      wish i could find the VHS tape we made back in the early 90's by duct taping my folks' video camera onto my RC10-T!!!! it only went about 10mph and bottomed out on every imperfection on our street but the footage looked like a legit bumper mounted camera on a real race car.

      Ha ha I still have some rc cars and airplanes that I have owned for 15 years or more that still have the FM huge antenna radios. I have never bothered to upgrade the radios on those as I don’t run/fly them as often as my newer stuff.

      Yes those long fishing rod/lightning rod antennas... having to change out the crystals so you could be on a different frequency...the good old days or as I call them the pre lipo battery era..

      @Radeonr9280x A Only the cheapy RTR stuff. When you start getting into the higher grade hobby kits, the drivetrains and suspension systems required to handle modern brushless power are so intense! I love this hobby :)

    • @DucknCoverin
      @DucknCoverin 6 місяців тому +1

      @@laizalottMost everything is RTR these days. This is from an era where you had to build everything from a box…..or fabricate it yourself. Everything was top notch and made in the USA or Japan. I know because I lived it racing indoor carpet oval in the late 80s and 1990s. Most of the modern brushless hobby grade RTR stuff has a lot of cheap components and electronics. The performance of brushless is magnitudes beyond what we had back then….but quality doesn’t even come close.

      It still is but more so in Europe. Here, the joy comes with more responsibility as perhaps should be the case.
      R/C helicopters can do things that weren’t imaginable just 10 years ago.
      Drones (which people equate to the R/C hobbyists) have been given a bad rap by those that feel their privacy may be invaded. Unfortunately, drones have been caught looking into two story windows.
