Early '67 front bumper guards had rubber strips and the later ones were all chrome. Cheers!

My 67 is built in April 67 in New Jersey. It has the early door hinges, gas line, and one piece steering column. It does have the later plastic water bottle. What I have learned is different factory' s did different things and changed part when ever they ran out of the other.

Very interesting, My 67 was also built in April at the Metuchen, NJ plant, It has one piece steering shaft, late gas line, plastic water bottle, early style trunk hinges, late style door hinges, and late style brake lines.

Mine's early 67 from the San Jose plant
The schedule build date was October 5th 1966 and it was actually built on October 11th 1966
Sold at University Motors in San Diego California and sometime in its life made its way 1300 miles to Missouri

Thanks for this information, I just ordered some brake lines and was confused about the early and later model designations. Sounds like I am a late model since my 67 convertible came out of the Dearborn plant in May of 1967. I have the wiper plastic container, hinges and other items you listed. This helped alot!

My san jose 67 fb has early door hinges that you say and a collapsible wader fluid bag, a flexible steering. But my instrument cluster and wire loom is 68. The VIN tells me that my car was made in Dec 67.

Hello, on my 67 mustang coupe built in San Jose in November 66, the Service Specification Decal on the shock tower is that of the 65-66 models without the black at the bottom. It seems to be the original one because it is old and yellowed. Very interesting video !

Mickael Joannes ...my Uncle worked at the Ford plant right out high school in '66, so he may have worked on your car....and FYI: the plant was actually located in Milpitas, Calif, a smaller city that borders San Jose to the north...🇺🇸✌🏻

The world is small! maybe he was the one who put the wrong sticker on mine (-:
I read that they were finishing old models of service spec stickers.
I didn't know it was Milpitas, thanks!
(Sorry for my bad English, it's google translate because I'm French.)
      Thank you !

Early production 67s also had different motor mount configuration, it changed in jan 67 . to a different rubber isolated angle and don't line up with your lower
Mets. On early aug to dec models

@@ClassicNation based on the date code, mine was built on the 22nd of Feb in the New Jersey plant. Just found the original build sheet taped to the wire harness under the dash and have the original bill of sale where my parent bought the car new on March 8, 1967 in Buford GA.

On my early 67 Vert, I noticed something on the under-dash wiring harness. The connection to the wiper/washer foot switch is made by four individual female spade connectors. This is different from the other three later 67 cars, where there is a larger multi plug that snaps in place.

  • @johnharden2018
    @johnharden2018 2 роки тому

We should note the different motor mounts on early production v8 . Word I got is they change the angle of the rubber isolator . Subsequently if you order aftermarket replacement for an early 67 they won't line up

I thought the early 67' s had the brake line over the column and the later 67's had them under? I have a FoMoCo bag wiper bottle, lines over the column and both brake lines and fuel lines travel through the Trans Tunnel. Later 67's the fuel lines run along the rocker.
