Thank you for the review !! I’m driving my dads hobao hyper 7 , we got it when I was a teen , and I just grew up and never touched it, i thank my dad for keeping it and giving it to me years later as a 34 year old adult, I took the hyper 7 to my local hobby store they fixed it and got it running ! Thing purrs like a kitten for being so old ! But I am looking into this kyosho as my next buy !
my first hobby grade rc was the lunch box. 6months later got the. big Brute in 1989. still can't believe you can buy the lunchbox, but not the Big Brute. That was a great Rc. drove it till there was nothing left
I have the same buggy, but with T3 body. Bought for fun, as I have other 1/5 scale models (FG touring and KM Bajas)... but I find the 1/8 scale more usable both in small spaces and in large parks. I lowered the car via the higher holes on the shock turrets. I installed anti-roll bars, and immediately saw improvements in stability. After a gallon i still have the original plastic spur, because out of the box i changed the mesh, so i have almost a perfect coupling. But i have the steel 46 teeth spur in the box, just in case lol
Love the enthusiasm man. If was in the market for a for an RTR nitro this looks like a great option. I spent too many years fiddling with nitro “mostly heli”. But the heart pumping excitement of a nitro is a huge allure to some. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for giving the part number for the metal spur, bought it along with my order. Nitro should ALWAYS use steel or at least alum gears... What were they thinking .lol
This deck reminds me of my first RC monster truck Arrma Outcast 1/8 BLX, which I bought preowned. This buggy is a good choice for someone tired of A-brands in RC. Not a nitro version. Thanks for the review 🇺🇦🇺🇸
Personally, I don't think the plastic spur gear is an issue at all, unless the gear mesh isn't set right. As someone said before, the mesh is too loose from factory and looking at my 3.0 (that I still haven't run yet) I would agree that the mesh definitely needs adjustment as it's way too loose. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is done deliberately at the factory so that people strip them and buy the metal spur gear. I've had a few Inferno's over the years and still have my old '99/'2000 ish MP7.5 Sports that came as a kit with the GS21R engine (before the all the RTR MP7.5's came out) and I never had to change the spur gear on it because I always made sure the gear mesh was set properly.
New to nitro rc. What length os glow plug did you get for this car. I bought the car after watching your video and figured I would do so of the same upgrades.
I don't know, it always bums me out seeing the old pro models being cheaped down. Silicone fluid in 4 gear diffs, thicker shock towers, alloy shocks should be included at that price point. Kyosho already made a pile of dough on the old 7.5 pro platform...that being said I'm glad to see they still offer the glow models.
Great review but coming from someone who has both the kyosho neo 3.0 and mp9 tki4 read set. I honestly believe it is definitely worth the extra $150 for the mp9 ready set. The mp9 still has a lot better part support for it compared to the neo. Try to get a body for neo 3.0 and then try to get one for the mp9, you will have multiple bodies to choose for a mp9 while the neo is almost nonexistent. The mp9 has a better clutch, better shocks and sway bars included. They both have their quirks but I believe the mp9 ready set is the best value for a 1/8 rtr nitro buggy.
Great info! I've been waiting on Kyosho to bring the MP9 back in stock, but it seems like they're not planning to carry it anymore. Maybe an MP10 RTR on the way?
I asked this in another video as well I'm kind of new to RC and lipo scare the hell out of me I've seen too many incidents with them if you don't treat them properly and I don't have anybody around me to teach me the correct procedures are charging and discharging and how to storage charge. With this be a good buggy for a beginner I've always wanted a kyosho and love the sound of nitro
Anyone have any comparison between the Kyosho Inferno Neo 3.0 electric rtr / Inferno MP9 electric rtr. Compared with the Corally Radix 4 rtr buggy / Radix 6 re handling.
If anyone has a old b44 and needs parts I have 1 needs electronics, battery latch and wheels. Body is painted custom by racer. Good shape. 75 bucks first taker. Want to see someone get there's back out on the tracks.
Luckily the electric version comes with the steel spur stock, not into nitro myself. But was considering getting the Inferno Neo 3.0 rtr brushless version, but then I wondered if I should go for the more expensive later design Inferno MP9 E brushless rtr. No racing just fooling around like you are doing in this video, decisions decisions eh.
My only kyosho has nothing to do with it! It's a mini z GT-R RWD drift car... Pretty much fully hopped up, just still need to work on the front, but it's probably just going to be a matter of swapping springs.. 🤣
Nice buggy. Like the HPI it has a wrap around clutch which are pretty rubbish, you need to change the flywheel to be able to run a proper 3 shoe racing clutch. A proper one piece tuned exhaust is also a good option. Great price for you guys in the states, unfortunately it retails at about $490 here in the UK though 😡
@@wasa7 I was talking in RRP or SSP, it's probably discounted heavily because they aren't selling very well. UK nitro sales are the lowest they have been in the last 20 years
@@akedemystopmotion2849 I can run the electric version ANYWHERE without annoying anyone. Can you say that about nitro? And you have to buy fuel to run it. And then you have to clean the mess it makes on the car. I use to run nitro and I don't miss it.
Different diff designs also run different fluid ranges. For example, traxxas center diffs need 500k+ to be acceptable. Traxxas sells 3million wt. In my old brushless-converted OFNA 1/8 truggy and buggy, 50k was good and 100k was too thick, resulting in standing backflips and broken rear diffs. Even with 30k, the front tires didn't balloon much more than the rear.
Well spec'd rtr, especially for bashing although diff fluid makes a lot more sense and a metal spur is a must (look out for those cast spindles, as well). For club racing, diff oil is a must and racing clutch. Overall, great value!
@@jerryvolpini7987 I agree with you that they are not in the same class, but I am just saying that I personally would chose nitro slash in the same price range. It's faster, ez start, tsm, parts availability, very simple to work on

My cousin had the Blackfoot in the late 80’s that I inherited. Then I got a Traxxas Hawk for my 12th birthday in 92.

couldn't agree more. I actually went from metal to plastic spur on my MP9, never had a problem stripping and way more quite.
HoBao Hyper7 is also in the same category. I happen to like the Hyoer7 a lil more.

Couid you do a video showing the diff service, getting the extra gears, etc…?
A reveiw on the mp9e rtr would be awsome.
Maybe the nitro, but I’m not likely to get the electric.
Hi can you do a review on the electric version thx 👍
I appreciate your enthusiasm man keep it up

How would the new Hobao Hyper VS2 buggy compare to the Inferno Neo 3.0 & MP9 ?
put the mp9 anti roll bars on it makes the car so much better
Mp7.5 great platform I have the original mp7.5 still run it on local clay track handles well. I'd assume this is identical

What is the new air filter ?

Nice review, thank you.
Parts can take up to a year according to my hobbyshop with kyosho
I have no problems getting Kyosho parts in a timely manner.
My first RC was the Tamiya Grasshopper.
Does anyone remember that one? I am going back to 1987.
awesome rc and great overview
Wow, in a short time, these things have gone up in price. Do you still think it's worth it at the $420 to 485 price range?

Love the nitro content.. do you think it's worth it to go for the kyosho mp9 tki4 v2 instead. same engine, right?
If you’re driving around on the street or a baseball Diamond, no. If you’re driving on a track or anything with dirt jumps, yes.
The ke motors are the best nitro motor on the market i have the ke25 motor in myn its great
Would you do the diff fluids before or after the break in
either is fine, there's grease in there so you won't do any damage if you break it in as is.

Can’t go wrong with either!
I have a Inferno Neo 3.0 rtr brushless. It's well worth the money. Some of the MP9 and MP10 parts are compatible with it.
