The Airgun Show | Farmyard Rat Attack | Weihrauch HW97 Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- Winter is here and rats are starting to infest one of Mat Manning’s farmyard shooting permissions. The disease spreading rodents are on high alert so Mat uses a clever baiting trick, backed up by thermal and night vision hunting tactics, to set up shots with his FX Dynamic Compact airgun.
Also in this episode, we have a review of the Weihrauch HW97 KT air rifle. This classic German underlever spring gun boasts competition winning accuracy and handsome styling, and does not disappoint.

The HW97 has NO anti bear trap safety and i,m glad for that. Keep the barrel firm in one hand and release the underlever when almost cocked and you will never ever never say again that the HW97 has an anti bear trap safety Mat😂😅Same for the HW77 and 57. Great rifle by the way, without a noisy bear trap mechanism. The HW97 is so good that i own two of them👌
I rather call it an finger quillotine trap 😅.
Correct. I wish people would not keep calling it an anti bear trap. It does have a sliding trigger stop. But if you have too light of a trigger setting it will take your fingers off.
@@cheshirebowman4465 Right mate 👍 A FWB 300 and Diana mod. 75 for example have a "anti bear trap". With those rifles you can release the cocking lever half way and nothing happens. Just a fancy meaningless word for rifles that not have one to make them intresting. Cheers!
@@rapalaron6348 air arms have a genuine one on their super sport. Very true what you say. 👍
Happy New Year Mat to you and yours. Great ratting session. And nice Weihrauch. All the best
And to you and yours.
Thanks for watching. Mat
My rifle of choice is the HW90 gas ram in 20 cal, fitted with a $500 Sightron 3x16 42 scope on a one piece Sportsmatch fully adjustable scope mount. JSB 20 cal 13.73gr Exact domed pellets renders 20 fte at 815 fps. It's an incredible gun with incredible accuracy.
Nice review Matt,I have two in .177 and .22 my other go to being a mk1 Hw80 in .22 I've had this since1986.I been waiting a year for my latest weihrauch a Hw98.All the best from down under New Zealand.

Happy New year Matt.
Just a word on the bait for rats. Nuttella mixed with cooking oil to a soup like mix is awesome!
And tuna juice with cooking oil. Both are explosive bait.
All the best.
Yes, I've used Nutella and oil to good effect. Will try tuna oil.
Thanks for watching. Mat

Packs a punch
Is that a flow through suppressor design? That makes no sense.
I was wondering that myself......What can is that?
It's an Eagle Vision Sigma.
Thanks for watching. Mat
How much is thing cost?
Mat - you have to be more careful. Mark has been tracking you, and hes livid that youre taking up all the screentime. Hes really close and hes using illegal pellets tipped with poison. Terry is also gone. Be careful good luck
Its rifles not a gun it has a rifled barrel so its a rifle a gun is a shotgun and a pistol a gun
nob
I can see it a bunch of little kids at the airgun show 😂😂😂😂😂 what a joke. Playingbwith childrens toys
Cor you must be proper tough mister.
@reservedone1791 is it because you can't own a real weapon? And shooting at Rats, who's the real tough guy. On the battlefield you'd be the Rat.
By 'real weapon' I take it you mean centrefire. That's a bit of an assumption isn't it? By the way you're behaving here I doubt very much you own anything more than a pea shooter. And as for being 'on the battlefield' I assume you're talking about the hours you spend on your own playing Call of Duty. Or are you going to tell me you're ex-Army, toured Afghanistan...Go on surprise me.@@cannabiskev8056
I kinda agree.
12ftlb rifles are almost toys. In the UK we've been castrated. Handgun ban plus its very very difficult to get a firearms licence, even for a .22 rimfire rifle.
There's no reason why you can't have FAC air rifle as long as 1) you don't have a criminal record 2) there is no medical issue and 3) you have somewhere suitable to use an FAC air rifle and a legitimate reason to want one. If you have all of those things then the only thing stopping you is your lack of desire/effort to fill out an application.@@brianandes5629
Sub 12 is too under powered. It can barely push a can off a shelf when shooting it.
