Season 2 looks like it’s gonna have a tournament type story so if the show gonna do anything this season will get us a game
With 2024 Sony? The same company that not just bungled the PS5 (even stating recently that the PS5 underperformed is at the end of it's life cycle) and has own goaled pretty much everything they've done the last 3-4 years (TLOU 2, Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade...etc). You think they'll actually strike while the irons hot? Twisted Metal isn't an over the shoulder third person action game so Sony doesn't give a fuck about it and is content to let it die in a pile with the other IPs Sony is sitting on.
There’s few things that I want more than a new Twisted Metal game. Please Sony can’t you see this Die Hard fanbase?! Season 1 was awesome and Season 2 has so much potential. I have coworkers that never heard of Twisted Metal that watched the show. Don’t let the flame die out!
If there announced a new Twisted Metal game lets.hope that the formula remains the same as the previous games.

I certainly hope it does - if season 2 of the show **doesn't** bring about a new game, then I'm afraid a new game will likely not happen, at least in the immediate future

I'd love to see Axel's story as part of the tv show (i haven't seen the show yet, i wish we could do a "Watch Along" in Discord with TMF members when season 2 premiers).
Re-reading how confident the writers are for the show that they could make many seasons with how large the game rosters are and keep pushing new tournaments each time is admirable. I can't wait to see season 2 itself, because the show is good fun. As much as I'd love for the show to give Sony the hint that people want more with the IP, I fear the suits are too oblivious with what people want ever. At the bare minimum, I'd love to see every single game ported/remastered onto PS5 because that would give the general consumers and new fans legal access for Sony to gauge interest.

I agree if it was going to get revived, season 1 should have done it, however. Sony may just want to see if the hype for TM is still there. Either way it would be dumb of Sony not to try an cash grab during this opportunity.
I mentioned something about this last night, idk if it was before or after you left Drew's live or not. But I was saying I hope they at least do one last game, kind of like a MK Armageddon. Bringing every vehicle back for a last showdown.
I guess Sony doesn't remember how much of our money we gave them when they were making these games!
I have always wondered about Axel, how does he move? His "vehicle" doesn't have a motor that we see.
I'm intrigued to see how they structure the season and the number of episodes that'll be centered around the tournament. For the drivers taking part in the contest that we haven't seen yet, I'm hoping they get some screen time and development beforehand, as opposed to just showing up unceremoniously and feeling rushed. Are there any characters you'd love to see in the upcoming season that haven't been confirmed yet?

@VicariousNickGaming maybe specter could be driven by bloody Mary since she is in the show. If not her they might go with a washed up movie star route in a lance wilder/ken masters from TM2, or someone else out of left field.
@graywolf201 same as nick I would like to see thumper also warthog. Also for warthogs' driver I wonder which one they would choose, commander mason (TM1), captain Rogers (TM2) or colonal Mason (TMHO).

It will help the games a bit for sure. But you are right, Sony is neglecting the franchise. So unless Sony does something new to capitalize on the show, it will not change anything. If not a new game, make a collection of the games for PS5 and PS4, maybe even release on PC. A small remaster with improved resolution of the old PS1, PSP and PS2 games with QoL improvements as well. Still, the best would be a new TM game.
The stuff they could do with a new twisted metal game with today's technology is endless. They could make parts of it like gran turismo where you could custom build your car with weapons and parts upgrades. You could loot other cars for their weapons and parts after defeating them. The online PVP could be so awesome if done right. The near future needs a new next Gen Twisted Metal.
For me I'm curious to see how the tournament plays out. And if John Doe wins said tournament will it stick to the classic monkeys paw wish style like the games? Also i believe that it will bring attention to the franchise again like season 1, will we finally get a new game maybe but I'am leaning towards no.
Yes i do. The fact that S1 was great and well received and that sony was already making it before it was cancelled. I still think they will do it, it is just they have to start from scratch.
given how bad the gaming industry is, if a new twisted metal game came out it would probably have a battle pass, micro transactions and an unfinished launch. I really hope that’s not the case but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did happen
I would love to see in the future of Season 2 will be more impactful than Season 1
Season 1 was really good (I did not expect that). If season 2 comes out just as good with hopefully better budget this time, yes it will revive the video games.

There's only one actor who could play Axel and that Is Terry Crews😂 this is attend to be a comedy after all but we'll wait and see what happens.

I believe once Season 2 drops next year there will be a new game announcement. If the Season 2 does well which I’m pretty sure it will. They might even give us more details about the game or something.

I'm not so sure I want a new TM game at this time. I highly doubt the game would keep the same structure as the past games. I could see it being multiplayer only liveplay with drop-in playing. So, pretty much Pubg or Fortnite with cars. NOT what I would want in the next game.
Sony no longer makes system specific games and there are rumblings that the company may not make future systems. Like the 1980's, there is an oversaturation of games with little quality control along with high-profile games being lackluster. We may be headed to a video game recession, not a crash. All of this is anecdotal from UA-cam pundits, but it seems accurate.
I don't think there is a video that shows every easter egg and reference in the show. I would love to see it.
I'm hoping it's MUCH better than the first season. I wasn't a big fan of it, but I'm not expecting it to be much better. 🤷♂️ Sorry to be a downer, but that's me.
I do not like how they handled majority of the characters in the show. Raven was comepletly deflated when it was revealed all she wanted was ice cream; an ice cream she didnt even finish. It just disappointed me.
They ruined Preacher, Mr Slamm, Agent Shepherd and Stone. They ruined Carl and Jamie Roberts. They massacred characters I loved from the games. Im a twisted metal fan and i dont want a season 2. It should've been an animated series using the artist style from TM2 and Head on with the tone of TMB and 2012.
Sweet Tooth felt like a power rangers villain when he should've felt like terrifying psychopath who legitimately could have his own slasher film.
I gave season 1 a rewatch and i do like John Doe and Quiet but not enough to want a season 2.
After seeing what they did to Mr. slamm i dont want to see what they do with the other characters.
