Button band- instead of reknitting you can add a snap in between the buttons or a snap band to replace the buttons. This will hold it smooth.

I love listening to you talking and questioning english pronounciation and sentence syntax😂 You are correct. English is very odd! Much love from Shetland x❤x Ps 'What's on the nail' could be a feature of your podcast 😅

    I like the long episodes. Myoo-zish-un x
Thankful and grateful are two sides of the same emotion, I think. Thanks emphasises the external face of that feeling (something you express to others as in ‘I thank you so much’) whereas gratitude emphasises what you feel inside (as in, ‘my heart swells with gratitude’).

@verylikecheryl. Loved the way you explained this. I'm not sure, but I think stuffies is a rather American term. I know them as soft toys.

Hi Sarah, I love your podcasts and look forward to a new one each Monday. I love seeing all of your beautiful knits and am always impressed by how much you get done. You are an inspiration! Your English is delightful. Don't worry about the language, we understand you completely. To answer some of your questions: knitting packages are kits; children play with building blocks; and stuffed animals are commonly called stuffies. Greetings from Virginia in the USA.

I totally understand about feeling like you can’t do something. I went to a knitting group with a friend who was an excellent knitter. I would see patterns that I wanted to try and I would ask her, “do you think I could do that?” She immediately answered “NO”. So I’ve always hesitated doing difficult patterns because I heard her in my head. Now I realize what a disservice she did to me because if I hadn’t heard that I would have tried more things. I have made several sweaters but none that were heart-jumping yet. I’m still working on it. Loved this episode ❤
Thankful and grateful are interchangeable - they mean the same thing. Like I am thankful for your podcast and grateful you are there.

You could put snaps on your sweater in between the buttons. You may be able to find snaps that are brown, so they won’t show when your sweater is unbuttoned.

So happy to see you here today. Tuesday is a great day when I can watch your podcast. Mewz-i-shun for musician. :-) And I think it was fitting that you offered a pair of socks for the gift of a guitar. I think that is the right thing to do in this instance. what a joy to see how happy he was. thatmakes it all worthwhile. He never hesitated to get your daughter a guitar so he deserves them and dk is so much quicker to knit.
The sweater on the nail is amazing and beautiful. Kika is an amazing designer. I didn't realise at first how talented she was and the designs are all so complex! She's amazing. I can't imagine owning one though in my country, and my city, it would be very very hot to have something that thick. I would boil like a pot of water on the stove hahahahaha
I am absolutely not 'mohairy' either and I KNOW I will never be! It's fuzzy, it ends up all over everything, it's TOO warm for Australia and I haven't found one that's soft enough either.
I think the green in your cardigan really comes out (shows well) with that skirt so good choice. Could you block seriously the cardigan to stretch it larger? I'd try that first before pulling it apart? I wear my cardigans open, with sometimes the top button done up so I always only put 3 buttons on my cardigans. And even though the sweater for your daughter is light it does suit you. I think you DO have to make one for yourself. :-)
    yes, building BLOCKS. L xx

Button band are a big challenge for me as well. I like your idea of working out the plan with your new project and then maybe "fixing" the sock cardigan one will seem so straight forward by then. For the knitted animals, I felt the same way about them at first because I have been so disappointed with any small ones I have made crochet. But I really wanted the sheep and duck from that book for some reason so I got the book and knit the sheep and I am so glad that I did! The instructions in the book are really good they even tell you where to put a marker (tie a string) for eye placement. My embroidery for the nose and mouth is a bit wonky and Agi the sheep is still missing her coat, but I made here a dress with scraps and she is now a well-traveled sheep--she came to Rhinebeck and was a star 😂. (I agree, "stuffed animal " does not sound like a good name for them). Good luck and have fun!

Your daughter's sweater is stunning! It was very helpful for me when you said alpaca yarn is slippery. The first thing I ever tried to knit was the Beginners Jacket by Petit Knit, and I almost cried. All the yarn kept falling off my needles and it was a mess. I cannot tell you how said I was. I now have wooden needles and wooly wool 🥰. I really thought it was just me. Thank you! Happy knitting 💚🧶💚

In the England I grew up we had cuddly toys. American English uses stuffies, which is new to me. Good luck with Nanna. I'll be curious to know how stuffing goes through the tiny hole that is left, for the sheep it is a big challenge! Perhaps it doesn't help to knit a very tight fabric, but I did that for longevity and to prevent stuffing from being visible. Thankful and grateful are synonyms.

Hello Sarah, I suggest to add some stitches to the button band of your sock cardigan, perhaps just a large icord ? Add button holes there and sew the old ones closed. I added this cardigan to my wish list as I find it very beautiful. There is something weird in the underarm of the Artic sweater preventing me from knitting it, isn't the raglan too short, or in the wrong place ?

LisaR: Hi ! " Kit" is the word in English for a package including materials to complete a project ...❤ hope this is word you wanted . Ps - I never thought about it before ... "Stuffed animal ?" It sounds the opposite of cuddly ! People say " Stuffy " a lot now to describe it ❤

The cabled jumper is very beautiful. I don’t like mohair either. It makes me itchy, and I always miss strands when knitting with yarns held double, so I prefer to knit with one strand. Maybe you could add some snaps in the spaces between the buttons on your Sock cardigan. 🤎
PS - Cuddly toy might be nicer than stuffed animal, but I like your word better. Also the package with everything you need is a Kit. I am halfway through Bunny Odile from that book, and no sewing pieces together!
