Derek, you have put out so much great content for so long now, it's no wonder you don't feel good. I would like to see you get the rest that you need. If you took a hiatus, or even cut back to a weekly hour long AMA session, that is way more than anyone could ever expect from you. I appreciate all your hard work. Please rest, heal, and enjoy your life ❤
Thank you, I really appreciate that..You might be able to tell in this video I'm very rushed and catching my breathe often. I can't talk for long period at a time without the symptoms getting worse. I'm trying to do the shorter videos (like this one) so that I can still do something at least. A week on the couch feels like eternity. I'm very impatient, and passion keeps me pushing forward, perhaps to a fault.
Awesome info as always!
Thanks!
Hey derek @govkidmethod. I'm a former correctional officer that developed a new prison lock after my friend got SA'd. Because of a lock malfunction. I was hoping we could talk about it. I feel you could really help me understand government contracting in a more efficient way. I've had seven stabings at my building since I started. Please help
I'm sorry to hear this Phillip, but I think it's great you've channeled that energy into something positive. I don't get on calls these days. I will share with you that it's very difficult to introduce a new product into an existing marketplace. Especially supplies. Contracting is usually looking for the lowest price.
If you want to do this, your path is going to require a lot of building relationships and marketing with contracting offices. You would be looking at requesting a sole source, and they would have to write into the requirement that your product is the only product on the market that can meet their needs. It could be a great contract but could take 1-3 years of marketing and pushing to get this adopted into their catalog.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! I really need a mentor. Maybe i’m a visual learner but I’ve been struggling to submit a proposal for almost a year😢
How far have you gotten along in the process? What’s been the biggest challenge?
Nice video man! How do you find a good person in another city to supervise as a project manager for a lodging/ yellow ribbon event? How important is it for me to be on location for these kinds of contracts?
I recommend attending each event that you can personally. If you can't, send someone you trust, don't just find someone in another city. It can lead to more contracts and things rarely go 100% according to plan, so you need someone who can think on their toes at the event.
Please make videos about pricing!!
Noted!

Im about to bid on janitorial services for 3 DMV's due tomorrow. I read the solicitation but it looks like they just want the attached files filled in. Is that correct?
The rule of forms is that we don’t go looking for them, we fill out what they provide. So unless they’ve asked for technical, past performance or other questions, that’s how many RFQs are…pricing clins only and prints/date/sign and reps & certs. I can only speaking generally without seeing the solicitation.
@GovKidMethod thank you for the response! I keep reading it over and over to make sure. But it's just stating what qualifications you need and to fill in attached files. What's confusing is it states it as RFP?
@@armandomorelos2500if the only thing pulling you in that direction is that it says RFP, don’t worry about it. Contracting copy and pastes their own templates all the time. As long as there’s no written requirement for something else more specific, be confident that you are compliant with what you HAVE identified for your response.
@GovKidMethod that makes way more sense! I started seeing a pattern like that. It's kind of repetitive. It looks like copy and paste and they just added a few of their qualifications for the job. Thank you! You're a blessing man
@@armandomorelos2500 contracting does their best. But we also put them on pedestals. And if you think about it, it makes sense…they are in revolving jobs as is the case in the government, and they have minimal training for what they have to deal with in their jobs. Something as comprehensive as gov contracting is bound to have symptoms like this. And is why contractors need to know this too to be successful. Makes the mental game a lot lighter understanding what it’s like behind the scenes.
My thing is having money to start
What do you need the money for? Have you considered services?
