It's so hard to describe what that word actually means. It can be dessert and it can be, well, "dim sum". But at the same time snacks is a different category. I think it's more like "tea food", kind of like how there's things known as "bar food". It's things that our culture deemed good to have with tea. Our savory and sweet "dim sum" is sort of like the equivalent of finger sandwiches and tiny desserts to English Afternoon Tea.
+Tiffany X cut the rice paper into bacon sized strips, dip the strips into a mixture of soy sauce, nutritional yeast, oil, and liquid smoke, with a bit of warm water (not hot), and pan fry in oil, but don't get it too crispy. If you over cook it the taste is off. Took me a few tries.
L.K. Britton Actually not quite. New Archaeological research did found out that Italy already had pasta before trade relations with the east. It is possible that they come up with the Idea themselves, since many recipes actually predate 1298. The year where Marco Polo came back from his venture into the east. But China was first.

it does not mean dessert.
I've had rice paper for ever in my cupboard, and had no idea I could do so much with it. Thank you 💝😊
I use rice paper to make vegan bacon!
Elizabeth Arrowood details?
+Tiffany X cut the rice paper into bacon sized strips, dip the strips into a mixture of soy sauce, nutritional yeast, oil, and liquid smoke, with a bit of warm water (not hot), and pan fry in oil, but don't get it too crispy. If you over cook it the taste is off. Took me a few tries.
Elizabeth Arrowood that is genius
Thanks!
I...never would have thought of that. That's clever, and I'm not even vegan
Clever culinary and clever humor! Thank you!
Italians shouldn't be too pissed off, pasta is direct result of trade relations with China, after all :p
L.K. Britton
Actually not quite. New Archaeological research did found out that Italy already had pasta before trade relations with the east.
It is possible that they come up with the Idea themselves, since many recipes actually predate 1298.
The year where Marco Polo came back from his venture into the east.
But China was first.
They probably each invented it independently. Its just flour and water or egg with some salt, after all. Why should only one person think of it?
Robin Lillian True! It is a quite basic recipe.
Omg...got rice paper but didn't know I could do so much with it, especially, since I am gluten intolerant. Its just awesome! Thank you so much! God bless
I'm going to veganise your recipes. Thanks for the many ideas. Oh, my God, Tony wants to kill you. I'll check if you will be posting clips also in the next days. I'll pray for you that God keeps you alive. Some Asians might also be after you because you messed up all their recipes as well. ;)
Thank you for the great recipes, the entertainment, the comedy, and your refreshing character.

Instant love with your videos. I actually found your channel in search of French cooking videos to learn a French accent for a theatre production I am in. Came to learn the accent, stayed for great, creative recipes and videos ^-^
