I wouldn't call it "Oscar worthy" but it is certainly at the level of Hollywood cinematography and surpasses all other car review channels, including Top Gear for this car in particular.
The videos from Henry and Jason are so well made, they are actually crafted to perfection. They are extremely well filmed, written, edited. You can tell that effort and passion are put into these videos and that makes them way more special than what the rest of YT channels and even TV programs with way more budget can produce.
I wanted Henry's review to be the first I watched. A special journalist for a special car. The video did not disappoint, and neither does the Vanquish. I'll take mine in Aluminite Silver, which I assume is a similar hue that might be chosen for that fella who shall not be named 🙂
MmmMMM! Those view where it is from the drivers perspective. BEST. EVER! Every other attempt to capture on film on how it feels the drive a particular car (too low, too high, off to a side, angled wrong, etc.). Man those were great. And the Henry's narration of what makes these cars special is just bang on, not a word misplaced. Well done Hagerty production team!
Hagerty reminds me of the old Top Gear. The cinematic intros definitely remind me of them. The intro looks like something taken from The Perfect Roadtrip's intro with the Riva Aquarama. Hagerty, this is probably the 3rd Aston Martin video I will be watching repeatedly.
After getting home from work, and seeing that all of the various motoring channels I’ve subscribed to have uploaded reviews for a new car, Henry Catchpole is always the journalist I look for, to watch.
Once you pointed out the sound similarities to the modern BMW 6s, I couldn’t unhear it. Not a bad thing whatsoever. I love the deep grunt of both engines.
I'm so glad you posted this at the exact same time as Top Gear as I would of watched that but I would much rather hear Henry's review than 25 different presenters at Top Gear I've never heard of
I’m struggling to finish this review. His monotone dialogue isn’t for everyone and doesn’t get me excited for the launch of Aston’s flagship vehicle (or any car he reviews)
I was expecting henry to talk about the looks of this vanquish a lot more because i think this one of the best looking cars of the modern era.that back end.ufffff
...another outstanding review Henry! Aston is back, that's for sure. The lineup is amazing, the cars are jawdroppingly beautiful, although, from certain angles, the Vanquish gives me some POLESTAR ONE vibes...rear 3/4's a giveaway. I've been praising the FERRARI Dodicicilindri design for a while now...but comparing with the Vanquish...dude, no hope...Aston is on a classe of its own. Sheer bloody poetry in motion. Cheers mate. Keep it up
Thanks, Henry (and team), for all the effort. You are always cerebral, fun, and do such a good job sharing what a car is like to interact with. Cheers.
Yes, it's been said that this V12 has B58 hints on its sound... 😅 I think the DBS looked better, but it's still a phenomenal car. The interior is fantastic, I don't care how similar it is to its brothers! Once again: lovely review!
Still can't believe we can get such high quality content for free. Absolutely fantastic review. Loved the close to the ground camera, it felt like I was driving it a bit.
It's amazing how, bit by it, AML are returning the looks of their cars back to the Vantage circa 2016 - after making that disastrous shift to the AMG Vantage and the DB11. The squared-off rear reminds me a lot of my N430. Now, if they can just reduce the gapping shark front back to the proportions of my N430, then they'll have something truly wonderful to look at from all angles.
Thank you Hagerty, we all love henry and you too for letting us have him ). I had two vanquishes and really ), like this, much better than a Ferrari c12. Would have bought one if it had four seats and the headlights were different from the other (also beautiful) models and if the price was under 300k .
Very nice video, Henry, thank you. Love the choice of hotel - Cala del Volpe near Porto Cervo - to ingress and set the scene for a brilliantly exquisite and aesthetic review. Keep doing what you do!
A Henry type of review in my view and I was not disappointed at all. Car looks stunning but in my view its a bit too big. I will be honest,I like the rear of the DB12 better but what a great car overall. Very luxurious interior with that pan roof and what a sound.
I think Henry could inherit the torch from respectable auto journos of the past, from the era of David E. Davis, Brock Yates, et al. All the other videos of this car are hosted by guys who have yet to own a pair of leather shoes or a shirt with buttons, but are *super-excited to be here today* to read their press release-script.
I know it's an expensive super car that will be owned by the super rich but, bespoke tires just sound like a huge headache no matter what. Beautiful video.
Absolutely stunning review Mr Catchpole (and Team) I am not quite sure what to make of the Rear end though, simply because the one of the predecessor was the most beautiful GT-bum in modern car era…
Nice video and review... yet again. Must be some of the best photografing and editing on the net. And Henry always interesting and sharp to listen to. By the way, what watch is it that you're wearing? Looks like a dive watch - and I am looking for one! 🙂 Cheers, JS
A beautiful and very powerful GT with far more conservative looks than the Dodici Cilindri ( as you would expect). The engine is obviously a masterpiece and has a wonderful throaty tone. What bothers me a bit is that these GTs are getting rather big and to my mind it’s a shame. But other than that, this Vanquish will no doubt remain as one of Aston Martin greatest. And as a reminder you pinpoint with infinite talent what these cars are all about. For us followers of your videos, this is a true blessing. Please never stop (not only driving). 👍😎
The aerial view at 1:00 reminded me of Matt Farah's comment when testing the 2021 Porsche Turbo S. "These new cars are so wide you can only run one line, there is no moving within the lane."
It's crazy to me that a 2-ton GT like the Vanquish with its 113.6" wheelbase doesn't offer rear wheel steering, but a lightweight special like the 911T makes this feature mandatory, despite its 96.5" wheelbase.
The first minute and a half is worthy of an Oscar for cinematography.
Hagerty is almost always that way
I wouldn't call it "Oscar worthy" but it is certainly at the level of Hollywood cinematography and surpasses all other car review channels, including Top Gear for this car in particular.
Henry's camera crew followed him to Hagerty from Carfection, and you'd almost be at pains to find a moment where it _doesn't_ show.
Low bar. Skip for me. He’s the furthest thing from Daniel Craig and so is a burgundy car.
I came to the comments to check if I was not the only one that felt that
Hagerty no doubt has the best editing, big props to the team.
What a fantastic video, absolute class
The intro is out of this world
The world is not enough...
I love that he mentions the firing order just for the sake of it
No one:
Truly no one, including the 28yr olds driving it
Lamborghini: ordine di ascenzioni
What a crushing victory for AM! Beauty, class, presence, crushing power and a useable UI.
The gauge cluster looks cheap.

Same same.
For me Henry is hands down the most accomplished all round reviewer out there

Well done Hagerty production team!
Car looks absolutely stunning
Same as always 🤷♂️
they used the same interior in all 3 Models . Lazy and Uninspiring
@@CaptainKedah better than that joke of an anterior in the McLarens.
I absolutely love the rear end, you can totally see a bit of 60's Aston in those vertically stacked tail lights!
It absolutely does and I just noticed it.
Its a cool risk in design.
I like it too.
Polarizing
I do not like it, but I do like variety. To each their own!
@@thomasschimmeyer8715 Really appreciate that perspective
For me it’s hideous, by far its weakest design point. But beauty is ….etc.

Aston has improved so much with these new designs

The first time in any car review that I rewatched the intro 4 times, well done chaps with invoking the Bond spirit! Oh what a day to be an AM fan.
No James Bond.
Proceeds to James Bond.
Epic.
It's Gen Z humor. Self-referential "irony" that completely avoids sincerity.

A masterpiece in cinematography Henry 👌
The opening, the music, damn just beautiful. That Vanquish on the shore, beautiful yet beastly, like a predator ready to pounce.
Top Class - Henry Catchpole is one of the best presenters ever.

Who would’ve thought we would just get to consume cinematic mastery like this on UA-cam. Wow.
It's very good when the editor likes cars, the presenter likes cars, and apparently everyone involved likes cars. You guys do a great job.
This is honestly the only review you’ll need to watch for this car, I fear. This man is almost too good at his job lol
Awsome, but nothing will beat the beautiful sound of the 2012 V12 Vantage!
Also in a package that's not far too big for windy roads!

Absolutely love this 1000 nm v12 bi turbo beauty. Torque is key....torque is king even more so for a super GT. Long live the v12 kudos to Aston Martin
The classiest masterpiece in this modern era. Well done Aston 🎩
Some differences but the Aston absolutely blows the Dodici Cilindri out of the water! Different class!!
Yes, sure, the 12Cilindri is a very better car than the Aston 🤭
Yes, the Ferrari is unequalled. Better in every way.
Another beautifully written and narrated piece Henry. Keep them coming
