OMG!! This worked! Thank you big time! 2012 Chrysler T&C. Before this, My husband went through 2 batteries and then it cranked but wouldn't start. My auto shop(not dealer) was clueless. Dealer wanted $1000+. My husband could hear a noise but didn't know what it was. Your relay bypass advice got it to start 5 days in a row so far. Thanks again.
This is not for anything earlier than 2011 since that was the year that the TIPM was changed as well as the wiring between the fuse and relaty. 2011 and on, the relay powers the fuse. 09 and 10, the fuse powers the relay.
What’s the link? I am having this exact issue and it’s driving me up the damn wall!! I replaced the whole fuel pump before I even knew this was a possibility. Anyway I can test my old fuel pump without plugging it back in?
My 09 ram has the same symptoms I ordered the part off of Amazon but my fuse box doesn’t have a fuel pump relay can I plug it in the to fuel pump fuse instead?
@@jeffmeloo1091 I bought 2 mini add- a -circuit holders at AutoZone. You just need switched power going to the fuel pump so it only comes on when the key is turned on. Only a temporary fix you need a rebuilt TIPM.
@edlomonaco not all 2009s have a fuse on the relay. Had this exact problem. Ours in a early 2009 manufacture truck. It's got the same fuse block as the 08. There is no fuse on top of the relay and it cannot be bypassed.
@Moto-P I also have a 2011 Dodge with the 5.7 in it. I just put a new fuel pump in, thinking that was the issue, but after the new pump was in, I still couldn't get it started. @@wgrupegaming75 I figured out what was wrong it was the fuel pump and the connection on the pump also it was corroded really bad and the connecter fell apart inside. Had to order a new fuel pump and a new connecter for the truck
Actually, it is soldered on a circuit board inside the TIPM (fuse box). I replaced the relay but I'm also certified by NASA and should not be done by a novice. They used to sell kits for this and wasn't too much hassle to install but MOPAR stopped making them. Best off getting an Ebay TIPM or paying the $1200 for a new one.
