Marie and Dawn are together in the studio filming a course for the International Felt Maker's Association. Their three-part series "Sampling for Success" tasks them with creating 1 oz sample vessels over a 7 inch resist.
In this video, Marie demonstrates how to create the Friendship Vessel. Marie wet felts this vessel inside-out, and the beauty of the simple embellishments is revealed once cut open. Using just one 7-inch resist, she creates two mirrored vessels - one for a friend, and one to keep!
In the next video, Dawn Edwards of Felt So Right will wet felt a Cracked Mud Vessel. Keep an eye out for this final video tutorial in the Sampling for Success series.
The full Sampling for Success series with additional video content and wet felting resist templates is available on FeltingTutorials.com: feltingtutorials.com/course/s...

I've wet felted many bowls -- learned originally from an earlier LF tutorial -- but today I'm really inspired by the idea of using the knitted piece for embellishment. I have tons of yarn and tonight I'm going to start knitting some strips using a variety of yarn, and then I'm taking tomorrow off from work specifically to wet felt a vessel this way. Can't wait to see what happens! As always, thank you Marie and Living Felt for the great idea 🥰🥰

My favorite part of wet felting is to hold it when it is full of soap and feel the texture of the wool.

How do you get it to keep its shape when rinsing? Just dunk it in water over and over? Hold it under running water? Can you explain the vinegar bath?

Once you take it off the resist can I still add any specialty fiber or yarn or is it too late to "add" stuff?
