There's Good ole Eddie, guess what... Never heard of you! Sorry Eddie
Whoa Dude! What's up with you?
Oh hey guys! I'm a mean son of a gun! Aye Man! You got some tequila holmes! Aye! Pass me the wire cutters Ese!
If you know you know!
Ricky Schroeder? I think his brother is from Silver Spoons?
Word for word! The winner of the best comment award! Good ol' Franklin Stubbs...I bet ya he had a stub on his toe.
@@thepastisalive it literally auto played right after last night's video and I started dying laughing!!
@@burno7799oh man, that is glorious!
The babe Ruth picture is from a very well-known impersonator that I actually met with my dad at a bar in 1997. He was retiring at the time and living in Oberlin, Ohio, at the time if I remember correctly. We gave him a ride home and went into his house, where he gave us a few signed photos similar to the one you had. I might still have mine somewhere.
WOW!! What an Amazing Collection you've purchased here as indeed its Priceless especially the scrapbooks.
The fact they carefully mounted the cards with corner thingys is pretty nifty outside the box thinking. Just sheer geniousness in my opinion. Any way hard to really choose a particular favorite but definitely gotta say the last year Mantle Card(s) AND got a helluva chuckle outta the Babe Ruth photo inscription!! Great Video man 😃
Thanks Pauly! I’m excited to go through each box and see what else may be hiding out in there!
@@thepastisalive Look forward to this new "series" you likely will end up maki g it out of; even if you do it in a "Live Stream" 😃
Go through every box on a video and I for one will watch every video. This is what makes this hobby fun, Jon. It's Christmas and a birthday rolled into one. Tons of fun sitting right there. Great haul. Thanks for sharing it.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching. Excited to go through each box and see what’s hiding inside.
Could tell this was a tad overwhelming! As I would have been!!! Those scrapbooks are RAD AF!!!! I’d legit watch you pour through THIS Particular collection nearly all the way through. So many 88 Donruss make super skeptical to say that- But considering how interesting that 9mins was, I’m salivating on what might be tucked in between an 88 D Gregg Jeffries and Ken Phelps 89 UD! 🤣
😂 absolutely! We will have the time of our lives sifting through all these boxes here coming up soon!
I know a lot of people don’t, but I love the 1974 Topps set, love that Munson find!! Gonna be a blast going through it all!!
Oh man thats a wet dream right there. We are in for a treat TPIAers!!!
Those scrapbooks are priceless.
I bet it a lot of fun going through collections. I hope to purchase one some day.
The 69 Mantle and 70 Ryan was worth the trip!
Wow what a haul! You totally need to make a series of videos going through this gold. Savor this like a fine cup of Baja blast. I'm excited!
I definitely will and I hope you will be there to see what may be stashed away in those boxes!
Wow!! A really nice haul you bought here and it will be time consuming to go through completely, but I can only imagine how much fun that you are going to have doing just that!!
Wow, this looks like a collection of a true collector. Those scrap books are pretty amazing. Nice find, Jon!
Thanks Will! Excited to begin going through and see what cards may be tucked away inside.
Super sick pickup!! I love all the vintage and those scrapbooks are priceless. I’d spend hours reading the articles. Great stuff John
Thanks man! The scrapbooks are so cool!
Bound to be a few Kevin Bass , of course in many pants. The scrape books are F'in awesome , Maybe you'll let us scrounge around thos boxes with you, we can only hope.
Absolutely! I hope you will join me as we wade through it all box by box.
Oh yes! The scrapbooks are so interesting!! My Dad has collected newspaper clippings from sports events for all of his life. Such a cool presentation in such a scrapbook. Like re-living the events of the past!! Or for a youngster who was not around to see it then! Great find!
wow lucky!! love it especially the football!! have fun going thru it!
Those scrapbooks with cards are absolutely awesome!! 😮
Looks like a great find, similar to a collection I bought late last year that I'm still going through. Lots of junk wax in mine too, but I found '83 OPC rookies of Tony Gwynn and Ryne Sandberg this week. Some vintage from the 50s-70s, but no Mantles or early Ryans yet. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Awesome! I couldn’t tell you the last time I came across OPC Gwynn and and Sandberg rookies. Nice pickup!
Wow ! Amazing pickup of someone who really loved the game ... as Babe Ruth famously said... "Heroes get remembered, but Legends never die"
I'm obsessed with ephemera, so the real find here for me are those scrapbooks. Great pickup, the kind of thing you must daydream about when you get this type of phone call.
Good for you! I look forward to you breaking this haul down, love the scrapbooks!
You found a Time Machine with those scrapbooks. Incredible find! Would be interested in buying a lot of Hofers pre-1975.
scrap books are awesome. put together by someone that was very vested in doing them. the collection itself looks great. wish i could find people around here that are selling collections like that
Wow! can only describe this. Can't wait to see all the gems that you pull out of this bulbous collection.
Woah Nice Mantle and Ryan!
That Nolan, the 70, made me say wow out loud. Hope some can make it to the auctions!
Ho hum just Mantles laying around....Jeebus. This is gonna be epic! So jelly!
69 Topps Mantle is my favorite card of all time, amazing pickup Jon
Thanks Pat! Was shocked to see a second one inside the one scrapbook!
@@thepastisalive it's a hell of a pickup, whatever you paid for that is more than worth it
Wow. This is hours of fun. Looking forward to seeing what is in those boxes.
This collection is awesome! I love the scrapbooks. I don’t think I could break them up. His father-in-law seemed very passionate about baseball. Can’t wait to see you go through it.
Thanks Kevin! Definitely treasuring the scrapbooks and keeping them in my collection.
Looking forward to see the follow-up content to this
Id of never guessed one day that my hearts content would be seeing a dude sift through junk wax or better on a phone, but lifes full of surprises
Love th 1986 Bambino words of encouragement. He wasnt signing much that year😅
😂 Babe signature takes the cake!
Glad to have you here! Thank you for watching.
Incredible, absolutely my favorite thing to do, never picked up a collection as interesting as this one though!
What a great find so much randomness but those scrap books wow what a lot of time spent on putting them together wonderful find
They are awesome! Definitely keeping those safe.
That was a nice find. Looking forward to watching the unearthing.
Awesome! I am looking forward to the future videos.
Very cool have fun with this.
Great looking collection Jon. Cool scrap books. Really cool 😎
Thanks Johnathan!
Looking forward to seeing what's in this collection! Really hoping for a 1990 Topps Frank Thomas NNOF, or some other popular error cards of the time.
If I’m going to find it, it would be in something like this!
Can't wait to see what surprises show up. Man, what a find!
Thanks Bryan! Excited to see what’s inside of all those boxes!
Those "brackets" are actually called photo corners and were used in scrapbooking all the way up into the early 2000s. Those were used so you wouldn't have to tape or glue your photographs (or in this case cards) to the album. So hopefully they aren't glued down but could still be tricky to remove without damage. Great haul! Great video!
Thanks for the heads up on those! It doesn’t seem like they are glued in but we will take a closer look soon! Thanks for watching!
Those scrapbooks are pretty epic. Cant wait to see you NOT SAVAGELY rip through all of this. Have an awesome weekend.
Thanks Steve, same to you! Can’t wait to manhandle our way through each one of these boxes!
Outstanding pickup. Love those Nolan's
I am so jealous. I so badly want to find a collection like this to purchase and go through for my own personal collection. You hit a grand slam with this one.
Same. My finds are sad.
Those are the collections I love.to go through! Great stuff Jon!
Thanks Warren! Excited to see what I can find in all those boxes!
Def do them in parts. The metal box. Then the 2 tandom boxes. Then maybe 1 5000 count every week
Love it Jon. I buy a collection every few months, but have not had the luck of finding 70 & 71 Ryan's or two 69 Mantles! Great score. I smell a Dale Murphy reverse negative hanging out in there.
Thanks man! I could definitely see a RevNeg Murphy lurking inside! That would be awesome.
You should definitely do a box or two in a few livestreams! It's lots of fun to watch and see what is pulled.
Absolutely, that will be the plan!
Good luck, hopefully you find some good stuff in that collection 👍
Thanks Andrew!
Score! Good for you. Take that Mantle out and grade that. It looks sharp af
You know I'm freaking out about all the Pete Rose in this!!!!
Great find, I would love to see you go through each box
Thanks Andrew! I plan on going through one box at a time with you guys.
Great pickup Jon! That Mantle would have made me say yes
Thanks Bryan!
Dang some good stuff. Should be fun to go through
I can’t wait to see the collection. I vote for live streams!!
Thanks Mikey! Livestreams it is!
Wow, John did all this stock come from one guy? you got the mother load !!! good luck with finding theNNOF!!
Yep, it was all from the same person!
Nice find

Hey. Jabs. I'm alway love your. Channel and. Love what you do for channel
Thank you Aaron!
Let the squash buckling begin
I need to know if those cards are glued!
They don’t appear to be but we will give them a closer look together soon.
"Photo Corners" are the fasteners you are asking about.
Nice!! 😊
I see the Mick !
man, epic pickup
Please make a separate video on the binders
Damn, Jon what a nice pick up bro
Thanks Doug!
Definitely falls under the "you never know" category
I think you should do a series
I really like that collection. If you’re in New York I’ll come over and help you out with that collection, send me an invite love this stuff, demy
I’m in PA so probably at least six hours from you but I appreciate the offer!
Near Elmira upstate and retired
Probably paid all of it....2packs of smokes and a 6pack
90 Score Football 😍
If you don’t mind sharing, would love to know what you paid for this. Awesome collection buy!
I don’t disclose pricing anymore these days because it only ends up in arguments. Sorry. I gave the guy $100 more than his asking price which I personally felt was fair. Thank you for watching!
@@thepastisalive I get ya, I can see it being a fine line. Great buy nonetheless!
The newspaper articles are really a cool edition to the card collecting. It’s to bad they are all glued into the pages. I collect similar news articles but keep them in original condition in magazine top loaders with a cardstock divider…..allowing for one top loader or be two pages. The articles make the history of the trading cards come alive with stories beyond what the cards themselves have written on them. Unlike how the trading cards are ‘fitted’ into the photo albums, today I put the cards in top loaders first and then tape the top loader onto the cardstock.
I guess I’d suggest you read all the articles first. Pick the best and most interesting ones, then cut those good ones out keeping the page backing intact. You can then rebuild a more up to date binder with both cards, articles, tickets and any other items that might the binder almost into a ‘book’ of sorts. I do this with all my cards. A binder display with lots of stories to tell and cards to look at. Personally, I think the newspaper articles enhance your PC if you build all into binders….which, by the way, you can find spare binders for pennies on the dollar at thrift stores. It’s the best way to organize and display your PC.
Very interesting, thank you for sharing!
Wooooow!
10k for the babe Ruth lol
Just a heads up the guy in Shippensburg at red rocker antiques and retro is taking out all his cards sorry to give you the bad news. But I did give you a heads up.
First!!! Awesome job as always Sir!!
Thanks Brent!
I am looking forward to going through this with you
Greatest babe Ruth auto haha
😂 agreed!
That might have been from a famous Ruth impersonator me and my Dad ran into him in a bar back in 1997 in OberlinOhio. He looks just like Babe Ruth. I remember we went to his house and he gave us some autograph photos similar to that one. I might still have mine. A famous Johnny Cash impersonator also lives in Oberlin as well.
Jon, do you collect graded cards for your PC?
I do but not all too many.
the bottom of the “owens” box
Give up on your dream of owning a card shop.. and become a baseball announcer. Or a radio dj.
The older cards were probably from a relative I bet.
Another for the algorithm!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What did you pay for this haul?
Man i think you're down playing that collection cause you got it on the cheap which i understand .
I wasn’t trying to. 95% of it is 80’s/90s cards. I actually gave the guy an extra $100 more than his asking price.
@@thepastisalive Nah I'm not hating. I just think that's a pretty amazing find. I'm more excited for it than you seem to be.lmao. I hope you did get it cheap that's exciting and what this shit is all about. Amazing finds for amazing deals. Never feel guilty for that.
What do you want for everything? Nothing excluded? Vintage only, pre 1977
1st!
Looks like an interesting collection... those scrapbooks are perfect just the way they are. Please leave them as is a look into baseball history with many fascinating tidbits.
The junk wax is what it is but the other stuff should be fun peeking through...
Thank you for the video ✌️🙂
