If you get the chance, check out “Dragon Attack” by Queen - every band member gets a solo. I would suggest the studio version because it is the most clear. Epic solos by each band member
The studio version of this song is one of THE greatest songs ever released, period! He was also the greatest showman on earth and i'm not even a queen superfan, you'll hear it from alot of people.
God bless Freddie Mercury, no one will ever come close! Thanks to Roger and Brian for keeping Queen's music alive still today for new generations of fans. I hope John is happy in his retirement...miss him too.
The incomparable Roger Taylor!! He was/is a total beast on drums and vocals. He is ranked 8th out of a hundred greatest drummers of all time. This performance is ranked the 2nd best live performance with Live Aid ranked as the greatest live performance of all time. Rest In Paradise beautiful Freddie ❤️👑🎹🎤🥁🎸🙏
Thanks for recognizing Roger Taylor's vocal abilities. He and Freddie harmonized so well then add the other 2.. Perfection. Roger and Brian also has solo work that is awesome.
👍 …and Roger would in fact sing parts of the melody line in concerts where Freddie’s voice was too tired to hit the higher notes. He was invaluable to Queen!
@Patricia Crowell Ewww. To even put this song anywhere near Abba (they kinda creep me out) But I guess everyone has different tastes..... If I'm having a UA-cam night I can't not watch this video before I stop.
Freddie played a few instruments. His favorite to play was the audience. Props to Roger Tyler for drums and singing without even looking! (and for being so darn cute :) )
After Freddie became rich enough to afford just about whatever he wanted people asked him if ever thought about getting his teeth fix. And Freddie said I would BUT I'm afraid that would change how I sang and that's not worth it. I'll keep my teeth so I can keep my voice. Love it! 🔥🤘😍
Yeah, that's my favorite live performance. Freddie made it look so effortless and he was just doing what he was created to do - all of them... they were meant to come together to create this great, timeless music!
I have a huge chip on my shoulder about this, though I am a lead singer. However, I'm also a guitar player and bass player and background singer. Queen is great because everyone in Queen is great as a whole. Hits were written by every member of the band, and they are all phenomenal on their instruments and vocals. However, I will say Freddie Mercury is one of my vocal Inspirations. The biggest compliment I've ever gotten in my life (musically) was when a couple walked up to me after I finished a solo acoustic performance, and they said "your singing reminds us of Freddie Mercury." :-)
Actually, John admitted he was never much of a singer....still a very talented musician and songwriter. I believe he played guitar and keyboard in addition to the bass guitar.
Exactly. Freddie was such a presence it's easy to overlook the immense talents of Brian, John, ( and in this one ) especially Roger. I'm now 65. It took me 40 years to fully appreciate Queen was all four incredible musicians.
You were spot on! Aretha Franklin's music was the inspiration to the sound of this song and she sang in her Daddy's Baptist church. Freddie was a big fan. I absolutely loved ur reaction to this favorite song! Queen live is simply the best! FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND DON'T STOP ME NOW UNDER PRESSURE (w/ Bowie) KILLER QUEEN/I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR and DRAGON ATTACK (also live Montreal)
Feeling sad watching this. There will never be another Freddy. I was lucy to get to see them in concert. So fun, so much energy. He's rocking out with Eddie, neil, Jimmy, Glenn, Prince and many more greats. What a band that would make. Miss those days. Lucky to be a teen in the mid 70's thru the early 80's. I feel lucky to be a part of that. WE LOVED IT. STILL DO. ROCK ON.
He wasn't called Farrokh since he was a kid, no one could pronounce it properly ! He always introduced himself as Fred or Freddie never Farrokh When he came to Britain he put his name as Fredderick Farrohk Bulsara Then in 72 he changed his name to Mercury No idea which he used on official paperwork No idea
This song was Freddies favorites, he loves Aretha Franklin. This was his tribute to her, very good react! Omg there are so many great Queen-song, well all are supergreat, you never ever get wrong with Queen. A winters tale, stays close to my ♥️ love from Norway....lol
Love of My Life performed in Montreal!! A legend of course!! Brian great guitarist, Roger Taylor drums and Jon Deacon bass. They are perfectionists. Long Live Queen!! Thank you for your sharing this!!
Queen live singing It’s a kind of magic at Wembley. Also Wembley “Under pressure “ live, love your reactions love from Scotland 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
"Figaro"....Bohemian Rhapsody?? The drummer (Roger Taylor) is famous for his falsetto. My favourite with Adam Lambert is a three way tie between Who Wants To Live Forever, Love Kills and Somebody To Love. My favourite with Freddie....pretty well all of them!! Well maybe, Somebody To Love, Another One Bites The Dust or Dragon Attack. You've got to check out their Live Aid performance ! Widely regarded as one of the best rock front man performances of all time...20 mins of Freddie magic! (From Yorkshire, UK)
I love the song Love of my Life and one of the last songs they did These are the days of our lives ❤️ You could tell Freddie was sick but it was a great song RIP Freddie Mercury
Yes glad you appreciate great talent...Freddie is arguably the best vocalist of all time...never had voice training...he could hear a song once and could play it...he was a beautiful soul and all the members of the band were very talented...for example, the guitarist Brian May made that guitar he was/is playing with his dad when he was a teen out of wood around the house...that's why it has a unique sound, and by the way, he has a PHD in astro- physics and has worked with NASA. Freddie was Parsi and his real name was Farroukh Bulsara. There are so many fantastic songs, so it's hard to choose a favourite. For crowd control: LOVE OF MY LIFE, live at Wembley. 1986....Mad energy: NOW I'M HERE, live at Wembley and PLAY THE GAME,live at Milton Keynes...
This band didn't just have perhaps the best rock singer but they have one of the best guitarist, drummer and basist ever too, no wonder they made magic together. I absolutely love the harmonies in this song.
Good reaction. He was a super star talent in super talented band. His bandmates get overlooked at times due to just how good he is, but Roger is an amazing drummer and great singer. Brian is a fantastic guitarist...and my personal favorite is the bassist Deacon. Listen to enough of queen and you will recognize a ton of simple but awesome bass riffs. P.S. definitely not a baptist lol He was from a religion called Zoroastrianism though I don't think he was overly involved with them outside of childhood.
Absolutely every song Queen did was amazing, 57 yrs old and I've been listening to them since they came out. This song reminds me that I'm still looking for that one true love 💘
also yes, he is absolutely showing off at the end but that’s also how the studio track ends and it’s sooooo satisfying to hear it performed note-perfect on a live stage 😭
This performance is up there in my top 5, but White Queen live at Hammersmith 1975 is my top favourite. Now I’m Here at Wembley, is also up there for it’s sheer energy and Freddie is so charismatic you can’t take your eyes off him. Nice reaction, greetings from Down Under 🇦🇺
Bohemian Rhapsody is the song you forgot. Great Reaction, thanks for keeping an eye out for Roger Taylor on drums he is often overlooked although he has big talent with Singing while playing Drums. He also has his own song in this same concert where he sings lead and plays drums its called I'm in Love with my Car (live at Montreal 1981). Roger can not only sing like that but his high notes are something else, his falsetto is really angelic if you want to see him singing high check out Queen Live at the Rainbow (1974) - In the Lap of the Gods. My favorite Queen song is The Show Must Go On. The story behind that song is beyond incredible, its what to me makes Freddie my favorite Singer, performer and front man of all time. Very inspiring.
Freddie loved Aretha Franklin, and this is his tribute to her.❤ Dragon Attack from this same concert is great...very funky! Try some of their older stuff like White Queen live at the Odeon- Hammersmith or You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park...both from the mid-70's...you won't be disappointed!
this song was an hommage/ode to aretha franklin, freddie loved her so thats why it got the soul feel to it. glad you finally arrived at queen, i hope you will fall into the rabbit hole and discover awesomeness that has been there
My personal favorite is Under Pressure, but everything they do is rather amazing. Like everyone else I’d recommend their Live Aid performance. It’s not nearly as long as a full concert, but it’s amazing. You can easily react to the whole thing in one sitting.
Freddie LOVED Aretha Franklin, and was inspired by her gospel music. 👌 He said that this was his favorite song, and was proud of the way it was structured. He was as much of a performer as a singer and musician, and eventually hired keyboardist Spike Edney so that he could focus only on working the stage. 😁 …Spike plays Queen’s concerts this day. ❤️
Welcome back with Freddie's favorite song🤗 Its Hard to pick only one song of Queen as your Favorite. For me almost all of their song when i listen became my Favourite 😅. As long as it's Freddie's voice and as soon as Freddie sing a first note of the Song my Heart melts already💛. Freddie is G.O.A.T! Great reaction bro😊👑 please do "Queen @ Live Aid '85 " if u haven't yet.🙏
At this point in time they were coming off of a number of successful albums A Night at the Opera, A Day at the Races, News of the World, Jazz and Live Killers. I saw them during this tour for the Game album in September 1980 at Madison Square Garden. Unbelievable show!
One of my favorite images of QUEEN is from this performance... near the end of the song when the camera is on Freddie (center stage with mic stand) facing one way and in the background you can see Roger Taylor on drums, looking the opposite direction & singing his heart out too. Yes, Freddie was a phenomenal entertainer that everyone raves about, but very few give props to Roger. It takes a ton of talent & stamina just to be on the drums, let alone sing at the same time. Roger also has that powerful higher toned voice which pairs up perfectly with Freddie's. Their harmonies together are simply superb! :-) My favorite song is a tie between - Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Radio Gaga (FYI - Lady Gaga got her name from this song).
His name is Freddie Mercury! Lead singer for Queen. He can play many instruments! Roger Taylor sings back up alot. His talent is underrated as a drummer and singer.🔥🔥🔥
Freddie wrote this his favorite song for his favorite singer Aretha Franklin. That’s why it sounds gospel. She obviously was a great influence. More Queen!
Queen songs you should check out: "Killer Queen", "Don't Stop Me Now", "I Want to Break Free", "I Want It All", "Who Wants to Live Forever", "Las Palabras de Amor", "Innuendo", "Too Much Love Will Kill You", "No One But You (Only the Good Die Young)", "The Miracle", "Fat Bottom Girls", "Bicycle Race", "Princes of the Universe", "Radio Ga Ga", "Under Pressure", "Hammer To Fall", "Love of My Life", "Save Me", and so many more. Also: Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé "Barcelona".
Mexico, Missouri here. Freddie was the greatest showman ever and the whole band was united and knew how to entertain! I've been rocking with Queen since I was a young teenager - 58 now! I introduced my 5 children to all genres of music. My oldest son raps and writes lyrics but still rocks out to Queen too. They have some of the greatest songs of all time! Bohemian rhapsody was always my favorite, check it out, it's amazing!! Great reaction!! 🔥❤️✌️
Freddie Mercury was a BEAST on stage! Sheesh
If you get the chance, check out “Dragon Attack” by Queen - every band member gets a solo. I would suggest the studio version because it is the most clear. Epic solos by each band member

Holy cow!! You are A-mazing! I just love your interpretation of this song! You made me want to cry!! Thank you!!!
He was a true showman. No computers back then, either. The entire band wrote songs, they were a team.
FREDDY THE GREATEST.💪👊🐯🐯🐯🔱🔱🔱
God bless Freddie Mercury, no one will ever come close! Thanks to Roger and Brian for keeping Queen's music alive still today for new generations of fans. I hope John is happy in his retirement...miss him too.

He always said the audience is his favorite instrument :)

Nobody can top Freddie. Best frontman in history.

All 4 musicians in Queen wrote #1 songs.

Supposedly Love of my Life was written for Mary Austin who was his girlfriend until he came out as as gay. He left her his London mansion.
The drummer Roger Taylor besides being a phenomenal drummer has a great voice. His voice is actually higher than Freddie Mercury's voice.
