In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
Greg saying "thats not a secret, im very proud of him." was one of the most threatening and chilling things ive ever heard. Perfect

I guess it was totally at odds with the persona put across on the show. But he's a canny lad ( love the father - son relationship with Frankie!
I'm so glad that we still got to see it because wow, that might have been Ivos greatest line in the whole series. :D

I haven't laughed this hard since series 12. This group is definitely in my top 5 favorite TM casts.

reminds me of that one time Joe Thomas lost it in the most tame way possible
The chemistry of this group is so great. Even when they're legitimately arguing, rather than getting annoyed I want to hear them continue. They feel like a semi-dysfunctional family.
Also I am in love with Mae.
I love Mae and Greg just continuing to talk about the puppet as the others complain

The bit where it cuts to Ivo, with his head in his hands, followed by a brief pause, before Frankie slowly turns towards him, and says “You just couldn’t shut the fuck up, could you Ivo”, is pure comedy gold; the comic timing is the very the personification of perfection- like something you might see in some classic sitcom.
This was an amazing series, with a seriously fantastic cast.
Frankie and Ivo really did have a classic sitcom vibe going on a lot of the time
Kiell coming in with the reparations argument sent me over the edge 😂😂😂

I think Greg Davies, outside of his role as the Taskmaster, actually has the exact sense of humour as Mae Martin. They can probably just banter, bouncing sentences ad absurdum.
This whole cast was ready to fight each other at all times and I love it 😂
I would never in a million years have suggested that Frankie would be the calm, rational arguer.
@@Hexen_Wulf Have you seen his New World Order show? His more tranquil, less aggressive nature reminds me of his presentation there. That show also has quite a few more honest moments where he drops his more angry stage persona, and I notice that most of the comedians when they come on Taskmaster tend not to play their stage persona, so it doesn't surprise me that he was calmer here.
@@Gildedmuse Well he didn't mention Prince Andrew once, which, while probably for the best, disappointed me.
@@Hexen_Wulf I think you might not know him too well. Here he doesn't have to play a persona, he's just being him. In his standups and elsewhere he usually is completely different.
PVP was enabled at all times, they didn't just want to win, they wanted everyone else to lose 😭

WHY DID THEY CUT IT?
because it undermines the authority of the Taskmaster
Sadly, because the amount of additional banter time required to lead up to that joke being as awesome as it was would be too much. Even an extra 30 or 40 seconds would require taking that time out somewhere else and, for that episode, where else could you pull from?
So that it would end up on the "editor's floor" and make the joke 10x truer and 10x funnier?
Seriously, the best jokes from this seasons were in the outtakes

Yes, he was the new Ed Gamble. I generally don't like these type of people, on the other side, I admit the variety of the cast needs a "competition over anything" personality. It would be boring with 5 gentlepeople.

Ed puts on a show. Kiell was genuinely annoyed but his timing on how he conveys his annoyance is great comedy

"Because of the nature of language, man!" Is one of the best lines of any season. Period!
I absolutely loved this group. Just seeing how much they riffed off each other in these outtakes shows how well they all worked together.
They might have been the most competitive cast they have had so far. The longer the season went on the funnier it became.
This was probrolly one of the best seasons. A wonderful cast with wonderful complementary chemistry.
There are fans who love the show for the cats and their chemistry. I fell in love with TM because of the tasks. If they meet the right cast, that's just a bonus. E.g. See how the "Eat the Grape" is almost half entertaining without David Correos, or how "Score 11 points" were ruined by a glasses man. But the tasks are still brilliant.
This series' tasks were mediocre to my taste. And the great cast couldn't really elevate it. The camera crew and the editing was 100% as always, though. Mae finding the extra pineapples was a brilliant moment and well delivered to the screen.
It was actually the worst season thus far

Genuinely heartbroken that not everyone who's seen the episode has seen that
My dad and i never liked the same things then taskmaster started. Every week. Without fail, we would sit and watch it together. When he was seriously ill with leukaemia, i recorded them for him to watch with me when he was better, and thats just what we did. 4 years on, he got secondary cancer and was always tired. He couldn't keep his eyes open for more than 2 mins. Although i continued recording them, it became clear he would never watch them again. His leukaemia came back and he got sepsis and died. I deleted all the recordings so ive missed a lot but im really enjoying what you put out on youtube and im hoping to start watching the ones on TV
May he rest in peace . I hope you feel better my friend . 🙏

I'm so sorry for your loss. My own dad and I used to watch Jeopardy together every weekday (when Alex Trebek hosted), and it was one of the very few common interests we shared before he passed.
If you haven't yet watched Greg Davies' stand-up special You Magnificent Beast, it ends with a very funny and touching tribute to his own father who passed after a long illness❤

What a comeback.
Always a brilliant show but this line up was close to perfect. Frankie and Ivo evolved into a wonderful double act, Kiell was sublime as he challenged everything, Jenny was as you would expect - daft as a brush but trying so hard. I was not aware of Mae before this but they are really good - funny and competitive.
I wish they would post videos of the show uncut. I would love to see all the behind the scenes stuff.

Yet another brilliantly curated group of people! The newly discovered treasures of the season for me were Jenny Eclair and Frankie. They just made me howl over and over again !

Frankie just might be my favorite contestant out of all 15 series
Watching the extended argument makes me wonder if Jenny would have won the jelly task if she'd just found a container that made contact with the jelly.

I was thinking that if a contestant just placed their hand on the jelly, would that count? Because they weigh however much they way, and they are on top of (and on) the jelly. Nowhere does it say that the jelly has to support the full weight of what's on top of it, so I wonder if that would be an accepted workaround or if Alex and the crew would object and insist on doing the task in the spirit of the instructions.

They don’t so they can recycle them.
They usually don't so they can reuse them later on, but they have released one a few months ago of three different series casts doing a tie-break and it is very interesting and weird seeing all of them do the same task
The casting team did a wonderful job with this cast.
We need Taskmaster XL extended / uncut episodes on the C4 streaming service which includes all these outtakes.

Even more so now that he’ll be appearing instead of Mae in CoC. It’s a shame we won’t get to see more of Mae’s super competitiveness but there’s no bad options from this cast. 😎
This whole series, I thought Mae was just this innocent and gleeful person who never once made a sexual joke or even acknowledged innuendos

You know, like they did with 8 out of 10 Cats when they released a normal 30 min version and later that week a 50 min one
trust me I do as well, but it's A LOT harder to do with something like TM than more traditional panel shows like 8oo10C or QI. there's a great interview with lead editor Rebecca Bowker elsewhere on youtube, and one of the many things talked about is that kind of distinction.

Such a fun series, really wanted Ivo to win it all in the end, love his sense of humour and him n Frankie were brilliant as a team. They were all excellent though to be fair!

We need fully unedited studio fights! Its so fun
Such a perfect cast. Most seasons it feels like there is 1-2 people who are not adding as much as the rest, but every contestant this season really added to the show. I particularly loved Mae and Frankie (because i already knew and liked their work beforehand), however all the contestants were brilliant and the dynamics were great
it's so funny to me that the pineapple argument would've been over as soon as someone said "they drew the pineapples, they didn't fetch it" instead they gave us a gem
Please go from series 1 and have Taskmaster XL with all the outtakes still in, could be 2 hours per episode and would watch it repeatedly.
One of my favourite things about when they release outtakes is that when you're watching the show it all makes sense, but out of context everything sounds like absolute nonsense - and I think that's delightful (context, I'm up to the pineapple/banana debate)
