This seems like one of the best choppers, based on the UA-cam reviews I've been watching all day. Many people are using food processors but they get all shredded, almost blended. This does a proper dicing.
Wow, thanks!
Thank you for your review. I never thought much of this! Thanks to you I changed my mind. Nothing like the KA I love it had for many years. Christmas daughter gave me a larger one I use them both. I love the KA Thanks for sharing, love your channel. Arlene
How have I only just discovered this channel?! So awesome ❤️
Shotgun Red had a great point here with his safety announcement. I know someone that was killed when the strings from his hoodie got caught in a rotating bar in an auger. They now have a guard over that bar
Can't be to safe!
Wow! Finally a dicer I was looking for! I struggle so much with these hand banging plastic dicers, I need one of these so much, I'm convinced! Thank you for the tip, that's very clever, safety first!
You are so welcome! Steve passed away Dec 2018
@@CookingwithShotgunRed omg I'm so sorry to hear this, great man 😭
I was wondering about this, thanks for the demo.
The beauty about veggies is that clean up is a snap. Just rinse and put it away when you are done.
Your so welcome Steven... Your so right with the veggies! :)
Thank you Shotgun Red!!! I have been shopping for a "good" dicer. I'm like you, slicing is fine but the dicing when the garden harvest comes in is the busy time. I dice up the vegetables and store in one cup measurements to freeze. When cooking, just pull out a baggie and done! Thanks again.
Thanks for a great tip on freezing.
We just got one of these mixers and are excited about the attachments. great tip about the rotating gear, we definitely will keep
the bowl on for safety! thanks for sharing keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the demonstration. I g ot excited to try mine just by watching you. My son bought this for me to help with my meal prep every week. He is the best.
Glad it was helpful!👍😊
Super cool. I definitely need one of these!! Thanks for the great keeping the bowl on safety idea.. very very wise.
Glad it was helpful!
solid explanation and description
Great Job !
Very nice demo. Wish I had seen this before I chopped up the 100 peppers I harvested and froze this year!!!!! Great for us canners too. I know what I want for Christmas 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for watching this video! :)
Well I'm sold, I will definitely be ordering one of these for my KitchenAid
Good choice!
That looks awesome!!
Thanks!
Really miss watching you Steve, always enjoyed your and Sheila's recipes. The lord got a WONDERFUL Angel who earned his wings.RIP Steve.(GONE TOO SOON)
Rose Smith oh. Now I feel sad. I had no idea..
☹
Thanks so much
Great Vid! Very thorough. I have a Kitchenaid mixer that I only use for making baked goods. I will consider this attachment. I just might have to start saying let em eat salad instead of let em eat cake! Thanks so much for posting.
Thanks for watching!
It is not a stupid tip! It is very wise, actually. Many people have been pulled into a car's engine fan because they were wearing a tie or loose clothing. Thank you for taking your time to make this video.
You’re very welcome! 👍😊
Cool. Thank you
Good safety tip
I had no idea there was an attachment like that. I knew there is a meat grinder attachment. Sheila that Kitchen Aid mixer was a perfect gift!!
Thanks! He really liked it. He passed away Dec 2018
@@CookingwithShotgunRed So sorry to learn of his passing. I hope you are doing well. Thanks for keeping the channel up.
I've been wondering the same thanl you.
Mine is arriving today, can't wait. I've been making all kinds of cajun food and dicing up the celery, onions and pepper for the mirepoix takes forever. Love my stand mixer and looking forward to having it dice for me as well.
Hope you enjoy! 👍😊
That is a smart tip not stupid!
Great video, very thorough and great camera work!
Thank you kindly! Thank you for watching!!!😀👍 shotgunred.com
Good tip for the bowl being on.
Glad it was helpful!
I just brought mine they went on sale for the 4th. Thank you for your video it was my deciding factor. No regrets. My trial run will be dicing up so carrots and onions, and potatoes for some soup.
Hope your liking it!

Another great review.
Thanks again!
I was convinced when I first saw this video that I should buy this attachment but kept putting it off. (years ago.....) Well, I just showed this video to my wife and she ordered the attachment just like that! Probably took 10 seconds. Thanks for keeping these videos around I keep rewatching them. He was such an interesting guy. We miss him but I'm sure not nearly as much as pore Sheila.
Glad I could help! Thank your wife for us!👍😊
Definitely convinced me to get this!
You will get a lot of use out of it. Unfortunately Steve passed away December 29th 2018
@@CookingwithShotgunRed I am so sorry! Thank you for reaching out and thanks for letting me know.
Wow. Had to replace a beater bar on my KitchenAid...,but it’s so old I actually have to buy a whole new KitchenAid (nearly 40 yrs old). So I’m looking at the pasta attachment, this dicer and a sheet cutter (make a great vegan lasagna and other things). Yes, looking at the ice cream maker but unsure 😐 about room for storage. Here’s a little hint I just picked up for ya : use a “Command Strip” on the top back of appliances like this to wrap/store the cords! Also use these strips on the inside of cupboard doors for the dough bar, beater bars, etc.
Thanks again for sharing & congrats on this wonderful investment / gift . You’re the best.
Thanks for the tip!
Great chef greatly missed!!!
Nice video.. you’ve convinced me. I do wish you would have shown the food going through the chute though...
Sorry about that Jane!
Great safety tip. My kids and now my grandkids help in the kitchen. But I wouldn't let them near that beater..
it is dangerous..i wish they made food processors safer.
Shella, I know Red has passed, and I am so sorry for your loss. Even in the afterlife, Red is still helping us all. Thanks , big guy...
Thanks Dave! You can type in shotgunred1000 and see a lot of videos of Steve out fishing etc…
I agree with you they should make some kind of guard to prevent any accident, I just start washing your vides and I already subscribed because they are great vides thank and god bless you and your family
Thank you for subscribing! We appreciate it!👩🍳👩🍳
Amazing, simply amazing...what are they going to think of next 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you enjoyed the video! shotgunred.com
Miss you Steve!
Thank you!😊👍
Just saw this video and I hope it works as well for me. I have a manual one you lay the vegetables on an then close the top with some effort and food goes through the cutters. Lately I am feeling the arthritis and thought my canning days were over. I have one ordered and am eager to try it out.
Wow, i almost injured myself by being stupid by keeping the rotating gear exposed...didn't even think that the bowl had to stay in position under the gear to prevent an injury...the booklet/manual did not even MENTION this..THANK YOU for creating this video and warning us about potential accidents and painful injuries..so kind of you...please create a video about how to put together the attachment assembly with feed tube and rotating disc/blade..thank you!!
Unfortunately Steve passed away December 29th 2018. We continue to keep his recipes going. When he passed he had made 307 video’s for this channel. Thanks for watching his video’s. ❤️
Do you know if this food processor will dice roasted chili
If you had something to hol the bags underneath you could fill the bags real quick.seal and freeze
does it do tomatoes?
Just wondering if you prepare your cucumbers and pepper mix in any way before you placed them in the airtight freezer bag? If so, how? I've not chopped and froze veggies like this before, but would like to. Also, thank you for the safety tip on the Kitchenaid mixer! I've often thought about catching my hand on it and how could it be avoided! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! :)
Kinda looked on Amazon for a vegie dicer that looked like this one, didn't see one so was wondering where did you get yours. It looked like it did a great job! Just wonder how expensive it is also.
Here is the link :) amzn.to/3wClLMg
just by watching the video gonna get me one, does it dice different sizes?
Yes it does. Steve loved it. You can buy different parts for it. Steve passed away Dec 2018.
Not a stupid tip at all. I worked for a company that was working on a Hair Replacement for a man that caught his long hair on a lathe. It literally scalped him and took one of his ears with it. He was also having a prosthetic ear made for cosmetic purposes. I kid you not. Ever since then I I'm very aware when I'm working with a rotary tool of any type or bending over near a fan that I don't feel has a cage large enough to protect me.
Good video but a discussion/presentation of the different blades and accompanying tools would have helped.
He probably would but unfortunately Steve passed away December 29th 2018.
Curious if you've tried dicing cubes of cheese, like cheddar or pepper jack.
No this was the first time that he did it. Since then he passed away Dec 2018
Thank you for the video. So awesome.
I have a question: Is this dicer able to dice tomatoes without squishing it?

Can KitchenAid food processor dice?
Can you use a food processor to dice tomatoes?
A food processor can also make quick work of dicing your tomatoes. To avoid accidentally making tomato sauce, add tomatoes just a few at a time to avoid overloading the bowl. Then, pulse the processor 2-3 times. Once the tomatoes are chopped to your desired size, remove them from the bowl before processing more.
Thank you so much
I want to purchase it.

I have all of the other blades. The dicing blade did not come with the other three. Did you get them all as a set?
Yes long time ago.😊
Can you use it to dice/cube say cheese?
Yes you can
First of all, I love all things Kitchenaid so it's sad for mee that I had to send my dicer back. Yours seems to work a lot better than mine did. I sent mine back for 2 reasons. First, I didn't like how small the dice size was. Secondly, it seems bulky and pressing the harder vegetables thru the hopper seemed to put a lot of stress on the connection to the machine.
Do you have a video on how to put attachments in? Mine was gifted and it didn’t come with a manual.
No we don't Liz... Sorry :)
You can likely find the manual online or call Kitchen aid and the will help you out
Can it dice tougher vegetables like carrots?
yes😊
thank you for your honesty! mine comes tomorrow, I'm so excited! The tip was great- I've noticed the same thing too in youtube videos that the mechanism swirls- I just received my kitchenaid the other day and told my 8yr old that we will have our hair in buns before using it because I'm sure it could cause some injury- you did this a little over 2yrs ago- do you still like it a bunch?
I still love it! Steve passed away Dec 29th 2018. Steve used it alot when he was living. :)
Cooking with Shotgun Red oh my goodness I am so very sorry to hear that 😔 he seemed like he had an amazing personality 🥰
Would this work to cube cheese or meat for charcuterie?
Cheese would work better.🙂 shotgunred.com

Does it works for tomatoes ?
to Use a Kitchen Aid Mixer to Prepare Tomatoes for .... › use-kitchen-aid-mixer-prepare-tomatoes-canning-using-fruit-vegetable-strainer-attachment
As a general rule, you'll need to reduce by 1/2 to get tomato sauce and reduce by 3/4 to get tomato paste. For example, 4 quarts of tomato product after running it through this Kitchen Aid attachment will yield 4 pints of tomato sauce or 4 half-pints of tomato paste.
Is it strong enough to dice coconuts ?
It is strong! :)
Yes it can you have to cut it open and cut into smaller pieces.
We just bought this same setup a couple days ago. No problem dicing onions & peppers, but with tomatoes, the cutting grate quickly clogs up, and then everything just gets crushed, because the tomato isn't firm enough to push the previous layer of cubes through the grate. Even on the slowest setting, and even after putting olive oil on the grate, the first layer of cubes goes into the grate and gets stuck, and everything after that just gets crushed. We even tried freezing a couple tomatoes, and while a few diced pieces did make it into the bowl, after just a few seconds they were soft again and it was back to crushing. What are we doing wrong?
Do you still like it
Yes!😀
