- I slap a 40 buck fred head imitation on my bike and see how she rides. seems to do fairly well. i went for high compression for a reason. more power. engine is actually much cooler even as well.
Hello, do you know if it's possible to mount a high compression head on a 49cc engine? Is the difference in the 49cc and 66cc engines only on the piston and cilinder? Can I mount a 66cc engine cilinder and piston on a 49cc engine? Thanks in advance. Cheers from Portugal.
realisticly just scrap that and get a 66cc
change that stock exhaust and you'll notice a difference
I did that
I got a ktm one on mine flys
I used to build 289 and run them at the drag strip had an old set of crane Fireball heads ported from hipo 289 heads they had round exhaust ports and probably didn't flow that good 11.85 ET 118 MPH
+john reilly I had a solid lifter one I built with ported out stock 65 heads. Spun it to the moon. I recently decided to retire it
Those 289 will rev to the Moon I had the best luck at 6800 with mine solid roller cam
Torker 2 manifold 800 double Pumper
Turbo 400 with an adapter plate
+john reilly I'm amazed it could handle that much carb! Sounds like a race only application for sure
I wanna try a 2300 mile trip on the one I'm building
Bernie Anderson that's far
Bernie Anderson WTF?!. 23 or 2300 miles?
I've thought about doing longer trips, but it takes alot of prep and you've got to ride on the side of some fast highways along the way. Sounds challenging, i'd like to see someone do a trip like that.
Like the way you spent most time talkin bout everything but the head
Boost bottle are a joke first upgrade is a pipe mz65 then a head/carburetor/window piston/reed vavle/ & when you have it apart clean up the transfer & port match every thing & it should fly with a lot of power
How come I have a gap in between the head surface and the gasket? It's a brand new out of the box engine that has a gap when pressed down on the cylinder body and tightened down, the bike won't start obviously with such a gap. I even switched the head to an old engine, still wasn't flush.
Salvatore J. Quaglieri you have to leave exhaust and intake open to see when the piston is in highest possible position just to where there’s no contact. You may need a gasket with a higher gage thickness so it’s spaced properly. I saw this from the u tube the guy from Norway with his videos are the best to learn. Most horse power out of a two stroke he’ll go in slow motion so you can adjust it for the best results!
you need a better carb better intake valve and a better exaust what do you expect from stock carb exaust etc the head won't do her job correctly if you look at freds video explaining on how to use and conbine you will have the perfect set for the performance head head alone with stock parts won't do anything its only for looks
Noel Santos it will keep the engine cooler & it won't get as hot
Yo if you take an old plug wire off a car you know a 8mm or so cut it to size it will skrw right in to that C.D.I box along with a NGK plug and as you wer saying a reed valve and a xzaust pipe off a Yz 80 you can get 10hp or better out of that and if you get the crank balanced and better bearings it won’t vibrate the way that one dose. So mutch smother ride it takes some brans to get the exhaust to work but brans you got so if you get a chance to try it you won’t eaver go back and always put a rervew meer on those gas bikes it will save your ass
Whats your fuel ratio? If got this head would 32:1 be okay?
no way 25.1
I use 40:1
Really? Crap if you're right then i been running mine backwards. I thought for filter to serve its purpose the fuel would go from the tank through the fuel line into the filter then out into the fuel line to the carburetor I figured if I had it the other way like yours then the fuel would not pass through the filter first
What spark plug you used #
Should I get this if I am a amature and have never built one of these
Player 1 yeah. If you’ve done the research. And got the right tools you can do it with no problem 👍
Larger pilot jet help lower end speed
What is the head bolt torque ?
15 ft/lbs.
put a performance head on a racing engine! makes a hell of a difference but boost bottle is worthless. it's actually worse cause it's more weight and provides nothing
that's the same engine u had all this time
+Neil Johnny almost, i blew the top end once and rebuilt it.
ever had any other issues
+Neil Johnny nope, it's done very well. I keep it at 25mph or below so I think that helps the engine last. Plus I don't want to die. I have a motorcycle for speed. I've put over 3400 miles on that engine.
Tou sound like hank trill
fuel filter is on backwards.
+Djembe Ludovico nope, it’s not
Djembe Ludovico. no its not i got the same fuel filter ya jackass
@@justinwise86 why did you call him a jackass 😂
the lack of lower rpm power comes from your chain being wayyyyyy too loose.
+Doctor Jack (Dr. Jack) what in the flying hell does that have anything to do with low end. its not like it has some crazy deflection and is jumping all over or even hardly moving from the videos i have seen of myself?
If I pull the throttle, and I don’t accelerate or move... that’s because of chain slack ?
Blow-n-Money ENT no
looks like you have some nice steel there. what a waste of a beautiful classic bike. looks like it was near mint. tisk tisk. use something a little less rare next time.
no one cares about supid classic bikes. My motorized bike was a pretty nice classic one as well. Looks nothing like what it did before.
stormwalker100 you literally sound like a 5 year old... It's his money and his bike he can use it for what he wants, stop being a jerk
Rare? it's a generic ten-speed with a steel pie plate and chrome rims. It's a $20 bike.
STFU.. Bike snob
