My G29 is still alive. Its 11 years old. Had to be one of the first ones sold. Had a part about 6 years in to tighten the screw. Columns getting a little wobbly now. Micro Center is about to open here, and I plan on walking out with an upgrade under my arm

Good choice. I have the ddpro and I have no regrets. It was worth the wait!
Most important part is the brake so should probably be the 1st upgrade to get that loadcell... Fanatec has issues but if you don't have to deal with customer support it's really one of few console options.
Since I live in Canada, it's cheaper and quicker to order Moza through companies here. The price.might be $100 or so higher, but it's the savings on shipping and border fees.
Maybe not the case anymore. I'm from Canada also (Montreal), It took 4-5 weeks to get my bundle in the past but since last month, I ordered the Fanatec Shifter and a new wheel from the official website. It took only 4 days to get to my house. Product was shipped from Texas US with FedEx. It looks like they now have a new warehouse there for US/Canada customer. I was very surprised I didn't have to pay anything else (taxes & duties) at reception. Hopefully, things will turn up better with Fanatec (Corsair) since I have so many Fanatec gear...

Have they fixed it where the USB connection within the shaft doesn't slip out? Happened to me in just 3 days of ownership last year, and it was a royal pain in the arse to get a refund from their shoddy customer service. If the design flaw hasn't been addressed by Fanatec, your best bet is to try to avoid applying any pull pressure. Or replacing the clamp with a better one if you run into this common issue. There are several videos that cover this fix and recommend good replacement collar/clamps.
(edit) just watched the rest of your video. The intermittent dropping of FFB could be related -- The crappy standard USB-C connection in the shaft might be losing contact for a second. Next step is likely a permanent disconnect until you take clamp off and re-seat it.
Good luck with fanatec if something happens to your wheel or base you may aswell through it in the bin unless you can fix it yourself cos fanatec won't fix it I'm still waiting to get stuff back and that was 8 months ago😡 so fuck them assholes, cheers mate
I ordered myself the Fanatec DD Pro aswell today to replace my Thrustmaster T150RS Pro Wheel. This is going to be a nice Upgrade :D

went from a G29 to the CSL DD (5nm) its a night and day difference especially the noise it makes or rather doesnt

Also for clicking sound try messing with the microphone input settings to reduce loud clicks/noises from picking up if you are using OBS

Dude step your game up, your critiquing entry level hardware, at that price point (csl dd/gt dd pro) your expectations are too high, still a big leap from a g29, looks like you got more $$ invested in everything else but your wheel/base/and pedals
Im in the same position, i need to upgrade my setup and unfortunately fanatec is the way to go
Congrats, document and let us know the performance differences. I got new life in my g29 by modding the brakes trying various mods. The modding was the entertaining part
note: You will have to buy the new Quick Release 2 for the whell base and the rim.

It was either this or sticking with the G29 for the next x amount of months/years. The Logi G Pro wasn't an option for the lack of options and price and Moza wasn't an option for lack of PS5 support. It's unfortunate but I hope there's more competition in the space soon, or Fanatec gets their shit together

@@johnwilson132 Price wasn't that much of a concern for me with Moza. I really like their pricing and products (never used them but I've been looking a lot), but the lack of official PS5 support means you would need to use an adapter for it on GT7 and it runs the risk of being permanently locked out through an update even with said adapter

Just an fyi. You should have gotten the loadcell brake and used the existing brake as the clutch.
I tried the loadcell before and hated it, and the current brake wouldn’t make for a good clutch

I think they're partially joking. The whole stigma behind this is Fanatec is a terrible company but unfortunately it made the most sense for me to still go with it even if I am going to be producing content that showcases it
