from reading the reviews on this product (the bar soap), alot of people said that their skin was drying. as someone with dry skin would liquifying it and adding oils to it help with the drying? i'm hoping to try this soap soon! your video was awesome!
Hey Jada! Soap, like shampoo or dish liquid, is used to strip the skin, hair, dishes of grease, oil & all around build up. So, I never use "any" soap on its own! I always use an oil as a barrier for my skin and hair. I have not experienced any drying of my skin with this recipe. I use it on my children as well:) Usually, people with dry skin (not all) do not have an efficient amount of water in their diets. Just something to consider😊. Thanks for the question!

Brenda Short I know this is late, but it's perfectly fine for relaxed hair. AUTHENTIC African Black Soap is an awesome antibacterial cleanser. Your hair shouldn't feel stripped as if you were to just wash it with African Black Soap by itself. She adds oils so it will be very moisturizing for your strands. Make sure you condition post wash just as you would after your regular wash routine. If you can deep condition with heat it's even better. Good luck if you haven't tried it already.😊

I bought the shea moisture african black soap bar. Could I just scrub that all on my scalp since it is already made with essential oils and stuff. Or should I shred it up and boil it in water still?
Zach Thompson Hi Zach, Amber is absolutely right! Shea Moisture isn't Authentic African Black Soap. As you can see in the video the soap isn't actually BLACK. It does however have good ingredients in it, but it's molecular makeup isn't the same as the one used in the video. Use her link or research on UA-cam how the authentic soap is made. You will only be able to make this shampoo with this type of soap. If you want to just use the Shea Moisture black soap itself for shampoo by all means go ahead. It will still get your hair clean and, as stated, the ingredients are still good. Hope this helps. 😊

It is made out of pure shea butter and palm kernel oil. Read the ingredients. Unless u meant u wanted to add more, which I would say it is really not necessary.

Hey Jada! Soap, like shampoo or dish liquid, is used to strip the skin, hair, dishes of grease, oil & all around build up. So, I never use "any" soap on its own! I always use an oil as a barrier for my skin and hair. I have not experienced any drying of my skin with this recipe. I use it on my children as well:) Usually, people with dry skin (not all) do not have an efficient amount of water in their diets. Just something to consider😊. Thanks for the question!

Brenda Short I know this is late, but it's perfectly fine for relaxed hair. AUTHENTIC African Black Soap is an awesome antibacterial cleanser. Your hair shouldn't feel stripped as if you were to just wash it with African Black Soap by itself. She adds oils so it will be very moisturizing for your strands. Make sure you condition post wash just as you would after your regular wash routine. If you can deep condition with heat it's even better. Good luck if you haven't tried it already.😊

You don't need the preservative unless you an ingredient that needs to be refrigerated.

I bought the shea moisture african black soap bar. Could I just scrub that all on my scalp since it is already made with essential oils and stuff. Or should I shred it up and boil it in water still?

Zach Thompson Hi Zach, Amber is absolutely right! Shea Moisture isn't Authentic African Black Soap. As you can see in the video the soap isn't actually BLACK. It does however have good ingredients in it, but it's molecular makeup isn't the same as the one used in the video. Use her link or research on UA-cam how the authentic soap is made. You will only be able to make this shampoo with this type of soap. If you want to just use the Shea Moisture black soap itself for shampoo by all means go ahead. It will still get your hair clean and, as stated, the ingredients are still good. Hope this helps. 😊

Margo Locust-Fuentes I bet apple cider vinegar would be a great one. It's a anti fungal and natural cleanser. I'm going g to add to this recipe and use lavender oil or some type of citrus oil to cut the smell.
