    My dad always kept a power drill in the kitchen when I was growing up and he still does! He would always attach different ends and get up to all sorts of things like this. Showed him this video and it put an instant smile on his face, "It's me disguised as a French man on UA-cam!" 😂

    I tried this for dinner tonight! Kind of. I didn't have the right kind of drill bit, and I was doing zucchinis, so I wound up just using the peeler to make ribbons by shaving the squash lengthwise. Cooked it up in some butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes, with marinara and Parmesan on top. Great recipe inspiration when cooking for someone on a keto diet!

      Haste's Kitchen even better just be careful the drill bit and the drill itself or actually clean like I wouldn't use the same drill as I'm using anywhere else like a kitchen designated drill and probably one that's not a battery pack just for admission purposes

    2 thin metal or wood rods. Position them as railroad but wider. Put cylinder of the vegetable you want to slice between them so that it can roll along the rods. Use very sharp knife (japanese yanagiba pref). Slide the knife over rods with one hand, rolling the vegie with the other so that the knife cut into the vegies peeling it at the 'rail rods' thickness. Vegies roll on table surface, knife slide over the rods making the unifying thickness. Chop flat peels to the size after folding it. Very easy, very fast, very cool and proffessional, very hard to explain without showing XD

    Oh my goodness, THANK YOU!! I use my handheld Vegetti spiralizer all the time, because I'm a type 1 diabetic and replaced all pasta with zucchini years ago. It is a unitasker, but it is small and I use it often, so I felt it justified as a purchase. But it is not even that good at making noodles; it always wastes part of the squash, and the handguard piece is utterly useless. Your noodles look superior, and they don't have to be made to fit into the small handheld device. In summary, this is amazing, thank you Alex.

    • @robind6300
      @robind6300 7 років тому +12

      I bought the unitasker he showed in this video and the suction cups on the bottom do not stick to the counter, so when you are trying to spiralize, you have to put pressure as you turn the handle so it keeps the food moving, plus hold it down. It is very difficult to use and I rarely use it because of that. I think I will try the drill trick.

    • @Chamitammy
      @Chamitammy 7 років тому +2

      Dacr0n You can just just the pealer and get Tagiatelle (I dont think I spelled it right). If you want spagetti, get a pealer, who can do this :) They aren't as expensive and do a great job!

      @MiseEnAbysse 7 років тому +84

      Buy a drill anyway, it can be usefull in many situations (cooking, home improvement, annoying neighbour, etc.). And no need to buy a very expensive one, there is good drills about $60, it's worthi it (sorry for my english).

    • @Zarogan
      @Zarogan 7 років тому +10
