These hard critics make your content more accurate and trustworthy than other reviews, which would only praise the manufacturer’s brochure and the overall context of the event… That’s why we listen to your stuff! Keep being true to yourself, for better and for worse!
@OneIssueVoter It’s interesting that you say Throttle House has a better review even though you complained about TST being overproduced in another comment, while TH is probably way more Top Gear-wannabe and overproduced than TST will ever be
Dearest Matt and Zack. This video is TOP NOTCH and you both have put so much into development!! I am proud to be a Smoking Tire fan! Well done gents 👍👍- Keep up the outstanding effort. 🙏🙏💪🏻💪🏻 You both deserve the success you have already achieved and I have no doubt will multiply in the future. Peace from Kelowna, BC
I think it’s a beautiful update. What the DB11 should have always been. The interior updates bode well for the next DBX refresh and the next Vantage refresh. Both good cars that just need this extra cooking time in the oven like the DB12 to really stand out or at least have a legitimate chance to compete.
So as an owner of the DB11 2018 (V12) and DBS 2020 (V12), it was nice to see the infotainment update. The other thing I noticed in the videos that I'm happy to see is that they've detached the paddle shifts allowing them to move with the wheel as you turn. Previously they were fixed in place and much too long in order to compensate for that. Still, there is no way the DB12 should be next to a SuperFast, perhaps the DBS, but even then, the lack of a double clutch makes these cars full much much more sluggish than either of the others.
Great video! Do hate the “today’s video sponsored by…” spots in a lot of channels. That’s why we pay extra fees to UA-cam to not have endless commercials…
The production value and editing of this video has been your best yet since the departure of "one takes." I sincerely hope that this video gets the traffic it deserves given the obvious and intentional effort. Keep it up, fellas.
these recent reviews have been money. killing it with the scripts, edits, and everything in between. keep it up, and thank you for this review even though i don’t have $300k for a “super tourer”.
Looking fit!!! Great job!!! I’ve been watching since the first one take. I always remember the 3 350z cars you drove and how different they were and I’m building my 350z like the stiff one you enjoyed changing lanes in.
That was the most interesting DB12 review of the 3 I watched today. Great work, I noticed a real step up on the recent reviews, the narrative and analysis is very very good.
Great video, new (old) format is very entertaining. But if I had $300k there is no way I'm taking this over a 911 Turbo S or even a Continental GT Speed
Matt looking svelte, turned that ship around real fast! Extremely impressive. I loved the review, I much prefer this softer design language to some of the late 10s Astons
I just discovered your channel and this is a great video on the DB12 if not the best till now. You covered all the topics smoothly and interestingly and let me reassure you, it’s also a Me concern😊 That being said, I’ve subscribed to your channel. Cheers
What a beautiful video and script man!!! So what I am gathering is that while claiming it is the first "Super Tourer" is a huge stretch in what the DB12 represents, it is certainly worthy of the category... Also go scrolly wheels!!! Stop putting everything into capacitive buttons and touch screens hahaha
Another great video, well done guys. I’m definitely more of a fair weather Aston fan, but I have to admit this car is absolutely gorgeous - inside and out. I’m not in the income bracket for this, but definitely this is more my style than something from the Italians.
Amazing video! Not sure how this looks on the backend for y'all, but I have to say, I love these type of videos y'all have been making the last few months. Keep up the good work.
It's not as drop-dead gorgeous as the DB9, but IMO a more worthy successor than the DB11, especially on the inside. The V8 sounds great as well. Personally, I think the DB12 falling slightly behind Ferrari and Bentley in performance is okay. I'm wondering if people shopping in this price bracket are actually cross-shopping. If I was looking at the Aston, it's because I want the Aston, not just "I have $300k to spend. What should I buy?"
The DB11 is still to this day a let down for aston. Also, I think astons get over looked simply because it's an Aston Martin.. which let's be honest, doesn't have the prestige and pop cultural appeal like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche or Bentley.
Great review, you guys are hitting an awesome stride with your content lately! I think you've really developed a groove and format that works well for you and your audience
This is probably the Aston I've been most excited about in the last 10ish years, and definitely the one I want in my future garage the most. Great review Matt!
Yo Matt & Zack I watched your ads all the way thru haha… The TST channel has evolved wonderfully. I see Matt slimming down and looking healthier, Zack has turned into a bonafide personality with more analogies than model 3s on the road and views trending up to match the subscriber count…. Ah, all is fine in automotive land. Keep up the great work guys!
Awesome review Matt! While the outside is certainly improved over the previous car, it was the interior that really blew me away! It's modern, sporty and elegant.
Matt & Zack, this is a really nice format, executed very well. Don’t get me wrong, I love a One/Two Take but this elevated format feels special. Really hauls the crumpets one might say. Great work.
Matt, Zach, that was some of the best work you guys have done. Thoughtful, concise, and very well written. The editing and sound track was spot on, I actually want to go drive this cat around France now!
Man I just watched the f type video from so many years ago and flash forward to tst2023 just got wowed by this video. Excellent production, great review, video, editing etc!
I've always enjoyed your channel and content, but these recent reviews of yours have been next level. Such great writing, presentation, editing, etc. Well done!
I want this car so much. Sounds like the best balance between luxury/comfort and performance. If you want a more edgy sporty car; 812. If you want more luxury; Continental GT. If you want the best balance of both; DB12.
I don't get it. Most people actually liked the front and side view of the DB11 (at least until that awkward Nissan-esque floating C-pillar). So.... they restyled the one part that people liked (and gave it a MASSIVE grille to placate the Chinese market), but they didn't restyle the one part of the car that everyone criticized (the rear)? This seems like a massive misstep for Aston; they still don't understand why people didn't buy the DB11 (though, thankfully, this interior is much better).
@@jaychu3850, on the contrary, I very much can. And, even if I couldn't, that is an extremely poor counter argument. Journalists tend not to be able to afford the luxurious things they review, but their opinions are given tremendous weight for a reason.
Hey man I just want to say you're looking pretty good physically tried to keep up the good work and I love the videos the podcast everything you guys do keep up the great work you and Zack🎉🎉❤❤
Couple things here: 1. Think you tend to compare this or other great cars with other great cars...even getting into the weeds with the options or buttons - a bit too much. I don't think that's a fair assessment. I'm glad you generally like this car. I also think that people who purchase or covet cars in this price range don't care about the specific options. They are essentially buying brands, not options. I don't think someone is pushed to get a Bentley because of options (or lack thereof) on an Aston Martin. 2. Separate question and issue: do car companies listen to good writers like yourself? I hear you bring up a few issues with what seem to be simple fixes to "give people what they want" in terms of options. Some cars seem to miss the mark at times. You would think that after years of bringing some things to their attention, they'd get the message...Keep up the good work!
Lots of videos just popped as the embargo lifted. Easy choice. I trust Matt's read on these thing. And Harry Metcalf. Such a good introduction to the DB12. Happy to hear that Aston has hit the mark. They make such beautiful cars. Hate to see them miss.
Seems like a nice car. Matt just sold a number greater than zero with this video. Personally, the DB4 GT Zagato is the ultimate Aston for my dollar. $14 million and $300 thousand are equally impossible for me, so I can afford to make such distinctions.
Fantastic video. Loved the intro. I think you aired your criticisms extremely politely. It's clear that Aston are making better products today which is nice to nice!
Matt is looking fit these days. I like that you guys are switching up the content. Looks like the channel is finally growing again. This is the only Aston I've ever liked the interior of.
Aston was smart to bring Matt. I trust his reviews. Still, think the Aston for me is a fully depreciated stick shift from a few years ago combined with a mechanic who knows how to source Ford and Volvo parts. These cars look and sound fantastic.
Excellent video Matt, I do have to ask, would this be comparable to the 812? or the Roma? The way I'm seeing the pricing this seems more comparable to the Roma than the 812, also I thought 812 production runs were sold out at this point?
It's quite good posting these embargoed car reviews at a later time than everyone else because as soon as the embargo is lifted I get like 6 videos in my feed at the exact same time and I'll watch one and think I'll maybe watch some of the others later, then totally forget about it and don't watch them. When there is one review that is off-set from the rest I'm much more likely to watch that.
it seems that this aston pulled out the best in every journalist and/or reviewer. Congraz.. it was a joy to watch and listen you on this video. One of the best you did in recent times... or maybe it is the car 😁😁🙊
I'm around a lot of high end late model cars and I don't often see a flat bed picking up a broken down one but when I do It's usuallyn an Austin Martin.
I don’t see Aston Martin on the road that often but last week I was driving my gf audi r8 and we saw a new Aston Martin pass us an he revved his engine as he passed us and we were like did you see that lol 😂 I think they are really nice but we like our all wheel 🛞 drive Germanic cars 😊
"We've created a new class of car by making our DB11 sportier and giving it a new interior!"...It looks amazing, but Porsche and BMW would call that a facelift.
Excellent video, Matt & Zack! Lots to like about the DB12. I do wish it had analogue gauges, as the digital setup sticks out like a sore thumb, IMO. And I genuinely hope the horrendously ugly "horns" that were placed on either side of the rear license plate on U.S.-spec DB11 do not make it to the U.S. DB12.
At this price and for this brand, I agree. Some high end "Real" timepiece/ jewelry style analog dial(s) for one or two items would be fantastic. Say just the RPM guage, like Porsche's tach, but dialed up to real gold or silver with intricate design. Ohhh my. Icing on the cake indeed. And....get rid of any and all plastic.
They better be, I need that stock bag holding to pay off finally :))) But props to finally having an Aston, who has somewhat robust infotainment and tech in it!
I think I would like to see what Porsche does regarding the gauge cluster. Have your screens on either side of an analog RPM gauge. Other than that, it's beautiful and I want one.

@OneIssueVoter It’s interesting that you say Throttle House has a better review even though you complained about TST being overproduced in another comment, while TH is probably way more Top Gear-wannabe and overproduced than TST will ever be
@OneIssueVoterno
i don't get it why he comparing it with 812? That's kinda far from its kind.. he should compare it with ferrari Roma.. and else that close.
Lol Matt is a big shill and sucks at driving. I would take his comments with a HUGE grain of salt
Dearest Matt and Zack.

2 minutes in and already appreciating The quality. Love the narration and great setup
I certainly wasn't expecting to see Matt's bare feet today...
But we got the lucky today
Neither was I but I want more 🤤
I just save my screenshot.
Feet gang out in force today 😅
NOT THE SIDEWALK SLAPPERS
I’ve watched a lot of the DB12 reviews and this was comfortably my favourite. Good job Matt👍🏻

Great looking car and finally an Aston with a decent interior tech setup.
Dont like it, I only like the looks of the Vantage.
@@jeffk464 I actually like the Vantage better too but the tech in it is so awful, it kills the car.
Great looking car It has a decent interior !!
Dude you’re looking good, keep it up!
Great video guys! Love the effort you guys have been putting into these new pieces, some of the best quality on youtube I have seen in a while.

Love the travelogue style, Matthew.
Back in where ? With AMG engine and systems they are where they has been for ages but customers have to visit the servis much less.
Another great video, well done guys.

Love the interior. You’re right though get the old dash with the opposite dials and it would be perfect. Shame it’s a screen for speedo etc
Nothing says genuine British sports car like Mercedes-Benz running gear. It’s like a Spitfire with crosses.
😂😂
Yeah, the mustang had a Rolls Royce engine, so there.
@@jeffk464 What’s your point? P-51D Mustang wasn’t being marketed as a premium British car.

I think I would like to see what Porsche does regarding the gauge cluster. Have your screens on either side of an analog RPM gauge. Other than that, it's beautiful and I want one.
Yes, the 992 gauge is the best approach I've seen on a modern car IMO. Unfortunately it looks like it's going away for the 992.2 😢
The Rapide S was not a miss. Boy was it beautiful and it sounded fantastic. Fun and engaging to drive.
Looking leaner Matt. Stay with it man!
That is a stunningly beautiful car! That grille looks fantastic and harkens back to their One-77.
