    Regarding State regulations.... I went to my state's APEX Accelerator trade show last week. I found out that the Gov't calls a middle man a "broker". It's against the law in some states (mine) to be a broker. The legality has to do with how much value the broker adds or doesn't add. You must add some value (be an authorized distributor, or "swing the hammer" yourself). Also, some procurement officers told me that if you are a broker that adds some small value (to be legal) and your sub-contractor doesn't do the work as contracted, you are on the hook for the full contract. If your contract officer is not flexible and gives you time to find a new sub-contractor, you might have to pay more for a last-min contractor and then you must pay the difference. There are some pitfalls to know.

    I’m going after a contract rn. Contacted like 8 subs and got 3 to agree to quote, hopefully they do. This is a RFQ but contracting also wanted past performance. I’m nervous every step so far. lol. Now I gotta start putting together a proposal. First time ever. I figured, even if I mess it up, and lose the bid, the debrief will tell me what I did wrong, and that’ll help me improve, like you say in the book.

    I have called companies for dumpsters and waste removal, but most are large waste management companies or brokers. Pricing seems high

    Hi Derek, I have been following you for a while and always great information. I am a RN and I have a health care staffing and recruiting agency. Do you have any classes where you can help someone walk through the solicitations. I see a few for health care with staffing but when it comes to the government paperwork and how I estimate my profit, it is so confusing, I shy away from the solicitation.
    I can source for the candidate but the paperwork is challenging.

    Is it professional to follow up after you submit your proposal to see where you stand and if you can adjust your pricing?

    • @GovKidMethod
      @GovKidMethod  2 місяці тому +1

      You can’t adjust your pricing after submission. You would withdrawal your offer from consideration if possible.
