It seems I made a mistake in my review, numerous people have told me Android Auto and Apple Car Play are standard on the 2019 Challengers. I used Dodge's website while researching the car before I filmed my review and it indicated you needed the upgraded 8.4" touchscreen to get these features, but I may have misunderstood. I did plug my iPhone into the car I tested and got nothing, I did not try an Android. However, I may have missed some step needed to hookup Apple CarPlay to UConnect, with every other car I've ever plugged into it's just popped right up. If this was an error on my part I do apologize.
@@CarDietrich It has actually been standard since 2017. I believe you need bluetooth turned on, plus there is a step or two to sync the phone up. I know when I use Android Auto my phones bluetooth automatically becomes active. Bluetooth is to pair the phone and the plugging in part allows the Android Auto or Apple CarPlay in your case to be projected onto the screen. I think what is causing a spike in Challenger sales and drop in Mustang and Camaro sales is two fold. First, the Challenger offers practicality not offered by either the Mustang or the Camaro. Second, the Challenger offers a driving experience that is unique when compared to the Mustang and Camaro. The trunk is HUGE when compared to the competition and it drives like a Muscle Car whereas the other two drive like Sports Cars now. @@deplorable7575 Well I drove to Albuquerque from El Paso back in August 2021 which is about a 4 hour to 4 and a half hour drive between the two cities. FIVE POINT SEVEN SECONDS??? That test is a crazy outlier, plus its on a 2018, mine is a 2017 so its faster because it has fog lights. Since 2004 the powertrain in the WRX STI has not changed much at all, and the 0-60 times I've seen in magazines are anywhere for 4.6 to 5.2 seconds. 5.7 is what Road & Track clocked the original 2002 bugeye WRX at with 227 horsepower. One thing about the STI that screws up 0-60 times is that you have to shift from second to third to hit 60 in the car. If the gearing allowed 60 MPH to be obtained in second (as the standard WRX does), the 0-60 time would be in the low to mid 4's max. The result of this is that the STI ends up feeling a little faster than its 0-60 times would indicate. A fourth gear pull on the highway is particularly strong, and this is where it keeps pace or even feels slightly faster than the Challenger.
@@CarDietrich That's why initially, I was like there is no way a sti can beat a RT with a 5.7 0-60 lol. If it runs in the 4's well then it definitely is quicker. That's crazy!

It was charging but no CarPlay, and my iphone hooks right up to apple carplay on all other cars. Maybe they took it out of the 2019 models? This is a terrible review, I like your videos but this wasn’t it. UMMM SIR That’s a regular 5.7 not a 392 please don’t compare with GT
Dis dude actually compared the rt challenger to a ss camaro lol
You and I reviewed it about the same. Check out my review on my channel if you get a chance.
I'll check it out thanks for watching!
12:22 lmfao
Needs better colors. At least how the dealers order them where I live. Mostly white, black or gray/silver. Boring.
Unfortunately the boring colors are what most people buy! I wish new cars came in better colors too but the more interesting ones don't sell as well
@@CarDietrich If the dealers don't stock them, they won't sell. It's the what came first, the chicken or the egg. For instance, if I wanted a RT in white, I could have one for a great price. It's a boring color and it didn't sell. It's a 2019. I don't want white or black or gray/silver. Anyway, I think they would sell colors other than the boring ones.
Just got sublime green, Glad they brought that color back!
@@crystal338 I ended up buying a low mileage 2020 Challenger RT Scat Pack 1320 in hellraisin in feb of 2022. I like plum crazy purple, but I couldn't find one and the 1320 came up and I couldn't pass it up. Sublime is pretty cool.
@@nokoolaid Thats cool, I almost bought a scat pack too! Sublime green, but it had so many owners and I am finding many of them have been beat on so I was afraid and bought a new Rt. One had the axle and drive shaft replaced after 2 years! I hope you got it check out. I am kinda sad I don’t have a bee on mine
This is a terrible review, I like your videos but this wasn’t it. You are comparing and judging the challenger on a low model, you don’t have to pay 3,000 either to get a bigger screen and I usually wouldn’t be this hard but making these videos your changing all the viewers opinion on this car. You can get a better screen separately, and this car is the 3rd lowest trim level. What do you expect from the power, compare it to a scat pack because then the comparison is equal to a 400hp mustang or some trash car like that, Educate yourself before making reviews and possibly changing others opinions.
I did do my research. The 8.4 inch UConnect screen requires the addition of the Plus package, if you want to check my work go to dodge dot com, they will still let you build a 2019 Challenger, when you select the 8.4 inch screen on the R/T it adds that package in. It's a $3,000 option. That's how I did my research. Thanks for watching.
hardworkrr12 on cars I can build a 2019 Dodge Challenger right now and it let’s you do 8.4 inch touchscreen without the plus. My cousin even has a 2019 with a 8.4 he doesn’t have a plus he has a blacktop which shows even more you don’t need it cause you can’t have blacktop with plus and blacktop doesn’t come with 8.4 so whatchu saying my guy
hardworkrr12.car.blog/2020/04/14/2019-challenger-buildout/
hardworkrr12 on cars explain how my cousin has a 2019 challenger rt with a blacktop and a 8.4inch touchscreen without plus package
I cannot explain that. Just showing you where I got my info from and that I do my research for my videos.
"I did it ON accident" ummm, what? Do you mean "by" accident?
That was an accident.
OH LORD HELP ME!!!!!! THIS VIDEO IS PAINFUL....
The man why?
@@IguanaPR He provides WRONG INFO
What info is bad?
He really tried to say BHP isn’t WHP😂🤦🏼♂️ I think he meant crank horsepower, seems like he’s not a fan of the challenger and is trying to make it seem not as good as it is, last I checked dodge generally has the most power and most weight and it goes down the line to Chevy and then ford with the lightest and lowest power.
