Having Frankie on the show was amazing. His insults, jokes, the fact he didn't care at all whether he did well or not, all made his appearance the best anyone has had on the show. Also, hats off to Alex and Greg and other producers for having him on and not restraining him in any way. In fact, he seemed to have had a great rapport with Greg and Alex and it was a joy watching Greg laugh out loud at Frankie's jokes.
He was fantastic. I don't think he is the best, because everytime I settle on a favourite, I start remembering the other greats... Rhod in this particular instance.
Doesn't Susie Dent say if it should be "me, over in thicko corner" then it should also be "me and Jenny, over in thicko corner?" since you wouldn't say "I, over in thicko corner"? At least that's what I recall from the Something Rhymes with Purple podcast, unless I'm mistaken.
@@TassieLorenzoyeah you take out the connective and the other subject (so here, “and jennie”) and if what’s left is grammatically correct it’s the right one (me over in thicko corner, not I over in thicko corner). Ivo was right 😭
Poor Ivo got lit the hell up this season and I was loving every second. The photo of him having a breakdown in the “shed” (caravan) was my phone background for some time.
Nah, Ive watched Taskmaster from the start and this season is the worst. Really scraping the barrel for 'celebrities'. I only recognise one of them but didnt know their name. I'm applying for next season.
oh I loved all this cast, but then again that's one of the amazing things about TM, you kinda end up loving almost all of them by the end. My therapist says its called 'Trauma bonding'
You'd have to make it a proper sentence first. The most likely interpretation would be "Jenny and me are over in thicko corner" which would be wrong because you wouldn't say "me am over in thicko corner".
@@senhowler You're right that it's "Jenny and I," but that wasn't his planned sentence. He was interrupted mid-sentence, but it was clear it was going to be something like, "Me and Jenny, over in thicko corner, could not provide an answer as to why there were five eggs," since it was a revision of his previous statement. Still should be "Jenny and I," though since they're still the subject of the sentence, not an object.
Most seasons it's 5 comedians, but I feel like this one was 4 comedians and Mae Martin, she also NEVER laughs at anything, just a chuckle here and there
When you look at the overall dynamic, it was good to have very different people, Frankie who just didn't give a shit, Ivo who was polite but incompetent, Jenny who was just very happy to be there and have fun, Kiell who was a maverick and Mae who was a tryhard, and them all being different complemented each other well. Looking at the contestants individually though, I agree that Mae is as bland as a white sheet of paper.
I'm pretty sure "Jenny and I" would be wrong. If you remove the other person's name from the sentence it's easier to tell, and "I, in thicko corner" wouldn't work.
Isn't it standard grammer to list others' names first? It's just we ignore it usually. Regardless, "and I, over in thicko corner.." works, its just not very modern. I think so anyway..
@@CrashSable We do know what it would have been though. He was revising his previous statement after Alex corrected him about who figured out why there were five eggs. The final, /correct/ version would have been, "Jenny and I, over in thicko corner, could not guess why there were five eggs."
I is the subject, me is the object. It would be "I am in thicko corner" or "In thicko corner is me" It's just how grammar works. "in thicko corner" is merely a prepositional phrase. The complete sentence would be more like "I, in thicko corner, didn't understand." "I didn't understand" being the actual sentence and "in thicko corner" being nothing more than a descriptive phrase.

Ivo: "Please stop using me as a yardstick for failure"
Quite possibly one of my favourite lines of any Taskmaster series!!!

The calmly gleeful, “Jenny and I…” from Alex is beautiful
I wish they wud have also included later in the show when ivo says to Frankie "welcome to thicko corner" and jennys all "WeElcome"
