This is the one that I couldn't believe wasn't at least a special mention! I also have 2 of them! Theres also the 1990 football card of Brian Bosworth where the team name was different than all the others in the set? And I can't remember the players name at this moment, (edited 1-4-22 :Fred Marion was the players name) but there was a "dong card" in football too where it was actually the end of his belt flapping out in the picture...lmao

I collected sports cards in the late 80s and early 90s like many people my age. I haven't bought a sports card or pack in about 30 years. I do enjoy trading card games (Magic the Gathering, etc.), so UA-cam sometimes recommends sports card channels to me. Occasionally I'll click on one from time to time if it piques my interest. This time I'm glad I did. The subject is interesting, but more importantly I love the energy and enthusiasm of the presenter! That passion and charisma isn't something that can be taught.

Fun video, collected these errors back in the day, Fleer and the others did some of these on purpose to drive up demand. There are many more (Keith Comstock White letters), also blank backs were in packs. The Thomas and Dale Murphy were big but nothing like the Billy Ripken. When that error hit the national news those packs tripled in price immediately. They went from 75 cents to $3 a pack at my LCS that day. Thanks, Tony

The 1990 Donruss Juan Gonzalez rookie card reverse negative.....with the Ripken FF card, the scramble to correct it with black box, black scribble and the white out scribble made it iconic. The white scribble is more valuable than the FF card. The 1989 Fleer Randy Johnson with the Marlboro sign over his shoulder.......1981 Fleer Fernand Valenzuela instead of Fernando.

My favorite errors/variations are the 1974 Topps Washington Nationals cards. From what I recall, the San Diego Padres were considering a move, but it fell through after the Washington cards were printed and released. I collected the entire 660 card set and had several of the Wash Nat cards, but sold the entire set (with the errors) in 1992.

Great list! I remember buying the '95 Topps Traded Carlos Beltran RC (before the whole Astros cheating scandal) and wondering if I was tripping out because it was definitely not Beltran on the card. I ended up also buying the Juan Lebron from the same set since it's Beltran's picture on that card. I consider that pair as a single rookie card. I also got a kick out of the 1985 Donruss Seaver error card as well. My favorite is the Billy Ripken FF card.

Manufacturers learned from the Error cards of the 80s. Error cards where the original short print. So they added the chase card to the hobby as a staple, replacing the error card. Also card editors now have computers to spot check all the work. Still happens. But if you look at sets like Heritage they remove names and create the variation out of the gate. Some minor errors still get through.

Claude Raymond, in 1966 and 1967, had Topps cards with his fly open--and the 1969 Aurelio Rodriguez card has the picture of the Angels' batboy instead of Aurelio!

I just bought the Raw FF card, not a bad deal. Glad it made the list. Ripkin for the win.

Outstanding presentation! I have a USA Basketball card with Alonzo Mourning on one side and Steve Smith on the other. Any Idea of what it might be worth?

I always think of the Al Leiter reversed negative card when I think of error cards growing up. (And of course, Billy Ripken)

the 1958 Topps Hank Aaron #30 Robin's egg blue background. There are roughly 10-15 copies known. It is missing the yellow in the print run and very striking.

That one is just sun faded unfortunately I did a video on my channel how easy they are to make with a 500 watt light, here’s a 1958 mantle error I found that’s quite rare

I have the Gary Sheffield SS Upside down card. My Uncle had 4 Cal Ripken FF cards (we sold cards when I was little) then he felt it was distasteful and never put them back out into circulation. He may have at some point but that was back in the 90's

I have the 1981 Fleer Al Hrabosky 5'1" card, and two of the 2002 Topps Albert Pujols cards with the wrong person pictured on the back.
