TBH I believe it’s the quality of the A1 lawn seeds, I have had the same problem started from scratch the lawn and it’s riddled with POA

Another nice video buddy. Poa is a constant pain… I renovated last knockings of 2022 and this year the poa was back properly worst than before the renovation… I use the kitchen fork method, and dug up probably well in excess of 300 plants earlier in the year… Poa seeds can lay dormant for years and then come to life as it’s an exceptionally opportunistic weed grass… you just gotta keep on top of it as we don’t have the luxury of pre-emergents like ‘over the pond’ and the only recently UK licensed product is way over the home owner budget… keep the videos coming. Love watching them 👍

I turned my scarifier into a poor man’s verticutter by putting an edge on the blades with a grinder and then using on the 0mm setting so it doesn’t go into the soil, still does the same job as a scarifier but also will actually cut lateral growth like a verticutter. Works mint 👌

Some good advice in the vid, thanks! Little tip for you too, if you drape the cable over your shoulders (back of your neck) it'll never get in the way of the mower - just gotta make sure you have it on the right side :)

My lawn comes out from winter not bad, because we had less snow (Bavaria) have done my spring routine at Easter weekend and I was really happy. But now I heard about the poa annua and I find some small spots in my lawn also. Yesterday at 8 a. M. With dynamite to hunt this gras😅... Now I have some holes and it's raining for 6 days now and iam not happy. Greetings from Germany

The lower you cut the lower they will gro as well, however you will be able to spot them more easily as they can't hide under your tall grass.

The eternal poa problem 😂. As seen it's the seed heads and colour difference that stand out but it actually blends well once these are delt with. In this country what you have done is the best way of dealing with it but will periodically need to be repeated.

Wear the cable over the right shoulder an it will works better

Just wondering what aspect your back lawn is? We live in a new build just like yours and have a north facing garden. After September time we have very little sunlight in the garden and was wondering if you could recommend a seed that would be resilient to this. In the spring/ summer months we have sunlight covering the lawn for the vast majority of the day.

I have the same problem in my lawn, but to be honest,I think I prefer to have those in my lawn than having leatherjackets killing the lawn, they are a pain in the A**

What height in mm is the hayter setting 3? I'm using the bosch rotak cordless on setting 5...50mm should I drop the height of mine down?

The battle against Poa annua is lost from the moment people use ryegrass for domestic lawn. The best to eliminate the problem is creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera). Outcompetes Poa because of the way it propagates. Perfect for stripping and short cut, carpet like… and contrary to what people may think, not that demanding when compared with rye

What is that other machine you're using? Sounds like you're saying "heater" or "Hater"
