Go to the octane render tab and at the bottom there is a devices preferences option there you check the denoise check I use a 6 GB 1060 notebook video card and it works for me the denoise normally maybe it works for you too and me I don't even touch that part of the composition where you did it, I actually don't understand much about that part of the composition

Hmm very interesting. For me, the denoiser runs flawlessly on my 2080. Possibly because I have a different procedure that I saw in a tutorial once. I'll try to explain it: First I find out the minimum samples I need for an approximately noise-free rendering, let's say 500 samples. Then I set the minimum denoiser samples to 499. when the full samples are sent through in the viewport, I can tune the denoiser very well with the blend value and always have a noise-free image with maximum details. I know it is completely different from cycles where the denoiser works immediately. But in general I try to avoid the denoiser as much as possible and use it only as a tool to reduce the last noises. It also works very well with adaptive sampling. Your approach also sounds very good and I will keep it in mind in case of problems. Does the Cycles denoiser also work with the Octane render passes? That would be a particularly important point because the render passes can be very important. Thank you for your video and a good tip. Thx & Cheerz

I have an RTX4070ti and it works for me, however, it looks like crap. Even on the render pass, I had to crank the samples up to 2500 (2 hours later) and I am still not happy with it. I will definitely be incorporating your workaround into my next project. I was starting to get disheartened so this came at exactly the right time. Thanks.

I've tried this Blender compositing denoising already and it works well on opaque surface. Try denoising scenes where you have sss, glass and volumetric materials.

The denoising technique you used at 7:35 needs to be done differently. Input a Normal pass on the Denoise window to have a good result. The Albedo pass isn't required.

What normal pass should I use?

    • @andreas_resch
      @andreas_resch Рік тому +1

@@julianolisboa You can try to put the "Diffuse Filter" pass (from the Beauty section) into the Albedo input and the "Normal Shading" pass (from the Info section) into the Normal input of the Denoiser node. You can try if HDR ON or OFF works better for you. Somehow HDR OFF works better for me.

yoo this is just happen to me recently. i even use rtx 3070. here's what happen, i have a scene where i have this half glossy half glass material bottle and it denoised just fine without background or anything when rendering. then i introduce some background object like a grass and flower scattered on plane. then suddenly it doesn't work anymore. idk what just happen but it's really just frustating

Congratulations on the great work, continue with your videos, I'm in Brazil and here we have almost nothing about Octane. I also use the denoise alternative in the composite, I even wanted to know what steps to use the normal one. Octane denoise also doesn't work well on my RTX 3070 TI, but I could be doing something wrong. Thanks again.

Your Octane denoise wasn't working because you didnt' have any nodes on the AOV input,. Just a diffuse default inout to the forst AOV slot and it will work.

Really but when I use the denoise my render taks a really long Time to complete 🤔

Octane denoiser works on my RTX 4090. It is important you have some free memory for denoiser. Make sure you have at last 500MB VRAM free.

I bought this lightroom and could not get any of these methods to work. Render would always say looking for image and not show the 100/500 progress. Then I just deleted the few nodes that were in the compositing tab. Is that a bad idea if I dont see any noise in render? It renders the 500 samples in like 10 secs. now.

Denoise works amazing on my render preview window, however I can not get it going after a render output? anyone able to guide ?

So rendering in Octane (no denoiser) and denoising in cycle is a good idea?

It really depends on what GPU you're using my GPU is old and does not take advantage of the octane denoiser unlike some of the newer dpus it works absolutely fastastic I would say it's a case by case scenario

  • @claroisbhaskoro3941

Alright everyone i found the solution. Just turn on the Octane Out of core. For the memory limit i only add 1024 to the default number 4096 or you can add more if you have enough memory. And for the headroom, i set it to 750mb. I read that octane denoiser need atleast 500mb for the denoising. And it work immediately 😅

@@1polygonewithmeglad it work on you too! also we can compress the texture file on the rgb image node by change the import option from automatic to rgb 4 bit if the texture is not too important or near camera to save more memory

Bit of a click-bait title here, just because you don't have a GPU that can denoise doesn't mean you should promote 'not using Octane's denoiser' - it works quite well and can be very useful when your in liveviewer and don't have time to constantly render out a frame and go through the compositor, I like the workaround you present, but feel a bit cheated here thinking you presented a real reason to avoid Octane's denoiser.

Hey bro 🥺🙏🏾 sorry you didn't get the result you were looking🙏🏾... for from my point of view its the truth this video is why I don't use it.... I'm not trying to gain a massive amounts of views if I was I definitely wouldn't be trying to make octane videos for blender 🤭🙏🏾 I'm just trying to provide value for the few people who use blender Octane....I'm not trying to play to the algorithm I'm just trying to provide 100% value nothing more nothing less but I really appreciate your opinion thank you 🙏🏾🤓🙏🏾
