His material, timing and mannerisms were just excellent. I've seen him many times in my 62 yrs and never fails to deliver side splitting laughs. Thanks for the post.
It's an incredible blessing to have so much of his career archived here, on the internet. Endlessly funny, always listening, and always "on"...an atomic-powered man.
R.I.P. Mr. Warmth . I remember watching this great legendary comedian as a teen in the 70's on many Dean Martin celebrity roasts. And on the Tonight show with Johnny Carson. Mr. Rickles made me as a young guy laugh soooo hard . His style of humour is top class he is truly a legend. I am glad i can come to UA-cam and watch these great clips of Mr. Rickles , from the times he would have fun with his old and truest friend Frank Sinatra. In close? We lost a great comedian yes for many of us the laughter he brought us at least for me still lives in my heart. Don Rickles was and is "Great". God bless Mr. Warmth.
I know that Don was close to Sinatra because Frank helped him in his career at the beginning, but I thought that his best friend was Bob Newhart? I know that they and their wives used to socialise, and even go on holiday/vacation together.
Don deserved every clap, whistle and cheer (and even some of the boos, which were given in fun) he ever received. Thankfully, in this cockamamie world, he is still getting them. We that grew up with him were blessed with him. Those that didn't are blessed with videos/recordings of him. We should all be thankful.
Did you see Johnny Depp finally get a joke from Rickles at The Don Rickles Tribute? He wanted it for so long and he never insulted him until then but you could see how grateful Depp was.
Good thing you're use of words was corrected, cause I'm sure you don't know the difference, and this frkn spell check always knows which word we want ,- thank God the There are some educated youngsters out there to spot these atrocities
Kudos to the guy who kinda looked like Jesus...After the "they're expecting you" line, he does the sign of the cross...Not bad for an amateur caught off guard...
Truly, the funniest man ever to grace our lives, hysterically through the TV. No one comes close or ever will. 1st carved face on the Mt. Rushmore of comedy.
...saw Don in concert (at Bergen PAC, NJ) @ 2 years before he died. Terrific show...included ALL of the jokes from this TV LAND speech, but priceless. His interactions with the audience, while not at his sharpest, still better than most...so glad that me and a motley assortment of friends got together.
Don was maybe getting old, he may have walked slow, but his jokes was fast he knew his words that's why Don't Rickles was one of the best comedians ever we miss you Don RIP buddy.
A true legend of comedy. My all-time favorite comedian. Not only was he funny but people who knew him truly loved and respected him because his comedy was really to make the world laugh and never with malice. True fans of Don Rickles who had seen his roasts since the 60's know that he always ended his skits with the sincerest, most heart-warming, and kindest words. The man had class. Not many could say the things he said to Frank Sinatra and lived to talk about it. RIP Mr. Rickles. There will never be one like you. You are sorely missed!
I'm British so only just found out about Don Rickles, spent hours looking through old videos and hes hilarious.. The first few videos I saw I understood why people called him a legend.
The wonderful Rickles gives us all the tickles, and make us see life in a more lighthearted frame. It’s no wonder he made such an impression and great fame !
The guy can barely walk here and still made me laugh to tears. I cannot remember any other comedian that has made me laugh so consistently. Immeasurable genius and talent.
If I’m having a really crappy day I go to UA-cam and look this guy up there’s nobody like him and he has made me laugh in some of the most darkest times of my life I thank God for him.
I believe he is the greatest insult comedian of all time. He did it his way with no writers just improve a mike and an audience. His Dean Martin Roasts are legendary. I'm so glad that he was honored while he was alive here and in 2014 by other comedians.
I've only just discovered Don Rickles, I am pleased I did, never a dull moment when this man was around, I am loving his commedy! By the way I am from the UK, probably why I never heard of him before?
The saddest part is nobody is around to replace these legends. Rodney Dangerfield is another legend that is sorely missed. Oh well, we can still enjoy them on UA-cam! :-)
Yep. Another Icon in the progression of stand up. I only don't have a lot of Rodney Dangerfield like Carol Burnette, both have high quality versions available of their content on their youtube channel & strong legitimate copyrights. I had to fight like 20 different copyrights on my Andy Kaufman remasters. I won all but 4, on the grounds that he spent his whole career trying to get his bits seen, & no one should own & be able to hide his work. I ran into walls posting Dangerfield. Even though I liked how the remasters came out, the originals are fine & available for free on his channel. The second I find like a comedy club performance that isn't available publicly on some DVD to mine, clean up, & put out there, I will. Unless the last name of the person holding the copyright is Dangerfield, I will fight it =) Thanks for the comment. Sorry for the long winded response.
There was none better, got to see him live six years prior to this, just as "Shock and Awe" had settled into our consciousness. Don was doing George M. Cohan stuff, very much in support of the military as a vet. He didn't blow anybody's fur off in his working of the audience, but what a treat.
Still binge watching Rickles videos in 2020. He is a legend.
2022!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2023!
2024 now! 😊😊
The most humble thing said from such an iconic guy.
"Thank you for making me feel important"
On his award....."whoever designed it was a moron". Brilliant!
"I would do more, but the money..."
In-tears hilarious!!
Don wasn't lying. He WAS the biggest name there.
everybody else was dead already

This legend makes me laugh. I discovered him toward the end of his career but at the same time, thanks to youtube...I get to enjoy him.
yup. look for his show from Montreal....might be titled Strictly For Laughs. The Dean Martin and Friars roasts as well as the Carson appearances.
Same here
It's an incredible blessing to have so much of his career archived here, on the internet. Endlessly funny, always listening, and always "on"...an atomic-powered man.
