I had a different plan for Windows 7 all new machine. I wanted to find an all new Windows 7 era laptop, but that would take me years. Luckily I have them till 2024 or 2029. We'll see then!
Windows 7 isn't that old and still somewhat supported driver-wise. A Windows Vista PC would be interesting though because there are almost no videos about them on UA-cam that talk about the PC and period correct hardware.
I never had a Windows XP machine, in fact, the first PC I had came with Windows 7, it was from around 2010, but I just loved this 2 videos. I really like computers and software in general, in fact I'm planing to one day build my own PC. And its clear to me that you really like these things too, you put a lot of effort in your videos, and above all, you feel a lot of passion for all this. Thats the kind of content that keeps me coming back to this platform, and the internet in general, content and things made with passion by passionate people. Great videos in general dude 👍
I love 3 inch discs so much as a kid I had a “Disney’s Arcade Frenzy” from a cereal box that was mini dvd and also grew up on a GameCube. They get scratched so easy but they are so neat
I still have my old windows XP... The power led died... Same as your video. I also using windows XP professional SP3... Intel pentium 4. But I changed to another ATX casing from April 2022... And yup . Windows XP still my favorite os :) With added 2 GB Of Ram. Love your contents Keep it up :)
I have a computer a bit newer than yours, it's a g41 ECS, a Pentium e5500 and has 2GB of Ram. It was a standard office computer in 2010. I had time to use it as my main computer while they delivered the RTX 3050. It ran Win XP SP3 and it still surfed the web fine. July 18, 2022 5:44AM
Great video! That fan cable splitter adapter is actuall 2x5V+2x12V but standard computer fans are always uses 12V. P.S. : red wires are 5v, yellow wires are 12v
phil's computerlab introduced me to snappy driver installer. gone where the days of searching for drivers of young and old machienes... also the problems with the wireless adapter could be of no supported safety standards like wpa2 etc. great video. keep it up (:
I found my old recovery disc for my old eMacnines Windows XP that i no longer have. Even though there’s no use for it, I still keep it as a memory and just in case i ever find that same model one day.
@ i’ve tried to. The discs contain some kind of file system or encryption that makes the disc ripper fail. It’s barely touched so i know it’s not because of damage to the discs

There are pc speakers that are proper tweeters rather then small like the ones you bought. There is also some extra performance too get from the 9550 if you have a fan plugged in on that molex 3 pin adapter too cool it, like a 1000 - 1200 rpm 120mm fan at the bottom of the case stuck down with like some velcro in both the case & on the fan too keep it standing somewhat & not moving as easily & replace the thermalpaste between the gpu cooler & gpu. (It might be a new in box card but that thermalpaste is still close too 20 years old.) I wouldn't trust it, specially when there is much better thermalpaste these days. And then overclock it a bit via ati tray tools, great little program for older ati cards if the drivers don't let you overclock even on some laptop igpus. Think you'll reach similar numbers too my gigabyte 9550 ddr ram version which lifted performance another 5 - 15% or so basically depending on the game & workload. The smaller package ddr version of the card is the good one but also probably costs extra vs just overclocking the current card or replacing it with something faster on the agp slot. Think 3dmark 2001 se score went from around 8900 too 11500 points or so with a 2.8 ghz pentium 4 & 1 gb ram at the time. Haven't touched that card since like 2018 or so as i scrapped that build for the most part, kept the hdd, soundcard, case, gpu & 3.5 front slotted fan controller that can do 3 fans but probably can be pushed too 6 with 2 per header no problem if they are fairly low powered & not like delta 4500 rpm 120mm fans or something crazy like that but more like 2x be quiet 120mm fans at 1500 rpm per channel. I was needing more performance for what i'd like too run, but then just went eh screw it i'll make it work on my main pc which with some effort almost every game i wanted too run did. At the top of my head it's just excessive speed atm that isn't on my windows 7 rig here but i got it working on my windows xp laptop & also carmageddon tdr 2000 which doesnt like newer nvidia cards like my 1660 super even though someone had the game running on a titan black just fine. Around 450 - 480 mhz core & like 220 - 237 mhz vram i pushed the 9550 too with a 120mm fan pointed at the card comparing the stock numbers here being at 250 core & 200 mhz memory so a pretty decent jump in frequency still.
What tracker is that? I’m a BIG fan of tracker music, and i think my personal collection is around 300-or-so modules, and I’m trying to find a suitable player for my retro build.
Oh I missed that Welcome and Loging off sounds of Win XP, also when you don't have tempered glass to show off your case internally, it doesn't really matter what it looks like. I'm sure you already know it would have saved you at least a couple of hours of cable management. 😅
