  • How to make an extremely easy whipped hair and skin cream using mango butter, cupuacu butter, lots of aloe vera gel, and nutrient-rich oils! You'll also find cocoa butter and kokum butter in this recipe, along with vitamin E , argan oil and castor oil! This recipe does NOT contain coconut oil or shea butter for those who do not like that in their hair. You can customize, sub or add, any ingredient in this mango and cupuacu hair butter cream recipe to make it perfect for your hair! I hope you enjoy, Xo! Nap
ps. The aloe vera gel used in this recipe is "Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gelly" it comes with a preservative already in it, and is made with 99% aloe. If you use a pure aloe vera gel or juice, you'll need to add a preservative to it, OR mix in small batches, storing the rest in the fridge. I avoided this issue by using the Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera "Gelly" product with a preservative already inside. It's the green plastic container in the video, and can be purchased at WholeFoods! You know a hair product is good when it looks appetizing. I used to have this pomegranate scented Shea butter, that smelled good enough to eat and I swear that was the only reason I put up with retwisting this head of hair every night.

Just made this amazing butter! I used all of the ingredients in the video PLUS added Tucuma butter to not only moisturize, but to help with frizz. I also added Manketti/Mongongo oil for its hydrating, regenerating and restructuring properties due to having to color my gray roots. I can't wait to use it! Thank you, thank you Whitney!

I just did a braid out with it and I really like it! however I'm not sure if it was my conversion from grams to spoons/cups but the butter is very stiff. was thinking of melting it back down and adding more oils to soften and make it easier to apply. wish I could post a pic here for you to see the braid out.

One of the reasons your videos are so valuable to me is that you explain the reasoning behind your ingredient choices. It becomes customizable that way. We learn about the specific properties and we can go find other things that have the same benefits but are cheaper or more suitable to our specific experiences and textures. That's education and celebration of differences (economic, hair texture, learning styles). In the middle of crazy social times, thanks for being a teacher and collaboartor. Peace to You Whitney! Please keep teaching.

I've watched a lot of Natural Hair Care Ladies on UA-cam. And YOU are by far my favorite! ❤️ No one comes even close. I really enjoy your bubbly spirit, educational instructions, I mean you don't miss a beat. You throw down so much knowledge about the ingredients! You also have better quality videos than everyone else. Your editing is on point. I love your background music and you make me laugh hysterically sometimes with the things you say and do. Your facial expressions are classic, especially when you are testing products. And I love your sweet baby boy Theo. I want to just scoop him up and snuggle him. I'm a baby nurse so I might be just a little too excited about him. ❣️I'm so happy that you have over 1M subs and that you launched your product line Melanin, which we've all been hoping you'd do for years. 🙌 Congrats on its launch and I'm praying for many blessings in the future. 🥂🍾 You deserve the Best. You've been around a long time and have earned every success. You have a loyal fan and supporter here! Hugs ~ ❤️ 😘 🤗

Thank You!!! Definitely going to try this recipe! I can't wait! I've been shopping around for a hair moisturizer and wasn't happy with the products at stores--full of alcohol and perfumes. I'm so glad I decided to wait and do some research for a DIY formula. My hunch paid off! Your recipe is all natural and full of healing oils and butters. It looks easy enough to make and I can reuse all the ingredients over again to make more without breaking my bank! Thanks again for all the research and hard work you put into making a quality, natural hair (& body) moisturizer!(...that's not only good to my hair & body but, also to the environment!) KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Ms ECstreet :)

Naptural85, I just made your Mango/Cupuacu butter/hair cream! It turned out so nicely that I can't stop smiling and applying it to my skin! I used all of your ingredients except the Argan and rosehip oils. I hope I got those names right! I put mine in the freezer for about 30 minutes. With the aloe gel providing a little moisture, the butter whipped right into a cream that looked like frosting! You have to be quick, I guess, if you hope to pipe it into a jar! Mine set almost immediately, so I ended up scooping it, instead! I will not add essential oils when I use it as a hair cream. So many of products are already scented, so I don't want to compete. When I use it as a body butter, I hope to add vanilla and cinnamon. To me that combination is amazing! Whitney, thank you for sharing your gift with us! I can't believe I successfully made it!!!!! P. S. Does anyone know where we can buy quality essential oils without breaking the bank? :) TIA

I made my 1st batch b4 christmas & just started using 2nd batch 2-3 wks ago! i still have enough ingredients 2 m8k @ least 2 more batches. I use it on my body as well & gave away small containers 2 family & friends & still had a lot left. U made a silkier everyday version of ur old shea butter cream, how can we do that w/the mango butter cream?

I like how you measure your oils and butters! I get slightly annoyed at those who don't measure or weigh and "add a little of this, and a little of that" to their mixes. I like consistency.

This is wonderful recipe. Thank you Natural85. Ladies, if you are a newbie to DIY products, like me, please don’t make the mistake that I did. She said aloe gelly not gel. Aloe gelly is the kind you buy in a bottle normally for sunburns and you store it in your cabinet with your lotions and things under your sink. Aloe gel is in a bottle and is pure aloe and must be stored in the refrigerator. Both have preservatives, but the gel has a limited amount and will go bad. In fact, it will only last in your refrigerator for 6 months.

I am not sure if this will be help to anyone, but...
What I do normally to get a smooth shea butter is I go to Target or Walgreens, buy the 100% Raw Shea Butter from the company Shea Moisture.
Then, I melt it at home in the microwave in 30 sec intervals, put three big pumps of sweet almond oil in it (about 6-7 tbsp, I would say), freeze until solid, then leave out in room temp for about 2 hours.
I know it's a lot of steps, but the Shea butter is not really going to be a good texture before melting and mixing with the oil. This usually gives a silky, nice textured oil that *hopefully* is actually 100% shea butter.
I suggest doing that before actually using it in the leave in conditioner recipe of this video.

What's funny is that I have all of the oils and none of the butters, haha. I would still like to try this though - coconut oil makes my hair crunchy if I don't wash it out immediately so it's relegated to prepoos only, and shea butter's too thick for me. Thanks, Whitney!

Couldn't resist - got my ingredients and made this today! Used everything but the rosehip oil. Thank you so much for doing the measurements in grams - I bake a lot and it's much easier to get a consistent product if you measure by weight. It came out fluffy and looked just like yours, so so far, it's a win! Now to put in some twists...

You threw in everything but the kitchen sink. I have all ingredients except kokum butter and capuachu butter. This is a recipe right up my alley. I make hair growth oils with like 10+ ingredients. My philosophy is the same the more nutrients and benefits at once the better. I will definitely be making this. I'll probably add a capsule or 3 of sea buckthorn. I'm always glad to discover new butters and oils.

Hey Whit, can you do an update on how this new butter is working for you? Is it better/more moisturizing than the whipped shea butter (I've been using that recipe since the moment you uploaded it way back when). Thanks to you, I've become obsessed with Aloe Vera and the fact that its included in this mixture, even though I'm not coconut oil sensitive, got me reallly wanting to try it ... although I'm probably going to have to slowly obtain all these ingredients lol. I'm going through menopause and I no longer recognize my body or my coarse, wiry, curly hair and Mango Butter + HEAT has ended my hair nightmare! Evidently, I have non-porous hair and I've spent two years attempting to wash my hair less while avoiding heat and my hair got worse & worse. I now wash my hair every other day because hair product sits on my hair strands & weighs it down. I use a little Mango Butter on my [almost] dry hair and then use hot rollers to get the butter to penetrate & soften my hair strands. Viola! I have great hair again! Lol!

Great video! I am ordering my ingredients from an online store called "From Nature with Love." They carry every butter and essential oils (from South Africa) that you can think of! Including all of the ingredients to make the Mango Butter. The great thing about it is you can order in bulk. You can chose the butters in a whipped texture also. Also try the Shealoe Butter (Shea Butter n aloe mix ) and the Manketti oil (make the hair feel thick and extremely moisturizing!)
