?
You really need to do a super pro version of this.. 😂
AMEX cobalt or aeroplan? Which is better? I feel like cobalt gives more aeroplan points???
Cobalt
Always looking forward to your videos 🤩
so what is a TD premium bank account to pay no fee on your credit card
50,000 points if you get the CIBC Aeroplan if you sign up on your mobile phone (Digital Offer)!
You mean for the free no-fee card? 50k points is a pretty big jump from 10k.
@@rotatorcuffs8140 not sure what you’re talking about. Anyways that offer is gone now.

Out of curiosity, why do you recommend the TD Aeroplan card versus the American Express one?

Is there any way of waiving minimum annual income for those credit cards?
I've found that the bank kiosks in airport locations don't seem to be too concerned about minimum income rules.
Just apply and put your income to whatever requirement there is. Except scotiabank
Just got refused at TD. I even had a score of 800. I guess they really do check.
