- Today I'm sharing with you my 2023 Spring/Summer Pattern Haul and projects on the horizon! Specifically, I'm sharing with you my recent Simplicity and New Look pattern haul from Joann Fabrics! Summer and spring dressmaking--and sewing up a new summer wardrobe is in full gear and I am heavily inspired by retro fashion (1940's to 1960's styles) at the moment. I'm sharing several fabrics I found on sale at Joann's that I'll be using to try out these patterns and whip up some retro inspired looks, in addition to the New Look and Simplicity patterns I'll be using to create these looks.

Great pattern haul.. Just a tip.. Whenever JoAnn's have McCalls on sale.. KnowMe Patterns are on sale as well. They are under the McCalls umbrella.. Happy Sewing
Very helpful! I had no idea. 😆 there are some super cute patterns they have so I’ll be keeping an eye out for when McCall’s go on sale now. Happy sewing! 🪡🧵
Fabric Mart Fabrics has great chambray and linen. They have limited stocked in colors and prints but I love the quality. I got my order of challis yesterday and could not be any happier.
Ooh, good to know. I keep hearing about Fabric Mart--I will definitely check out their linen (and fabric) selections! Happy sewing to you and hope your project goes well!
Have you ever heard of Fabric mart fabric? I shop their site quite often. Great pattern haul.
Hi Anita! I have but only recently after starting this channel.. I need to take another look at their website. Thank you for the recommendation! 🪡🧵
Would love to know what pattern you used for the dress behind you , thanks ❤
It’s the New Look 6692 pattern. It called originally for a shirred back, but I opted out of that due to my fabric choice and skill level. 😊 I do talk about it more in my mood fabric haul video if you want to check it out there too! 🌷
Enjoy your channel. Great ideas. I’ll have to try Mood fabrics. I mostly buy from Minerva in the UK.
Thank you! Ooh I’ll have to also see what they have online.. not sure if Minerva ships to US but it’s always fun to look 😊 thanks for kind words, glad you enjoy! 🧵🪡
I wouldn't use the cotton canvas to make that peasant blouse. The colour is nice but it will be far too heavy for the ruffles. You want something much lighter weight for that. Your lavender gingham would work well as cotton poplin is a good blouse weight.
I’ll keep this in mind! I just got my fabric from mood in yesterday and agree that poplin, cotton lawn or a more lightweight fabric would be better for the final project-canvas is always my “practice” fabric due to price and ease in sewing but I agree again; those gathers may add too much bulk! Happy creating 🪡🧵
