OWC is awesome. They rehab wild animals and provide permanent homes for bears like Leo who were born/raised in captivity and can't be released. It's my all-time fav YT channel. Go Bears!

Jim and his wife are one of a kind. The bears just seem to respond to him. He truly loves the animals. He has a graveyard for the bears he's lost. These giants are more than just a big beast. So intelligent. They could kill you with one swipe yet are so gentle with Jim. Must be the most incredible connection. Go Jim!
wow wow! there is a huge difference between a hand raised bear and a wild one. I wouldn't assume that a wild bear wouldn't attack unless provoked, it's got to eat doesn't it.
@@gaarcemail it's actually not that far off though, wild bears don't recognise humans as food (I'm talking about grizzlys, polar bears actively hunt us and sloth bears are very prone to attacking) and are not likely to attack you if encountered, though there are circumstances that make them more dangerous (mating season, female with cubs etc.). That said I definitely wouldn't want to encounter one still xd

This bear has been around humans (especially that guy) for many years. Bears are not normally social creatures. They get together to mate and gather together around coastal rivers when the salmon runs and food is plentiful. Other than that they are loners. Many people have been mailed or killed because they thought a bear was cute and wanted to pet it or just get close to it. They are apex predators and are not your friend. Though when I die and am lucky enough to make it to heaven. I am going to ask God why he made all the apex predators so cute and cuddly looking.

Intellect is required, you can’t just be dumb and hug a bear, or tiger, or cheetah, or a skunk for that matter. They might not kill you, but you certainly won’t be able to further your bloodline when you stink like ass cause you’re hugging skunks all day.
@@LoryBelle my dog got sprayed by a skunk. I kept throwing up! I plan to ask God if he was trying to be funny when he made the skunk, bc it was anything but. Some free advice. Flush the dogs eyes well. Don't close it in anything it could be deadly. Let the oil dry on the coat BEFORE you start the washing process. Forget all that other stuff but a bunch of bars of ORIGINAL Irish Spring. Wash, rinse, let dry, repeat. It really worked.
Leo was basically raised from a cub along with many other bears that were part of a captive breeding program that was abandoned. Go their channel, Orphaned Wildlife, their bears are out of this world
If the bears are born/raised in captivity, they can’t go back in the wild. Now if the bear was raised in the wilderness and somehow got injured, the rehab center can help rehabilitate the bear until it is fit to go back to the wilderness.
