You did a great job driving after not driving a manual for a while! The Shaker does stick up a bit, It's awesome to look a that while your driving! Glad you a loving your new Challenger!
Thanks Man. Appreciate it. It’s funny. You just fall back into old habits and came back pretty natural but I really had no idea how it was going to go. It’s not like you can just put it into drive. Haha. I am loving it and one think I had found to be most helpful is the power from the motor/idle is strong enough we’re you can make small movements like adjusting in a parking spot without needing the gas pedal. The clutch has a strong spring to it and you have a great feel for engagement. Learning that has made my life so much easier.
Just like riding a bike. Glad you're enjoying it and also glad to hear that you have the timers! I think those are more useful and fun than the perf pages.
yes sir. i was surprised at how easy it fell back into habit. felt like i was driving a 6M for a long time. yeah if I didnt have timers i would be totally disapointed but I would have had to get the $3K Plus package to get the performance pages. The Shaker and performance handling group was priority #1. thanks man.
Not jealous. Nope, not at all. Zero jealousy. Seriously. Really. None. Ok I’m insanely jealous! I miss manual. This is awesome. Great job driving it after 13 years!
hahah!! thanks for the complements. I missed driving manual so much too. the first 10 years driving I drove a manual, got an Auto G8, 3 Chargers and I just needed to drive one again before I got too old to want to. thanks again man!!
oh absolutely does. i am starting to get into it a little. its awesome be able to take quick stabs / burst of power and hearing that exhaust open up. its been so awesome so far
did pretty good for not driving a stick in 13 years. And i know what ya mean about the shaker, it takes a little getting used to but its awesome. I had a shaker on my old 04 mustang mach 1 and I loved it. Congrats again on the car.I want to go order a challenger scat pack in a couple years, automatic though, got bad knees lol.
Thanks allot. I guess it’s one of those things that you never forget. I was surprised at how well it just came back to me. A scat pack would be amazing. Hope you get one one day. Just wish we got less snow here. Otherwise I would have one.
Has it been awhile.... lol. Welcome back to the row your own gear club! Glad you were able to find the car you wanted for the deal that worked! Ps, in the stang, my hand is always on the shifter.
Thanks man!!! Its been a blast... it just feels so much more comfortable with the hand on the shifter you know. The main thing now is getting used to placing so much focus on the read which isnt a bad thing but anything from changing a channel on the radio etc has be timed out when your hand is free etc.
Well, I put my order in on May 6, for a 2019, 392 T/A, just got word it ships in two days on the 22, they said 4 weeks to delivery in Anchorage. So, I’ll be doing the same thing. I had a 69 Bee in the 70’s. First Dodge since then, oh what the hell, I’m 68, you only live once. I’m going old school too, stick it! Keep it between the paint! 👍
That’s awesome!! Congrats!!! Yours was built a little quicker than mine. I ordered mine on April 2nd and it was finished on the 26th I believe. You are gonna love the 392 T/A with the 6 speed manual. I broke mine in per the manual and it was hard not to get into it but I want to keep this a while so it’s worth doing it right for a week or two. Now that it’s broken in and starting to open it up it’s been such a joy. I daily drive it and the first few days concentrating on starting it and not stalling it was a little taxing but now a week and a half in I am not even thinking about that anymore and i could not be happier that I got the 6 speed. Getting rubber in 2nd and sometimes third is something you’ll never appreciate unless you get a stick. Best of luck to you with the new T/A my friend. Wow. That would be killer to have something like that (69 Bee) in the 70s or the time those came out. So awesome man!!!
wow crazy happy for you my friend!!!! very exciting congratulations! and of course im particularly fond of your octane red (my color). looks astonishing when its cleaned/waxed and at dusk it really pops. good luck!!
Man, I bet you can't wait to lay into that throttle! What a great feeling when a car brings you that much joy👍👍 Looking forward to the new journey brother!
you are so right. I am at 260 miles and starting to give it some extra throttle in 3rd adn 4th to start breaking it in more without high revs. thanks man me too!!
You know i have bought and build many new cars/ motorcycle and built engines. I have always broke them in hard and never had a problem. I might not been on redline but close to it
I hadn't driven a manual in 25 years. Picked up a new manual Subaru, and was no problem. I think it's like riding a bicycle. My 16yo daughter passed her test in a 5 speed....
Omg me too. It’s the first thing I do once I start the car. I don’t like driving without sport mode being on. Like you said the throttle response is so much better with it on.
Did you put it in sport mode ,and open the exhausts up ? There are electronic valves on each exhaust pipe that open up ,and make the exhausts louder however each time you start the car you have to push the sport button that initiates that mode........Active exhaust......Enjoy........
I put it in sports mode at all times (as soo as I start it). Like you said for the exhaust and I also do this so it disables the annoying skip shift too. Love the active exhaust.
After over 2 years of driving an automatic Elantra, I visited my ex Ford Dealer in the Fort Worth Area, and suckered a salesman into letting me test drive a new 2018 Mustang GT. I opened the driver window, and fired it up. It sounded epic! The salesman was amazed I had no issues with driving the manual after nearly 3 years. I amazed also. I enjoyed being a kid again for 15 minutes. If I could have afforded the $40K GT, I would have bought it immediately. Now I want that GT and a Shaker 6 speed Challenger.
Great man! You driving is really good. And the car is beautiful and sounds amazing. Congratulations, enjoy it. Can you explain a little more what is that skip shift?
thanks allot man!! appreciate it! I will definitely be doing a video on it to demonstrate it but basically for fuel efficiency purposes the gear box will lock out 2nd gear in certain circumstances... so if you are taking it easy in 1st gear and you are going around 20 mph and pull the shifter back into 2nd... 2nd will be locked out and the shifter directs you right into 4th gear. Its really insane if you ask me.
Nope. If you are going forward with any speed over maybe 5 mph it won’t allow the shifter to move over to where reverse is. Reverse is a good amount past 5th and you feel it.
@@BurnseysRT So you mean any speed move forward >5mph and you try(accidently) to shift reverse it won't be able to right? is it because the reverse gear is blocked when the car drive forward?
When I drove an r/t when I switched gears it would buck really hard. I tried going slow on the clutch and tried giving it gas while shifting and it still did it. Any tips?
The reason you're not supposed to rest your hand is the fact that when you do that, the wear plates on the shift forks inside the trans will wear to the point that damage can occur
Very true. Made the wrong assumption. I believe the tazer will add more features in the EVIC but thats not as cool. Oh well. Thanks for making sure I knew.
You did a review on a product that had performance pages that product is hard to find if you can give the review on the challenger that be another option for us
I didn’t test drive this car. I had to order it. Just knew I wanted to get back into a manual so didn’t think it would matter. I was really dying to get back into a manual I would have adjusted to whatever at that point.
Hey Guys. Holy Crap does Sport Mode liven up the challenger. It’s a completely different beast with it turned on. I didn’t hammer on it yet but the response and exhaust note is like on another planet with sport mode turned on. Wow.
When I was a teenager learning to drive stick I was the worst at it! Fast forward to being a adult I drive a manual now and it’s easy as breathing I stall out in first a little but for the most part I absolutely love driving my car! I understand the feeling you don’t forget!!
Beautiful car, best color. Have a '16 Mustang GT performance pack, could've just as easily ended up with a Challenger but the Dodge dealers around town only really sell Rams, Jeeps, and Caravans. The 5.7 is a great engine, very torquey. Love your shifting, looks like a real fun car.
Nice car and great decision with the manual. I'm trading my 18 Charger RT for a 17 Challenger RT shaker with 6speed next Wednesday. Like you it's been years since I've driven a manual but I drive trucks so hopefully I wont be that rusty. Again. Congrats.
Thanks man. I am loving the manual. Excellent choice. Congrats to you as well. You will love it. Nope you will good to go. The clutch has a good spring to it and makes it easier to drive. I filmed a clutch review video I am hoping to get up in the next couple days if you are Interested. Good luck and congrats.
@@BurnseysRT highly doubt it was test driven at the factory. I know they are assembled in Ontario Canada then they get trucked to buffalo New York and then put on a train for distribution throughout the country. At arrived via flat bed truck to my dealerships door with 1 mile exactly on it. The sales manager drove it down the road to fill it with gas then they detailed it and handed me the keys with 1.6 miles on it. When I ordered it I told them if it has more than 5 miles on it when it arrives I don't want it because I saw another custom order in their showroom with 1 mile on it so I wanted the same treatment and I got it.
Nickolas Beal I worked at a Crycler dealer and they required that new cars are driven 10 miles to find any problems with the car that the factory missed. Burnseys Rt you may have had a car where customers drove it 10 miles on a test drive (they usually come with 4-8 miles and then you add another 10 from technicians to do the required drive).
How do you still like your Challenger R/T ? It is now Feb 2021. Are you unhappy with anything ? MPG ? Would you still get the shaker hood package ? I am trying to decide between this R/T manual or the Mustang GT manual. Any thoughts or suggestions ?
I love it. It’s crazy I am in the last year of my lease already. Below is a video I did that covers if I would get the shaker package again. Or if you should or maybe shouldn’t. The only thing I am unhappy with is the fact I don’t have the 8.4” touch screen / performance pages. And I hate the windows with them not being in a window frame. I have to park outside in the winter and my windows freeze and won’t drop below the weather stripping... then I can’t close the door. I love the manual would get it again without question. I like the challenger over the mustang because it more practical. Huge trunk and good back seat for passengers. But the mustang will be faster. It’s all in preference. Good luck man. ua-cam.com/video/IubNcFtEvM8/v-deo.html
Thanks so much man. You don’t ever really forget but it was nerve racking for a little while. I am absolutist loving life now. I missed driving a manual for so long.
I'm from europe, driving manual all the time. Never take your car out of gear when slowing down before the red light, driving down hills or something. It just doesn't make sense and it's not safe. Just let off the throttle and brake or just let the engine do it's work. Neutral should be used only if your car fully stopped. Take care!
I appreciate you making sure I know that. That was mostly a nervous habit but it has gotten better over time. A couple others noticed and asked me why I did that too. Then I started catching myself. Thanks again. Appreciate it.
Haha. That’s funny. I love my 6M and I am going to be getting an auto Scatpack soon. Can’t go wrong. Do wish sometime I woulda got a Scatpack 6M and then I woulda had it all.
I do know I will miss the 6M 100% and would choose to get the 6M 100 out of 100 times if it were not for health reasons. I had a manual for my first 3-4 cars and wanted to get one more in before i go back to an auto for my DD due to potential health reasons. So fortunate for the time and opportunity I had to drive a 6M as a DD.
Hey man. Thanks for checking out the video. A taser is a device that you plug into your obd2 port to override and install certain features on your Mopar. It’s made by Z Automotive. In regards to the skip shift or shift lock check out this video I did to try and explain that. Thanks again and let me k ow if you have other questions. Dodge Challenger 6 Speed Manual Skip Shift Demonstrated (2nd Gear Lock Out) ua-cam.com/video/DfMKnUSvh20/v-deo.html
Absolutely man!!! I miss driving one so much. did you ever switch out the stock shifter with a different one? The stock one is fine but i hear some of the others out there are far superior.
No doubt man!!! No regrets at all. I am loving driving a 6 speed again. I missed it so much and it’s lived up to its expectations. It’s not as quick as my 8 speed charger but I enjoy every second driving it so it’s perfect. I drive in primary bumper to bumper traffic during the week and to boot I drive my car in 100+ inches of snow each winter so I needed the added ground clearance so the RT just fit what I needed a bit better. Thanks for checking out the video and the support. Appreciate it.
Burnseys RT that’s interesting, so you’re gonna drive your challenger in the snow? Because that was the biggest thing I was on the fence on was getting a ram when my lease is up or a challenger because it’s cheaper but I questioned how it will perform in snow
Hey man. I know the charger and challenger is not apples to apples but check out these winter driving videos in my old charger. I have dedicated snows and my Charger was a beast in the snow. It had 3.07 gears and did amazing man. The challenger may not be as good but it does t have to be if it’s anywhere close to how my Charger did. Enjoy. m.ua-cam.com/video/aEYmP_pPbjo/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/QeBiAtRvilM/v-deo.html
Oh I think you’ll be fine. The Challenger is an easy manual to drive. The power and torque makes it almost impossible to stall and is very forgiving. Good luck Man. Happy 4th
I think you did just fine. It’s like riding a bike🤷🏽♂️. I haven’t been behind the wheel of a stick shift in a while as well. Maybe about 8, to 10 years. I miss it.
The clutch is relatively heavy. I dont have allot to compare it to. Most of the manuals I have driven were 4 cylinder FWD cars and all of those were light as a feather. This on the other hand has a pretty good spring to it. I have not driven a manual for many years prior to my challenger but my left quad got quite the work out as it was sore for the first several days after starting to drive again. Now I am good to go.
What do they say not to ret your hand on the shifter? I sold my scat pack challenger to dealer for a great deal. I know the automatics are not quicker but that manual is nice! Liked & Subbed! 👋🏾
Thanks for the sub. I forget exactly but it was stated in the owners manual. I recently got a Charger scat pack otherwise I’d check the manual for you. I have had many manuals in the past and always tested my hand on it with zero issue but maybe it matters ???
I’ve been driving standard since I was a kid Once you know how to drive it you never forget you’re doing a great job 👍 My shaker only has 1200 miles on it since July when we got it scat pack has 22,000 miles . challengers are fun to drive. It would look good with the old Hurst shifter 🤔One good modification that’s cheap is a rear muffler delete both my vehicles have it it makes it sound old school. Graduations on the vehicle
Thanks man! You are right though - once you learn you can always drive it. I am just glad it all came back as naturally as it did. The more I drive it the more I think I am going to look into shifters at some point. Its perfectly fine now because its still a novelty but eventually i'll want something a little more precise etc. I am having a great time driving it. surprised at how comfortable I am driving it already in traffic etc. It feels allot smaller than my charger which is nice. its only 4" shorter.
Rachelle B. I agree 100%. The 2017+ exhaust are great stock. I had 3 charger RTs before my challenger (2012,2014 and 2016) and they were church mouse quiet but these active exhausts are beautiful.
I wouldn’t worry. It comes back so natural. By the end of a few hours driving I was back to doing my old habits and felt so natural. I didn’t drive it for 13 years prior to me getting my challenger. I was nervous too but now I couldn’t be happier.
Drive it like you stole it, just don't do any hard burnouts or redline it. Car is adaptive to your driving style, so if you drive it cautiously, it will act as such.. So drive it somewhat hard.. As for the skip shift eliminator, if you put it on yourself, be careful which solenoid you connect it to, I believe it's the bottom one. Nice looking ride enjoy it. Octane Red? If you get the Tazer, don't forget that you need the double bypass harness.
I am getting real close to letting her rip!!! 260 miles in. Haha. Thanks man. Yeah octane red. I absolutely love the color. Can’t get over it. Good tip on the tazer. It’s a want but we’ll see what happens. I want tires and maybe a couple other things first.
Gladd to see you have that millennial anti theft device working properly. I love the cockpit feeling of that challenger. Its been a while since ive had a manual but whats a 1-4 gear lockout? Back in my day if you money shifted it you learned not to do it again.
haha totally man. I am glad it went well the first drive with the 6M. The cockpit is awesome. love the angle towards the driver.. So under certain driving conditions (Light throttle and if you let first gear wind out to 18-22 mph) it will lock out 2nd gear and forces you to shift into 4th.
dasllamas lol! You are so right about millennial anti theft device! When I traded my 2003 5sp Neon in back in 2013 no one at the dealership could drive a manual, similar to Burnsey driving his Challenger to the gas station because his salesman couldn't drive a stick.
Yeah guys this kid was a good 10-15 years younger than me. Totally agree it should be a requirement. If you are ever forced to need to do it you could mess up someone’s car.
Thanks allot man. I guess once you’ve driven one it’s almost instinctual. It’s so nice being a week and a half in. I am enjoying it more and more now that I don’t have to concentrate so much and starting it off in first.
Why do you keep taking it out of gear and putting it back it at the red light? This is the same car I am going to get around Oct this year. I agree with you on getting the manual. You made a great choice for the money spent and the horse power you get. Did you chose the color or was it what was on the lot?
I have no idea. I am a fidgety kinda person. Always have to be doing something. Haha. Thanks man. I absolutely love it and couple be happier. Where I am a shaker manual is not to be found. They did a 500 mile search and could not find one with the performance handling group. So I ended up ordering it in April and picked it up around 5 weeks ago.
The clutch is nice ImO. I want to eventually do a video on the clutch. It’s a stiff spring feel and stiffer than most manuals I have driven. After 13 years of not driving a manual And all of the sudden driving one. I will say my quad and legs were sore for the the first week I drove it. Now I love it. But most have been FWD and the clutch have been really light so I don’t have allot to compare it to.
@@BurnseysRT thanks. Because of you're videos I been looking at some RTs with 6 speed just was wondering if they were better or worse MPG then my 2017 ram 1500 hemi..18 sounds good to me!
I think you should be able to get 18 with a mix of city and highway. If it’s heavy city expect less but I am getting as good of mileage as I did with my Charger with the 8A. Very pleased. Good luck.
haha! Thanks Man. Its getting close - starting to open her up a little in 3rd and 4th but not in 1st or 2nd yet. She'll have around 300 miles on Friday so if the weather is nice i'll play around a bit.
You could tell you were nervous ... put it in neutral and then first about 30 times at every stop ... sort of funny. You'll settle down in time, because you've GOT TO HAVE a stick shift in a nostalgic-style muscle car ... GREAT CHOICE !!
Totally nervous. I knew I could drive it but a 12-13 year dry spell will do that to you. 6-7 months later I am so happy with my choice to get the 6 speed. It’s not as quick as the auto but a hell of allot more fun to drive. Thanks for checking out the video. Appreciate the support
I’ve had 4 Dodge Challengers (one with the 8-speed auto and three with the 6-speed manual) and the manual is way more fun to me. The manual also gives that awesome muscle car sound as you accelerate through the gears (that pause and shift sound). The auto is definitely fasters, but the manual is so much fun rowing through the gears. I added the skip-shift eliminator to two of my Scats, but with the Hellcat I just make sure I shift before 21mph or accelerate past 21mph before I shift. The Hellcat manual has such a long 1st gear (shifts at about 60mph @ redline) that I hardly ever get that 1st to 4th skip-shift because I usually shift from 1st to 2nd at about 40-45mph.
Nice man!! I agree with 100% of what you said. I had a 16 Charger with the 8 speed and 3.07 gears and would beat my 6 speed challenger without too much trouble but I LOVE driving the 6 speed so much better. 1st gear for me maxes out around 42/43 which is perfect if I am in like a 35 MPH zone. I just wind out first, get that muscle car roar and then drop it into a reasonable gear and cruise away. I love that pause in the sound like you mentioned too. I am thinking about getting the skip shift eliminator for sure. its cheap and cant understand why dodge would do that to someone who got a manual...
It’s really difficult unfortunately. We searched for a 6M with the shaker package and we could not find one within 500 miles. I had to order mine. Good luck man.
Yeah man. I did allot of bad habits for the first few days when I was not as comfortable driving it. I am back to rev matching down shifts, not riding the clutch while stoping and keeping it engaged. I was never really taught how to drive a manual so I got into some bad habits on my last one, researched and had to break allot of bad habits.
Great vid dude, that exhaust has a nice rumble to it. You’re gonna have fun with that car! How do you compare the active exhaust to the dynomax? Which is louder?
Thanks allot man. Appreciate it. The exhaust is great. I love it. More refined and more old school rumble. The Dynomax seems louder as a cold start but the active exhaust when you get on it a bit seems a little louder. Both are very comfortable when cruising and under a light load. I like the active exhaust better as a whole.
I have noticed that too now. I think at 60 you light only be doing 2000 RPMs. Now that I have been driving it a while I usually don’t even put it in 6th unless I am doing at least 60-65. Thanks man.
It’s all good man. Just the first time driving in over a decade. Once I stopped sweating bullets driving it I corrected most of my bad habits. Haha. Thanks for watching and the support.
The shaker bothers you that much? Didn't you check that out before you bought it?? Just drive the car ,and quit picking it apart. The shifter ,the shaker , If I would have had that many complaints before I bought it,I wouldn't have bought it ....
Camera ham.........Last time I shifted a manual trans was day before yesterday, and I'm 70 years old . Sir ,it doesn't matter how many years it's been between driving with a manual trans . That's something you never forget however , we all stall ,and have stalled a time ,or two now ,and then. Who cares ,but don't tell everybody lol.. Just drive the car. As a matter of fact I have a 2018 Challenger rt just like yours but in destroyer grey with a manual trans .bought new ,and has only 8600 miles on it . Mind you ,adult driven miles .Stay safe........
haha right!! the first couple days of parking and adjusting the car was a bit nerve racking. pretty much over that now though. I also learned the idle is strong enough to move the car with ease when parking without hitting the gas. that was a day 2 or 3 discovery.
We’ll see but I feel I’ll be super happy with it. This is probably my last opportunity to drive one so I am gonna relish it while I can for sure. I can see where you are coming from though. If you don’t want to drive a 6M it could be torture.

That would be killer to have something like that (69 Bee) in the 70s or the time those came out. So awesome man!!!
Bro that purple challenger at 1:50 😭 thats the dream , im lookin for a scat shaker in plum crazy with a 6 speed and god damn is it a hard task
Those are so incredible. The best combination (scat shaker). I hope you get one some day.
congrats on the new ride...great to see you enjoying it!
Thanks allot man. I am really digging the 6 speed manual and the challenger. Loving it. Thanks again.
wow crazy happy for you my friend!!!! very exciting congratulations! and of course im particularly fond of your octane red (my color). looks astonishing when its cleaned/waxed and at dusk it really pops. good luck!!
thanks so much man.. appreciate it a ton!!!there isnt a better color IMO. I love it so much. thanks for the well wishes!! I will enjoy every minute.
Sport mode also cuts out the shift lockout. Love the more responsive throttle and exhaust in Sport.
Omg me too. It’s the first thing I do once I start the car. I don’t like driving without sport mode being on. Like you said the throttle response is so much better with it on.
Pretty good for a 13 year dry spell lol, that’s such a sweet ride dude!
Thanks Man!!! really appreciate it!! was surprised how quick it all came back. thanks again man!!
lmao the opening scene is like a scene from the office...liked the video love the car.
I believe a Tazer Module will allow you to always start in Sport Mode.
Burnseys RT that’s sounds crazy... I hope there is a way to cancel it or avoid it
If reverse gear is so close to 5th gear is it possible anytime that we would shift wrong to reverse gear instead of 5th gear?
I am soooooo jealous!
Enjoy your ride
Thanks so much man. I am loving it no doubt. I enjoy driving it every day.
the tazer do not work on the 7'screen if you find a option . update thank
Very true. Made the wrong assumption. I believe the tazer will add more features in the EVIC but thats not as cool. Oh well. Thanks for making sure I knew.
@@BurnseysRT the guy from taser and said that the 7 cannot read their programming
You did a review on a product that had performance pages that product is hard to find if you can give the review on the challenger that be another option for us
My wife and I just ordered our 2021 Challenger R/T with the manual transmission.
Congratulations!!!! You will love it. Enjoy !!!
@@BurnseysRT Thanks! The plant where it's built is only 15miles from my place.
5:49 didn't you test drive?
I didn’t test drive this car. I had to order it. Just knew I wanted to get back into a manual so didn’t think it would matter. I was really dying to get back into a manual I would have adjusted to whatever at that point.
@@BurnseysRT well at least you drove the manual they had.
Nice vid and well delivered. 😎
Thank you Sir. Much appreciated. Thanks for the support and comment.
@@BurnseysRT NP and keep up the good work!
Thats the new 7'' screen without Navigation?
I believe so. yeah no Nav. nice little screen but no performance pages :( At least I have timers!!
@@BurnseysRT will you be able to get performance pages with the 7" even with the tazer?
Now that I think about it maybe not. But that’s OK.
Hey Guys. Holy Crap does Sport Mode liven up the challenger. It’s a completely different beast with it turned on. I didn’t hammer on it yet but the response and exhaust note is like on another planet with sport mode turned on. Wow.
@@BurnseysRT yep. Told you you would love the dark side
Congrats I'm glad you like it
Thanks so much man!! appreciate it a ton. Its going to be fun thats for sure.
ya boi isa back on the tube.
When I was a teenager learning to drive stick I was the worst at it! Fast forward to being a adult I drive a manual now and it’s easy as breathing I stall out in first a little but for the most part I absolutely love driving my car! I understand the feeling you don’t forget!!
Could be letting off the clutch too early. If I had a nickel for the times if stalled out in first or second gear🤣
Barton is where it is at. That and the pistol grip is the best
That’s what everyone keeps telling me. Appreciate it. Help convincing me to do it.
Beautiful car man, congratulations!
Thank you so much man!! appreciate it. I am loving it 100%
Hey, you're doing better with a manual than I would!
thanks man. i had allot practice when I was younger. drove a manual for the first 10 years of me driving a car. glad its paying off now.
@@BurnseysRT I need to get me a beater with a manual just for practice.
Also, I picked up my new-to-me 300 today.
Awesome congratulations again
Thanks so much. Super pumped. Thanks again.
I rested my hand on the shifter when I had manuals.
My 2019 scatpack had 1.6 miles on it when I took delivery of it.
That’s wild. I am afraid someone took it for a joy ride but maybe it was niles put on it while testing at the factory. Who knows.
Great video, thanks and you did pretty well for a long abstinence on the ""stick shift""
Take care!
The more you knock the shifter back and forth in neutral, the more you wear out the shifter bushings.
I appreciate you making sure I know that. That was mostly a nervous habit but it has gotten better over time. A couple others noticed and asked me why I did that too. Then I started catching myself. Thanks again. Appreciate it.
I have an auto scat pack and love it, but my next Challenger will be a manual
Haha. That’s funny. I love my 6M and I am going to be getting an auto Scatpack soon. Can’t go wrong. Do wish sometime I woulda got a Scatpack 6M and then I woulda had it all.
@@BurnseysRT I will be very, very interested to see how you compare the two!
What do you mean by taser to unlock the performance pages? Also, what do you mean by shift lock?
Gotta love the m6
Absolutely man!!! I miss driving one so much. did you ever switch out the stock shifter with a different one? The stock one is fine but i hear some of the others out there are far superior.
Go Barton shifter and I love it
FINALLY a comment section that’s not downing you for not getting a scat pack!, what’s your thoughts, are you happy with the hemi, no regrets?
Enjoy.

I've only driven a manual tractor before and I'm planning to get a manual R/T and I hope I don't do something stupid shifting w it or something haha.
I miss it.
How heavy is the clutch
The clutch is relatively heavy. I dont have allot to compare it to. Most of the manuals I have driven were 4 cylinder FWD cars and all of those were light as a feather. This on the other hand has a pretty good spring to it. I have not driven a manual for many years prior to my challenger but my left quad got quite the work out as it was sore for the first several days after starting to drive again. Now I am good to go.
Ok . I ask because i have back and hip problems surgery didn’t help. Didn’t know if I could drive it long time
What do they say not to ret your hand on the shifter? I sold my scat pack challenger to dealer for a great deal. I know the automatics are not quicker but that manual is nice! Liked & Subbed! 👋🏾
Thanks for the sub. I forget exactly but it was stated in the owners manual. I recently got a Charger scat pack otherwise I’d check the manual for you. I have had many manuals in the past and always tested my hand on it with zero issue but maybe it matters ???
When I don't drive manual for awhile and put it in neutral I shake the stick too haha.
Just to make sure I'm not in gear.
Haha. Totally. I always do that to avoid the embarrassing sudden jerk stall. Haha it ms become a habit now. Haha
You’re making me jealous I should’ve bought a standard at least one of the vehicles 😂😎👍
IMO, for a DD, the stock active exhaust is enough. It’s obnoxious with a straight pipe.
Rachelle B. I agree 100%. The 2017+ exhaust are great stock. I had 3 charger RTs before my challenger (2012,2014 and 2016) and they were church mouse quiet but these active exhausts are beautiful.
I haven’t drive manual for a while now after watching this video,I got a feeling I totally forgot how to drive stick shift!
@@daytona5.722 if you are a car salesman shouldn't it be required? Its like a banker that doesn't know how to count
@@dasllamas I agree.
Yeah guys this kid was a good 10-15 years younger than me. Totally agree it should be a requirement. If you are ever forced to need to do it you could mess up someone’s car.
You you did great driving the manual .
Thanks allot man. I guess once you’ve driven one it’s almost instinctual. It’s so nice being a week and a half in. I am enjoying it more and more now that I don’t have to concentrate so much and starting it off in first.
Didn't you drive a white one in 2018?
I test drove a white one back in 2018. Might be what you may have seen.
Is this the 5.7 or 6.4? I'm surprised with quiet it is. I love it that way. I see other youtube videos where the exhaust is blatingly obnoxious.
Hey man. I have the 5.7 with the stock exhaust. I love it. Perfect balance of daily driving and performance.
Did you trade the charger in?
Midwest Mopars Turned it in for another lease.
Yup yup.
That is a nice car man. Wish we had these in Europe.
Thanks so much. I appreciate it. I hear ya and that’s unfortunate.
i have a brand new tazer in the box never used it because i bought 2. if you want to buy it tell me i can give u lower than what they sell it.
Thanks. I’ll think about it and let you know. Appreciate the offer.
Put your hand on the shifter if you want to (I do).
How is the clutch?
The clutch is nice ImO. I want to eventually do a video on the clutch. It’s a stiff spring feel and stiffer than most manuals I have driven. After 13 years of not driving a manual And all of the sudden driving one. I will say my quad and legs were sore for the the first week I drove it. Now I love it. But most have been FWD and the clutch have been really light so I don’t have allot to compare it to.
What's gas mileage?
Right! No one buys a V8 for its gas mileage but honestly I have been averaging 18.5 per tank with a good mix of city and highway so I can’t complain.
Good luck.
Good video👍
Thank you so much man!!! its been a blast driving it so far. I had to get that first drive recorded to look back on in a few years.
Love standard Great car 😊👍
Thanks so much man!!! yeah i have been looking forward to driving a 6M again. Traffic has sucked lately but thats OK. cant wait to rip on it.
U did very well!
Thanks man. I appreciate it. It was a really long time but I guess in the end once you learn it never leaves you.
No excuses, just drive her like she's yours! Sounds good, but I'm sure she will get a change sooner or later. Lol.
haha!
This is the first time I’ve ever seen one of these going slow
A manual is the way to go!!!
Agree 100%. I wanted at least one more chance at driving a 6 speed manual Mopar. It’s been a blast driving it. Loving every minute.
How do I find a challenger rt in a manual when most nowadays are in automatic.?
It’s really difficult unfortunately. We searched for a 6M with the shaker package and we could not find one within 500 miles. I had to order mine. Good luck man.
@unarmed blackman why don't people not want manuals anymore?
Dam man! Get off that clutch, you kept it engaged unesseraly in the parking lot
I’ve never had a problem with the lockout thing. It never engages with me. The thing to do is CDV delete!!!! Trust me on that.
Thats good to hear it doesnt. I will look into the CDV delete for sure. Thanks for the suggestion
Fifth gear is fine on highway
I have noticed that too now. I think at 60 you light only be doing 2000 RPMs. Now that I have been driving it a while I usually don’t even put it in 6th unless I am doing at least 60-65. Thanks man.
I don’t put it in 6th unless I’m doing something over 85mph
Love mine
Now that you own a Challenger you need to let the polo shirt go bro
Lol. Good stuff man. Picked it up from work.
Would you stop shaking the damn gearstick in neutral🤣🤣🤣. Lol nice vid tho. I'm trying to get me a manual RT too. Tired of boring automatic.
Haha. All nerves there. I hear ya man. You’ll love a 6 speed man. Good luck and hope you get one.
he's wearing the clutch out lol
It’s all good man. Just the first time driving in over a decade. Once I stopped sweating bullets driving it I corrected most of my bad habits. Haha. Thanks for watching and the support.
The shaker bothers you that much? Didn't you check that out before you bought it?? Just drive the car ,and quit picking it apart. The shifter ,the shaker , If I would have had that many complaints before I bought it,I wouldn't have bought it ....
Is this the guy from sixth sense all grown up?
I See Dead People. Haha. That’s a good one. You are the first.
Once you learn how to ride a bike you never forget!🤣 well done brother 💪
Yeah I guess so huh! Thanks man. It’s awesome to be driving a manual again!!
Carefulll!!carefull....wait...stop!!! Lol
haha right!! the first couple days of parking and adjusting the car was a bit nerve racking. pretty much over that now though. I also learned the idle is strong enough to move the car with ease when parking without hitting the gas. that was a day 2 or 3 discovery.
Rules of the internet : usually when you say to “ please don’t do ___ “ usually trolls will want to do just that haha
My only comments: quit fucking with the stick, and quit short shifting/riding the clutch...
First drive of a new car and you start in reverse.lol
Right!?! First time I backed that up too. Trying not to stall, back into something etc. lots going on. Glad I made it outta there ok.
Please don’t comment mean stuff I’m a girl
Never . All are welcome. Most everyone who interacts on my channel are all really cool. Thanks for stopping by.
You’re going to wish you hadn’t got a manual.
We’ll see but I feel I’ll be super happy with it. This is probably my last opportunity to drive one so I am gonna relish it while I can for sure. I can see where you are coming from though. If you don’t want to drive a 6M it could be torture.
Burnseys RT How is that going to handle in the snow?
We will find out : ) will have dedicated snows but the weight distributin is pretty good so it should be OK. it has 7" front clearance which is nice!
Lmao
Doosh....😂😂😂
Haha. Appreciate the comment and supporting the channel. Good Day Sir.
