I'm all of the above
I would focus on solidifying your Why at this point. It’s the truly the most important piece.
Writing the proposal as well. I doing the middleman strategy.
Our LMM book has a significant portion of it dedicated to the LMM proposal process: govkidmethod.samcart.com/products/the-legal-middleman-method-book/
I’m ready to bid on a daily but lately I just haven’t been finding the right opportunities. I’m confident they’ll show up though. So far, I’ve only bid once due to this.
What kind of opportunities are you looking for that you’re not finding much of?
@@GovKidMethod I’m trying to do the middleman strategy with companies that have agreed to be subcontractors (uniforms, office and janitorial supplies).
@@nicdynicegot it. If you’re not finding enough of these vids, it is a little narrow. You might consider opening up to other opportunities. This is what I call the umbrella strategy. Here’s a short video: ua-cam.com/video/FI6XoTXwbYA/v-deo.html
@@GovKidMethod This was awesome! Thanks so much🙌🏾
#3,4,5 & 6 for me. I’m working my butt off at work so that I can buy your course and buy back my time. It’s the most affordable on the market and I appreciate you for it!
You got this, Brenda! What other prices have you seen for courses on the market?
5,6,8 and 11( the financial part). Need more information on those.
Thanks for the feedback. I will try to do a follow on video.
Waiting, I have submitted several. I just want feedback now, win or lose.
Keep submitting while you wait. That’s great work so far. We’re in the busiest time of year right now..you could land a contract by or before September easily. I see it every year.
Nice video man, I think I’m dealing with imposter syndrome a little and possibly something else. I’ve done well in other businesses I built but having to call people about products or services that I’m not very knowledgeable on has been holding me back 😢
That’s good awareness and is common. I don’t know if this helps, but…contracting doesn’t expect you to be if you are working with subs. Take construction for example. Contracting knows the GC who gets the contract doesn’t know anything about roofing. But it’s their job to schedule, project management, control the budget, and ensure safety. Knowing your job is to govern the contract, you can let the sub own the their responsibility, and you more fully step into owning your role.
@@GovKidMethod thank you so much man! Very informative and that really helps, would you say I can use that same tactic on products as well? Wanted to sound as professional as possible but screw it, I’m not letting little crap like that hold me back anymore. Thanks again
@@JonnyWinnyyou could even more so with supplies. The reason why I suggest services, however, is supplies have low margins and are high competition so you need to bid on a lot more generally speaking. Services are less competitive with higher profit margins. It’s up to you, though.
@@GovKidMethod I see, thanks Derek! Lodging is very attractive to me, and you have some great videos on it. Do hotels ever do discounts since it’s military?
@@JonnyWinnysome may. You can always ask!
Hi Derek, could you do a video covering Surety Bonds for construction projects? Ive been looking at an RFP that requires a Bond Bid with the proposal? Another question I have is on insurance as a middleman. Do I need this?
I don’t focus on construction too much. You can find a bonding company local to your area to provide you a bid bond. It’s not a govcon thing, it’s more like construction insurance for if you walk of the job or don’t pay your subs they can pull your bond. And it’s best practice to have a minimum of general liability insurance from an insurance agent. Limits are often stated in the solicitation, but again you can talk an insurance broker.
How do you actually put a bid in? What is the process. I understand the solicitation and how to read it, it's just putting in the bid. Please help!!!
Essentially, you write the proposal and calculate pricing and email to contracting by the deadline. If you want to see more of the proposal steps, this example video should help: ua-cam.com/video/dOj6rxt15uE/v-deo.htmlsi=ogrNAx2Ysr127ZOi
A bit of an oddball I guess, because it's 5/7/9/11, and I'm stuck. I was on an absolute roll, but in the process of leaving a toxic job, it's as if I ran into a wall. They've been f*cking with me hard now for 6 weeks, and it's just ruined my momentum. I can definitely do this; I've already done estimating, project management, construction, training, technical/proposal writing. I just gotta shake off the 'toxic energy' that's been coming my way for too long... July 5th is my last day, but I'm gonna try to clear my head before then and just get busy.
J5 is my birthday, so let’s celebrate! I left my govcon job that became toxic 7/9/2018. I get it. You will forever thank yourself for it. You are making big shifts. Give yourself grace. We’re in the busy season so it would be great if you can’t start bidding..but you leaving is already a huge win in and of itself. We make our own plans, but God has his plans for us, too.
@@GovKidMethod thank you 🙂I'm gonna actually try to hit it hard (win or lose) during this "we gotta spend the money" last quarter. I'm trying to shake off the energy drain (they're playing alot of games with me), but I trust the Lord to cover and shield me, as well as to provide.
@@GovKidMethod And Happy Birthday, young one!
@@shoshanna8475you got this…This too shall pass.
@@shoshanna8475haha thank you!
From 4 - 9 !! A lot of work !! Still no results !! God is good 👍🏻
Yes he is. How many bids submitted? What’s the feedback been thus far, Sara?
Hey Derek, You posted a video on how to narrow down strategies for finding the agency that may be best for our business. Can you please, please provide the link to that video as I'm seeking to continue my research in finding what agency whose needs I can support? Thanks!
Yes, you’re referring to who’s buying the most of what you want to sell. I go into this in the most detail in my proof of concept exercise in my free masterclass. Have you been theory it, yet? GovKidMethod.com
@GovKidMethod My man! Thank you for the reply. Derek, I haven't checked out the masterclass. Thanks for providing the link. I'll check it out to better gain awareness of my request. Appreciate you, brother!
@GovKidMethod Oh no, the link is saying the masterclass is not available.
@@GUpNuthat’s strange. Can you get this or just type it in manually- govkidmethod.com
@@GovKidMethod Working! Thank you, sir!
Can you create sources sought answer template on your site? I’ll buy
I have in the past. It’s not something I recommend doing, so I have to stick to my integrity.
@@GovKidMethod ok, why not?
@@FA40ZIVuse the effort and energy to bid instead. When you’re starting out and haven’t won any/many contracts, you need to focus on bidding and playing the numbers game so you can improve and win. Responding to sources sought cannot result in a win, it is not a requirement to submit a bid, and doesn’t move the needle at all. It can be beneficial for marketing purpose, and for that reason, is something I only recommend to a govcon business that is more established and has the luxury to focus on marketing AND bidding. New govcons don’t have the luxury yet imo.
@@GovKidMethod thanks for the advise man. Appreciate it
