ALL things living are our responsibility that is why we have a brain and conscience and the love and respect we give to all our animals comes back tenfold...ask D Attenborough....
It's ridiculous that bureaucracy takes so long, leaving animals like Napa in a tiny cage for 8 years after the circus ban. The state should confiscate abused animals and arrange for them to be placed in a sancturary as a matter of urgency, not leave them languishing in appalling conditions. An abusive 'owner' has no rights, in my view.
AND 1) the lawmakers that make this treatment legal, 2) people who accept it and look the other way, and 3) people who support it by paying to go to the circus.

You may think it cruel, but in it's day, it was the *_beginning_* of animal conservation. There wasn't T.V. Documentaries back in the day, there were circus'. A circus was the only place MOST people ever got to experience animals like "Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!!" In the 1800's when the circus was most popular, people didn't even KNOW these wonderful animals existed. Many were killed for various reasons MORE cruel than training them for the circus. As more people were exposed to them more people became active in trying to protect them. As you see today, the circus is non-existent *BECAUSE* people started to get involved in helping these animals they at one time didn't even know about. It's *_VERY SAD_* that some animals had to suffer through this, but what they endured helped their species survive.
@@timothyhouse1622 By *today's* standard you would be 100% right. However during the 1800's *MOST* people had never seen most of these animals, let alone *heard* of them. During those times people saw, and experienced how wonderful these animals are, and as time went by CONSERVATION GROUPS WERE FORMED. There was *NO* animal conservation groups before this time period.. WHY? Because people didn't KNOW about these animals. Only THEN did people start being concerned with their welfare, and a CIRCUS was great exposure because their treatment in them was *quite often* criticized. I'm not "painting the circus" in a positive light, I'm simply stating that if they'd have never become popular, we wouldn't have the conservation systems we do today. Stop taking everything in a "black and white" point of view. Sometimes bad things happen to MAKE GOOD THINGS happen, because if we never see the bad, we never CREATE the good.
Mile....To paint a rosy picture and make unsupported statements such as that the existence of zoos and circuses enabled or inspured conservation efforts won't make it true....nor would it by painting a rosy picture of the so-called end result of these establishments. His treatment was incredibly cruel and that's it....no justifying. It's much more likely that people became aware of the plight of animals due to increased access to media etc.
@D B You missed the apostrophe, the period.....and flubbed your spelling. When you attempt to call someone else an idiot, it's important to try to appear like you're not one; not prove to them that they're actually much smarter than you. Too funny.
I don't know how a person could keep a beautiful animal in a small cage. That infuriates me. I am so happy for Napa and I am grateful for his rescuers ❤️🐾❤️
It hard to imagine an animal caged most of it's life finally being able to look at (seemingly) endless space to explore - loving hearts give these animals HOPE, not FEAR - Bless you all for your selfless acts of mercy.
Any human being would have been "stir crazy" after being in a small cage for 8 years. What an awesome rescue this was. Thanks to all those that helped free Napa and got him to his just reward.
Pure evil to make animals perform like that. And the "training" is actually nothing more than torture. Poor guy. You can tell how sweet he is, that's probably why he was a "good" performer. He never fought back hard enough. When huge powerful animals like that still respect the humans that torture and starve them, all the while KNOWING they could kill them if they wanted to, that says so much more about the spirit of animals than it does for the spirit of humans. I'm so happy he found people to love and care for him. I think that animals are better at living in the moment and being present than we are, and thank goodness for that. He's in the mountains, in fresh air, under the stars, in the snow, with some new friends. Many blessing for those that fought to give him, and others like him, such a life. I pray that in my lifetime, stories of animals being treated so horrifically are rare. Now that we all have the ability to film and access to share stories like this with the world, I think it's possible. The newer generations care much more about the lives of animals than those who went before us. Maybe that's because we have more access to see it. Maybe that's because we were raised with Steve Irwin telling us that every creature is a beauty. Maybe it's because that's part of the mission of many of us now. Whatever the reason, I'm glad for it. I'm glad to be living at this time and to have the ability to witness it.
No that's not the way. We have to end cruelty not create more through revenge. Those people who are cruel to animals are to be pitied because if you hate animals you hate yourself.
How do you know what I feel? Actually at one level I do pity them because they are deeply sick and got like that for particular reasons, not because they are evil. Unless the human race can break the cycle of abuse it will continue, those who were abused abuse others. Simply sesponding with Old Testament revengeful justice will not break the cycle and so it will continue Vengeful justice is about satisfying a need in those who carry it out. It is not about trying to rid humanity of its ills.
I can remember going to a circus with my gradeschool class and being horrified at the way the animals were treated. To see a brown bear in a pink tutu "dacing" with a man flicking a whip at him really struck a nerve with me. I can remember my mom asking how it was and I told her I hated it, I would never go to another one.
The bears are made to "dance" by forcing them to stand on a hot metal plate in a small 1 meter by 1 meter cage. The bears keep moving from foot to foot to try to ease the pain. It is done so frequently to the bear cubs it becomes a learned trait, while the human with the whip re-inforces it using the whip as a power / violence technique. This is how circuses try to "entertain" human children and successfully "fool" their human parents into beleving circuses are "wholesome and amusing" family entertainment for which humans will pay money.
Same here. Only it was elephants for me. There were loads of them all forced to stand in line and perform tricks and even as a small child I just KNEW this wasn't right and have loathed circuses ever since and have donated many times to help charities who save these poor creatures.
The fact that his spirit wasn't broken 😢💔 for those 8 years of pure hell in a cage so small he couldn't even turn around, but he never gave up hope 😢💔😭🐻💞
I’m fairly certain it gave up hope when it started performing, if it never gave up hope it wouldn’t have done that and probably ending up getting put down because it wouldn’t give a profit
That cage was so small. He had just enough room to turn his body around and that’s it. He couldn’t stand up, he couldn’t stretch his legs or lay out. How did he not go completely mad?! I truly believe there is a glorious spot in a very bad part of the afterlife reserved for the ppl involved in the caging, torturing, abusing & neglecting of animals. They’ll be in a cage too but for them it will be for eternity. Thank you to all those involved with your dedication & persistence to give these beautiful animals some semblance of a normal bear life. 🙏💗
Kidz Bop 38 is Straight FIRE!! I completely agree. I pray for humanity and hope we can stop our incessant need to own & control other living things, human and other. This bear broke all of its teeth attempting to chew through & free himself from the steel bars. It breaks my heart. I can’t understand how someone tended to this bear daily but didn’t feel, or care about, this animals pain especially seeing it first hand.
@Sinew Minew: I absolutely agree with you that the cruelties humans are capable of is incredible. But I don't agree with you that such people should be treated and suffer in the same way *for all eternity,* because i.m.o. this is just as resp. even far more cruel and because unfortunately some people have no or only a very limited awareness of their cruelty and e.g. Romania, where this bear was kept so cruelly, is still a very poor country, where many people fight for survival every day using such methods, because they can't afford better methods. Apart from that, the poem "Thoughtless Cruelty" by Charles Lamb, which you read in one of your videos, should, i.m.o., be compulsory reading in every school because it conveys respect for nature, other living beings and, last but not least, our fellow human beings very well. But the fact that many things in life are not that easy is also proven by the fact that probably each of us has already killed some mosquitos or annoying flies etc. (Btw, flies can also bite us very painfully! I know this because a fly bit me through my sock once before. 😮)

The circus scene literally made me cry. The poor bear must’ve gone through years of abuse
Me too. It literally brought tears to my eyes to think of what they will have done to him to make him behave like that. How could anyone pay to watch that?
It's is just sad to this.
If the circus treated him like how a good human will treat his dog it's understandable but this this is just wrong on levels unimaginable
Now the circus are youtube channels, people getting exotic pet and use them to get views..
He looks so fragile :(
Keeping him in a cage is cruel, but letting him enjoy the snow day was lovely.
Guys - I don't know how you managed to get the land for the Bear Sanctuary and raise the money to rescue Napa and the two bears from Albania. I am just in awe of your efforts and how much you all achieved. You have accomplished things that so many of us pray will be done. THANK YOU, SO MUCH, FOR YOUR WORK. But I was so happy to see him get a bear friend because he looked lonely.
8 YEARS in a cage is criminal. I can't express to you wonderful people how happy I am that you rescued him.
It's ridiculous that bureaucracy takes so long, leaving animals like Napa in a tiny cage for 8 years after the circus ban. The state should confiscate abused animals and arrange for them to be placed in a sancturary as a matter of urgency, not leave them languishing in appalling conditions. An abusive 'owner' has no rights, in my view.
they have the right to be placed in the same cage as he did with his bears for the same amount of time.

You may think it cruel, but in it's day, it was the *_beginning_* of animal conservation. There wasn't T.V. Documentaries back in the day, there were circus'. A circus was the only place MOST people ever got to experience animals like "Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!!"
In the 1800's when the circus was most popular, people didn't even KNOW these wonderful animals existed.
@@mikeh8416 A circus isn't "conservation." It is EXPLOITING animals. Stop trying to paint it in a positive light.

@The Banned In Prison you can move, run, have fun, take a bath, eat a food, walk and etc. It's not like they're in a close tight space for years.
It’s amazing that Napa ended up in such a beautiful forever home, but so heartbreaking that he was in captivity for many years.

You have a good heart. 🧡💙🧡

This bear broke all of its teeth attempting to chew through & free himself from the steel bars. It breaks my heart. I can’t understand how someone tended to this bear daily but didn’t feel, or care about, this animals pain especially seeing it first hand.
I certainly hope these people are locked up for eternity, they should be ashamed of themselves 😢
You pay for animals to be treating like this AND worse if you eat normal meat/animal products hypocrit
